This hotel is really a nice experience. it was clean, the breakfast is so huge it makes you wonder how it's all possible every day. There is more food than you could ever even taste in a few days time. There is an somewhat upscale "retail village" for lack of a better term just over the bridge, which features many lanes of retail shops all set off in its own village type road system. The staff was helpful, and I had absolutely no complaints in the 8 days I stayed there. Staying in the higher end hotels usually provides you with navigation of issues with English enabled staff, this is more helpful than you might think if you are ever in need of something, and there is no one who speaks English. I would suggest this be considered when booking in China.
There are quite a few positives associated with a stay at this hotel, but unfortunately it is let down by a couple of details. First the positives. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good level of amenities such as restaurant, lounge bar with coffee shop, ATM machine, swimming pool etc. So on the face of it, it is a nice place to stay. Now for the negatives. The internet is very slow and patchy. It often takes over a minute to load a web page and e-mail seems to arrive in batches when the connection is active rather than updating all of the time. As well as this, I was concerned about the hygiene in the kitchen as I had an upset stomach for most of the 4 weeks I stayed at the hotel. I did occasionally eat elsewhere, but most of my meals were taken at the hotel. What sealed it for me was seeing the restaurant manager walking out of the toilet without washing his hands. Up to that time I was willing to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt, but this really put me off eating in the restaurant. It's a shame as the reception staff, the housekeeping staff, and the bar staff were great. The internet and restaurant just let the place down.
Was staying for 1 night, ended up staying for 3. We had room 638 non smoking, it's a massive room with a garden view. The view was very ordinary with empty water fountains and poorly maintained gardens, I would have chosen a lake view next time. The business lounge on level 9 was very nice and the girl from Serbia was very helpful, I can't say the same for the breakfast staff. I went down at 9.30 am and the girl Said to me breakfast ?we close in 30 minutes quickly please. Hmmmm it was a good variety with a mix of western and Asian cuisine. I was rushed so I took a plate and asked for a Coffee Latte and it was awful. The lobby is beautiful they have a nice cocktail bar and club in the front. Room has a big bath and separate shower. What is annoying is they knock so early for laundry. They have an Indoor pool and well equipped gym. There is an Irish pub behind the hotel with a host of small Chinese restaurants. So we found out on the last night that over the bridge there are plenty of restaurants with nice lake views. I would stay here again.
I am here with work for 3 months, having booked in 2 weeks ago. While it is a plush looking, marble clad edifice, totalling 300+ rooms. Wonderful, grand reception area, various bars/lounges and the usual selection of eating environments, it really misses the point of an easy stay. There is one cash machine (frequently out of service), and while this is not the end of the world, reception will not cash on cards (although you can pay your bills on them, or book through your room with the added expense), offering instead a "fairly short walk down the road" to some unsecured cash machine.( oh and by the way, they don't except "old £20 notes" for exchange, although they could not tell me how they dated them other than " they looked older"!) The reception seems to rely on people to smile at you to make whatever problem go away. Within 3 months I will have earned enough points to elevate me to supernova level, and although they have the booking in advance, because I have no points on arriving and this being a single stay, I have no access to the amenities or benefits that will come in due time. I could book out for the weekend and book back in again and achieve these levels well within my 3 month stay , so the staff tell me! Says something if they are willing to see you leave so they can welcome you back again at a different level). As always, it's the easy to fix, simple common sense approach that seems to leave a "good hotel" miles apart from a " above average experience" that you might expect.
Room : the only consolation as it's big grand with bathtub and 2 tv. Lounge: good. Reception: slow. Disorganised. Although there are 7 pax group booking, it's not prepared upfront. Shuttle: from Beijing to hotel, coach broke down. Sent another coach with customers u turn back to fetch the rest. Given 50% off.. imagine 3 hrs on road. F&B level 2: inattentive staff. Doesn't seem to know basic job scope. No smile etc. Left plates not cleared and standing there to wait for the sun to rise. Let's see what happens at breakfast tomorrow. Something is wrong with this IHG hotel.
Had an extended stay here for a business trip in China. There is a beautiful lake with walking paths all around across the road from this hotel. An outlet mall, with many high end lines, is within easy walking distance. The room was large, clean and well appointed. The breakfast buffet included both Asian and western foods with made to order eggs, fresh fruit, fried rice, fried noodles, a variety of meats, breads, yogurts and salads. Well worth a visit.
Very good hotel and very nice views over the lake. We were there attending my sons wedding to his Chinese (now) wife. The service and facilities were excellent we would certainly visit there again. Highly recommended.
The staffs are extremely helpful. They arranged a cab for me early in the morning 5am. The distance is a bit far from the Airport, require 50 RMB for a cab to go there if you are leaving early morning, doubling the usual fee. Took around 25 RMB to get there, usual business hours. Room is extremely spacious, good buck for the price you pay. Not much else to do in the area. Entertainment channels in the room is just very average.
Located in the free trade zone area of Tianjin, this hotel is enormous and quite new. The rooms are very big and comfortables, the restaurant is ok. A good solution for some customer visit in the area (not for visit rhe city).
Was here lately for business trip. It's been a while since I stayed in crowne plaza chain of hotel. Service was not too bad room was nice. Bed was great had a quiet sleep. Chinese food at the restaurant was not too bad.
