Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station3.0 out of 5.0

This hotel is situated approximately a 6 minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal and minutes from shops, restaurant (stops serving food at by 10 pm) and fun bars. You can also take a nice walk and give your self an architectural tour all the way to the Cube Houses (takes only a half hour to walk there). The hotel staff was polite and helpful. The hotel room was fairly clean had everything we needed. Overall, this is a great value for your money.
Great location for sightseeing, access to Central Station, and restaurants. The staff at the front desk, breakfast crew and cleaning crew were all friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It really shows that they enjoy and care about their jobs. Special thanks to Judith and the very busy breakfast crew!!! They work very hard with few people to put on a great breakfast buffet!
This hotel is well situated and well priced... Rooms are quiet, comfortable, and clean! Breakfast is generous and well varied. Only 3 blocks from the main train station, this is a great place to stay in Rotterdam!
Highly recommended, we had a good stay. The location is really helpful for you travel around Rotterdam. You can walk 2min to the Central Station where you can rent a bike and go everywhere. The hotel has bikes to rent as well for €16 per day. The parking car is €23.50 per day and it's recommends to book in advance. The bedroom had a very nice view, clean, brand new bedsheets and pillows. But didn't have a fridge. Staff team are very friendly and helpful, they gave a map to us and many tips about what to do.
Booked a room for 2 nights in the Holiday inn express in Rotterdam but on arrival they didn’t have the room as the hotel overbooked the rooms. They send me to another hotel further away from where I was supposed to be going while in Rotterdam, they also only offer the other hotel for one night when I book the room for 2, meaning I then had to check out from the 2nd hotel to travel to the holiday inn express and check in again. We received a terrible service and they refuse to give us a refund. The manager refuse to speak to us and was no where to be seeing. Will never ever stay in a holiday inn hotel. Worst hotel experience I had ever had. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. You will be hugely disappointed...
After a long day for business abroad, I arrived at the Holiday Inn Express after midnight, looking forward to some sleep. Reception told me they did not have a room. When I said I had a reservation, they said the hotel was overbooked, and that management does this all the time. They proposed to stay in the Ibis Budget Rotterdam The Hague Airport hotel. I told them I had a breakfast meeting at 6.30 AM with 2 colleagues in Holiday Inn to prepare for a meeting and that their proposal was not acceptable for me. At that point my colleague also arrived. She had called at 10.30 PM to check whether her (reserved) hotel room was indeed available. "No problem", was the response at 10.30 PM. When she arrived reception simply announced that her room also was taken by someone else. We were perplexed. Only after refusing several alternatives by the reception (e.g.: could you stay together in 1 room, although we know you are not husband and wife and some other bad alternatives ) did we end up somewhere else (specifically the Mariott and Premier Suites Rotterdam). We lost more than 1 hour sleep. Never again.
I was here for a night on business - and enjoyed my stay. The room was small, but perfectly adequate, with a nice bathroom including all amenities (hair dryer, shower gel etc.). If you do not need luxury, this is what you want, a decent choice for breakfast included. The only annoying thing was - once again, as so often in hotels - the lift situation: of the four incredibly slow elevators, two were out of order. Getting from the third floor to the reception (on the first) took more than five minutes. The lobby being not on the ground floor is highly inconvenient, especially with a steep and narrow staircase leading up there, and these annoyingly slow lifts. Otherwise: all good.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful — but the standout here is the complimentary breakfast. It was the highlight of every day we stayed: fresh-baked bread, delightful pastries, hagelslag, squeeze-your-own fresh orange juice. Special thanks to Judith from the breakfast team for making us feel welcome and taken care of.
There isn't a whole lot to talk about with a basic hotel like this. The location is decent for being close to downtown stuff and about a 5-7 minute walk from the train station. There isn't much food within 5 minutes, but there is a grocery store about 2 minutes away. Sadly, however, there is no fridge in the room (there is an ice maker on the reception floor). The room itself was a standard euro room. Bed was comfortable enough although the pillows were nothing to write home about. TV had the normal English news channels. Bathroom had a nice big shower with good water pressure and hot water. No bars of soap or body lotion provided. Just that awful shampoo/body wash combo in the shower. Kettle and tea provided. No kleenex in the room. Breakfast is included and was OK. Coffee/tea/juice. Fruit (kiwis, pears, and oranges). Yogurts and a selection of breads. Hard boiled eggs and cereals. Enough to fuel up for the morning. OVerall, it was just OK...which is about what you expect for this brand.
This hotel was the perfect choice for Rotterdam and Rotterdam Centraal, as it's on ly a few minutes walk from the station. By the way, from this station you can reach many great cities like Leiden, The Hague, Delft, Gouda, etc The hotel is great, very modern, we had a great room with a nice clean bathroom , excellent wifi and breakfast was superb. Great choice.
