I liked the location of the hotel which was convenient for the purpose of my trip and therefore I booked it. I stayed in superior double room which was spacious with one queen bed. The room had iron board, safe-box, mini fridge and coffee maker. I suppose paper cups for coffee/tea was due to ecology nevertheless I would prefer normal spoon instead of wooden stick in 4-star hotel. Accompanying bathroom was also quite big and very clean (as of toiletries just soap, shampoo and conditioner but no body lotion!). Free wifi worked just nicely. The check-in was smooth and quick, the receptionist was really professional, helpful and friendly. I booked a room without a breakfast so was really suprised when during check-out another receptionist tried to charge me with the breakfast table. She asked me three times obviously not believing me, even asking whether I had not enter the breakfast hall at 6.21 - mind you, I was told previos night that breakfast is served starting 6.30 if I wish to have it. I understand that mistakes happen so something must have been registered wrongly but I really resented the attitude.
We stayed here for 6 nights while my wife was working at the convention center right next door (a clear glass door connects the two from the breakfast room!). The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was fine with a view and a window that opened. The breakfast buffet was very nice with lots of choices and a station for do-it-yourself fresh orange juice making (just cut and insert into the electric machine and out comes your fresh juice). The location is far from the center of The Hague, about halfway between Scheveningen (and the beach) and the center of town. Yet, just two blocks away is a tram that goes to both (one in each direction) for a very easy commute. There's nothing else within easy walking distance (although my wife and I were able to walk to the hotel from Scheveningen on a particularly nice evening). They also have a few bicycles for free use available through the front desk. Really best if you are working at the convention center or don't mind driving from and to the hotel.
The room amenities are ok but no washcloths, only small paper cups for coffee (seems odd) but glass for wine and drinks, plastic cups in the bathroom. There is an electric kettle and a small fridge. No frills. The staff was great though
The customer service, from entering the hotel until leaving, is excellent. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The gym was OK - it's a private gym, with slightly outdated equipment (and not enough free weights). The breakfast is good - buffet style, and very busy, so it's worth getting down to the restaurant early. The room was nice and large. I did a few hours work at the desk which was comfy. The bathroom was nice, but the shower was broken (I kept forgetting to tell the front desk). The hotel is far from the train station, so if you're planning to use a lot of rail travel, factor this in to journey times. All round the hotel was good.
Really nice settings, location is perfect halfway to city centre through the park and halfway to the beach. You can get to either by foot or by tramway. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The bed is quite comfortable and our request for quite room was taken in account. Breakfast is more than worth the price, contrary to what other reviewers may think, I have a huge appetite and the breakfast/brunch is really worth it and with fresh products only. Def will come back. Thanks!
Stayed at the Novotel Den Haag over Christmas. Fairly easy check in procedure and the staff were helpful and showed us the local tourist attraction and the nearest tram stations. Entered the room and it okay enough space for the bed and extra bed/sofa.. but the extra bed in the room was not very comfortable and you shouldn't bother with it. The next day we managed to upgrade the room to a much better room which had more room and a fully stocked mini room (the choices of wine could have been better). Apart from that the upgraded room was far better, we had breakfast included which was good. Since it was Christmas break it was really busy and so the coffee machines and juice machines were so busy and most of the time I was either waiting in a line for a cup of coffee or waiting for the staff to refill the machines with milk. The food was being refilled quicker which is a positive, and the range of food being served was varied and good. The check out procedure was quick and had no issues, fairly good hotel which is clean and a great location.
Stayed in Novotel a couple of nights and I was very satisfied with the room and the sleeping comfort. The room had everything I need on a business trip. I especially appreciate when there's a iron and ironing board in the room. The location is also good if you're on a conference in the World Forum or visiting EUROPOL. It's also close to the beach of Scheveningen where you can have a nice morning run. It's a bit far to walk into the city centre, but it's well connected by tram. The personnel was also fine and both the check-in and check-out went smoothly. However, I'm used that breakfast, gym and sauna is included in the room price, so I was surprised that they charge almost 20€ extra for the breakfast and 10 for the gym. I understand that they in this way can compete with room rate, but it also should reduce the classification of the hotel and in this way I also felt that it wasn't more than an average hotel.
Excellent hotel on many levels: - the breakfast is nice with a lot of different choices - the rooms are large and very clean - the staff is friendly, though check in for larger groups could be better The only issue I had, was the lack of restaurants in the neighbourhood as the hotel’s choices are very limited.
I stayed three nights in this hotel and everything went fine, friendly staff, large bedroom and quite clean, the two only things that could be improved are: to get on their TV channel list some English speaker country major news channel such as CNN ou BBC, and also to remember to wash the electric kettle in the bedroom. There is no use in provide complimentary coffe/tea facilities if the kettle is dirty even with mold inside. The hotel is about 40 minutes walking to the city centre, or about 15 minutes by tram . A taxi from the hotel to the Hague central train station cost me 15 euros, and from the city centre to the hotel also near 15 euros.
Spent 3 nights in The Novotel World Forum in November. Parking offsite and subcontracted (22.50 Euros per night). Pool - spa is offsite and sub contracted and also for an additional fee. Housekeeping was very erratic about cleaning the room and re-stocking toilet articles, coffee, etc. Front desk personnel were pleasant but not knowledgeable about the property. I expected a typical WOW Novotel experience but turned out to be a do it yourself low budget affair.
