My husband, 7 year old son and I stayed at this property for two nights to attend a wedding also at the property. I was a little worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews. But, I was pleasantly surprised. Like the last reviewer said - this is Crookston - not a major city with 5 star hotels but it certainly was about as h igh end as you can get in the area. The staff was very nice, the room size was fine for us. Two beds, a nightstand, a desk, dresser, microwave, fridge, TV and place to hang clothes. Lots of plug ins for phone/ipad chargers The room was clean. The air/heat unit worked fine. We had a window facing the outside so we were also able to get plenty of fresh air as well. The beds/bedding WAS SO COMFORTABLE! The duvet was a nice touch. There is a full length mirror in the room - which was great when getting dressed up for the wedding. The only thing I did not like about the room is that the sink was literally next to the door and there really is no vanity. Some shelving would be nice. As for noise - the hotel was completely sold out and considering that, it was pretty quite. We could here a little noise from the hallway and i heard an alarm in the next room but nothing woke us up. There were dogs on our floor and I did not hear any of their noise unless i was actually in the hallway. The hotel is only two floors, no elevator - just something to keep in mind if you have a lot of stuff. The pool was great. You don't have to walk through the lobby to get to it which we were very happy about. The wedding reception was beautiful. So nicely decorated, and the food was awesome! The "lounge" poured a good drink and also very friendly staff. We definitely would stay here again if in the area.
This place is a throwback to when mtv played music videos. The people are super nice and prices in the lounge aren't bad. Don't expect the Waldorf, Crookston is a long way from NYC. If they do upgrade soon, I hope they start with the showers. Low water pressure and inconsistent temperature. The pool area is very nice and I like that some of the rooms open straight to it.
We randomly selected this hotel because they had a lounge and kitchen and were also pet friendly. The room was decent and our meal and beer in the lounge was very good. Very friendly service! We will defiantly stay again.
We stayed twice this year at the Crookston Inn. Neither time could we adjust the heat-we were told it was centrally controlled. The remote control did not work and could not be reprogrammed-we had to get another one. There was no fan to drown out the outside/hall and other room noise. We could hear the couple in the room next us having sex. Breakfast was ok, parking was ample. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, but only coffee was provided. There was coffee in the breakfast room but no tea-I had to ask for tea everytime I waned it. There was not rubber mat for the shower-I was afraid of falling each time I entered and exited the shower. Staff were very nice and courteous. The manager helped me get onto the internet.
Stayed for a class reunion. Nice people. Garish, mismatched decore in need of total makeover. Clean, but outdated and rough around the edges. I expected more based on online photos. Convenient location.
great fun to see old area again. Hotel is convenient to major roads, shopping and gas. Several eating places nearby and University of Crookston U fo M campus is nearby, Lots of parking and free continental breakfast.
The family decided to try an Easter buffet this year and chose the Crookston Inn: what a great choice! We had reservations for 1 p.m.; our table was ready, our waitress attentive and the food fantastic. Everything was so well organized: the food, customers' seating and the serving tables. The wide choice of food provided a favorite for everyone. Would definitely go there again!
We had a great time here. We really did. Being from Canada during Spring Break, we really wanted to avoid the crowds of shoppers in Grand Forks and Fargo, so we looked at Crookston for our family get away. We are very happy that we did. This place is clean and very well maintained. The rate on this hotel was fantastic. Being mid week, we had the pool to ourselves some of them time which we loved. Staff was very friendly and every person we ran into said hello and was very polite. The lounge was lots of fun and the on site restaurant has the best food in town! We were very pleased with our room and found it to be spacious, comfortable and clean. Best deal on a room we have had for years! We will definitely return.
We stayed a couple of nights this past weekend. There were some issues at check-in but these were resolved by the manager who was very courteous and seemed like he generally cared about our concerns. I think the hotel will be great when the remodeling is completed. The portions which have been remodeled look very modern. The pool was also nice and warm and my son loved playing in that (shallow end is about 3ft deep). The only suggestion I have is the back entry door should be better secured for possible safety and liability reasons. Side note: I really appreciate the hotel being pet friendly. We chose the hotel primarily for that reason as the other two hotels in town do not allow pets.
Location was great near all amenities and close to downtown. Hotel great for large groups like ours. Super staff and great food. Close to restaurants and plenty of parking for buses. Will come back again.
