Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo4.0 out of 5.0

The hyatt centric is nicely located in the bustle of Ginza. Minutes walk away from the main shopping, dining, and drinking scene of Ginza. The hotel is nicely designed, breakfast is good, and there is always activity at the hotel bar.
Nice modern hotel in one of the best locations in Tokyo. This is a boutique hotel without the amenities at a larger hotel like the Andaz, Ritz or Palace (all great options). You trade the amenities for the location, and for many it's worth it. I had a suite, and the room was outstanding. Beautiful design, spacious, well furnished and lots of tech. There was only hangers, no storage for cloths. My issue with the hotel was the service. There is very little flexibility in Japan and this hotel is no different. I requested a higher floor to get out of the view of the adjacent building just 50 feet away staring in your rooms. For this, you need to be at or above the 8th floor. I requested this many months in advance, and again at checkin. I checked in at around 2pm. I again requested a higher floor. I was told that it would take a couple of hours to accommodate . I came back at 5pm and was given the 5th floor, the lowest floor. I have Explorist status with Hyatt, that's their second highest status which normally allows me an upgrade to the best available room. My status, months advance notice, and request at checkin did nothing for me. Not only that, it got me the lowest floor possible. When questioned about the floor selection I was told "all the other rooms were occupied by people who booked before me". To say a dozen other people booked more than 6 months out, and all had a higher status than me is just nuts and I don't believe to be true. It has become an increasing trend at Hyatt that you have to fight for benefits as an elite status member. Franchises (i'm not certain if this Hyatt is or isn't) lose money by giving out better rooms to status members so they won't give you the benefits without a fight. I'm generally not treated like that with Marriott. I have a lower status tier with Marriott currently and receive far better upgrades than my Explorist status with Hyatt. I've stayed at the Ritz in Roppongi numerous times, and with just Gold status I have received an upgrade from the base room to a big beautiful Suite every time I've gone to that hotel. They have been very accommodating and the service outstanding. Other hotels I would recommend. The Ritz (excellent service, amazing views, nice location, The Palace Hotel (nice location, great views, connected to subway, breakfast outdoors on the water) Andaz (not the best location though) Peninsula (excellent service and location) Aman Don't bother: Parky Hyatt The Capital Hotel Grand Hyatt
We always pick the Hyatt Centric in Ginza Tokyo for its unbeatable location however it is sadly missing a few basics. The mini bar is un-stocked because they want their in-house guests to run down to the 7 Eleven store nearby? I think it’s a little absurd to have an empty mini bar especially since there’s no room service available after 9 pm. The house-keeping is not always good and on the day you check in, they don’t bother with turn-down service or replenish used towels. The breakfast selection at the restaurant is pretty good with a well balanced menu of both local and European cuisine. Special mention - the croissants and other pastries are made to absolutely perfection! There’s a lovely little terrace with cafe tables and chairs - sadly the staff don’t like to promote the space and if you ask to be seated on the terrace, they don’t look too happy and would rather decline your request. We tried to have a coffee around 3 pm but couldn’t and were directed to the lounge bar instead. The lounge bar Namiki667 is a well designed space. The interior is pretty nice with tones of black and brown, dim lighting and good music unfortunately the staff who have been handling the space for the last two years lack hospitality. The entire team including the bar manager - impolite with an expressionless look on their faces. Busy or not, you’ll get the same useless service which is a real put-off! Stay at the Hyatt Centric only for its Super location and friendly front office team!
Nice having stay in this hotel from 31 May - 6 June 2019, perfect for the room , perfect accomodation, services but only need to improve breakfast buffet variety of foods as everyday we have the same foods. . And i have one question that why not many services like SPA, and Swimming Pool ? . Thank You
After staying at this hotel in 2017, I was very pleased to return for a stay in late May 2019. It seems to have gone from strength to strength. I noted a few minor teething issues during my initial stay, but none of these were apparent this time around. You cannot really beat the location - in central Ginza, it is within walking distance to major stations, shops and attractions, although I found not all taxi drivers knew the hotel by name (having the address written down might help). The rooms were supremely comfortable, and well maintained. I loved the contemporary design of the standard room with thoughtful open-plan features, with a sliding partition to create privacy if desired. I loved the expansive walk-in shower / bath! Service was faultless. A minor issue with the room phone was solved, and various requests were attended to without delay and with typical Japanese courtesy and efficiency. The hotel bar/restaurant conveniently serves meals and drinks throughout the day, and there is now room service (which I think might have been lacking very early on....)! Online check-in and departure was easily handled using the Hyatt smartphone app (much better than the terrible Marriott Bonvoy app). It certainly isn't the cheapest Ginza option (if you want cheaper, go for a business hotel), but the extra premium is well worthwhile. If you want a great combination of superb quality, location and service, it is very difficult to go past Hyatt Centric. I dare say it is better than the other Hyatt brands in Tokyo, particularly given the location. Once again, highly recommended! Kudos to the team of staff who seem to run a very tight ship.
Hyatt Centric Ginza is an amazing hotel right in the heart of Ginza, very close to the metro station. So very conveniently located in a great area. It is very modern and stylish, our room was just perfect! We were on the 12th floor and had nice views of Ginza. Super comfortable, with all amenities and high quality toiletries. Breakfast is real good! The buffet has literally everything, best eggs Benedict ever! The staff are very welcoming and friendly yet professional. A great place to stay in Tokyo!
For a calm, thoroughly pleasant stay and friendly and efficient service, I totally recommend the Hyatt Centric Ginza, Tokyo. It is in a great location, and the staff could not be better. Great bar and restaurant and a serene lobby which is easy to use and enjoy. Beds are comfortable, and the rooms work well...I had a King Bed room which was big enough...I am sure the bedroom Suites must be very nice.
This has become my preferred hotel for holiday visits to Tokyo. I like staying in the Ginza area which is much quieter than the other popular locations such as Shinjuku and Shibuya. This hotel condition is very new and the room layout is functional and comfortable. I like the custom-built bar cum workstation cum vanity which makes everything very handy. The lounge sofa and chairs are practical and the bed is firm. Without a swimming pool is fine with me. The room rates sometimes are on the high side. It is more affordable if booking many months in advance.
Visiting Tokyo was already a dream. This trip was planned almost 18 months ago. During the process, I chose a lot of different hotels and in the end, decided on the Hyatt Centric. This brand is relatively new to me as I always used Andaz or regency. However, it’s like being at home. We did have a few issues but this was my fault. We have an amazing time . Breakfast was good, drinks and dinner amazing. The staff was amazing- they went above and beyond- this is what I love the Hyatt Brand- it’s like being at home. The hotel is also very close to everything including all the train and metro stops. It’s just perfect location.
Great hotel. only 1.5 yrs old. Perfect location - close to Ginza subway and Ginza 6. We found limited food in the area in the early morning i.e. 7 to 8 am - except for the Starbucks in Ginza 6. Our room was good size and quite compact. Shower was unique and had a wooden floor that slanted the water away. Due to limited food in the area, we ate in the restaurant 3 nights - which was quite good for a reasonable price. Would surely stay again. The Ginza is a beautiful area and centrally located. We stay 4 nights - 3 full days. Not enough for Tokyo. Need 5 full days to see everything. This was a pre-cruise trip for us so in total our trip was 20 days.
