My boys and I really enjoyed the relaxing home and river views from Bear Necessities deck, and the river access just down the drive. We had everything we needed right there for our long weekend, with Todd Island Park so closeby plus places to rent equipment to get out on the river.

Relaxing Getaway

We had an excellent stay at Bear Necessities in Todd. The house was exactly as described and the location was so peaceful. We enjoyed relaxing mornings on the porch, went tubing on the New River, and squeezed in a campfire and smores. We would love to return in the fall sometime to enjoy a bike ride along the Railroad Grade Road.

Great getaway!

We enjoyed the cabin. The house was a bit quirky with the rooms but we made it work. The porch was our favorite place to hang out. We loved taking the dogs to the river so close to the house. The cabin is well- equipped and clean!!! Thanks for the memories!

Great property!

Bear Neccessities was amazing and perfect for our needs. Property was easily accessible, despite rainy (followed by snowy) conditions. The kids loved being able to hang out in the great room with the fireplace going, and my wife and I enjoyed the quiet. We had an interesting run-in with a couple of Carolina Wrens upon check-in, but that was more amusing than anything. Would highly recommend this property to friends or family.main room and occasionally play nintendo by the fireplace, and my wife and I appreciated being able to

This setting is very peaceful and offers access to river activities nearby and convenient to Boone and West Jefferson. We had plenty of room to relax inside and out. The cabin is really clean and decorated nicely, with everything we needed for a long weekend.

The accommodation was very unclean upon arrival: shower drain clogged with hair and gunk, bedding stained, covered in pet hair and odorous, insects dead and alive, moldy shower grout, outside trash was so full we could not dispose our waste, washing machine was odorous and detergeant tray very unclean, shower exhaust fan completley caked with dust so that no air flow could occur.
