Staff was inconsistent. On my first day, there was unannounced construction noise. That is unacceptable by any standard, even for a short time. Guests require advance notice. On my last night, a staff member took my clothes from the dryer and shoved them all haphazardly into a paper bag so that the time and money I spent doing laundry was wasted. After they acknowledged the wrongdoing but offered nothing, I demanded my money back, and they did so, but it shouldn’t happen to begin with. When I checked out I was offered one free breakfast, which I declined, because that does not undo the lack of basic courtesy. It is a symptom of broader inconsistent treatment—foreign guests are treated as burdensome and not fit for the same high level of service, courtesy, and respect that any Japanese person would show a fellow Japanese person.

Our favorite hotel we've stayed at in all of our trips abroad! Great views, the cafe/bakery was a huge plus, and right by 2 train stations without it being too loud or hectic. Loved it
