Like many times before we visited for the weekend the lovely beach around Scheveningen and stayed in this Hotel where we used to be often before. It is a bit old but the rooms are completly renovated. It is located quite near to the beach which is very usefull. But in thing is everytime annoying us: we Booked early check in (whatever this may mean in this hotel). We arrived at 11.45. The madame told us check in is available from 12.00 o clock because they are very busy with People checking out (there was no one trying to check out around). Ok we waited this 15 min then we went back. Right next to us someone was checking in. The Same madame now told us check is was just possible from 15.00 o clock. Telling her that the others actually are able to check in now she told us these were other rooms and again there were too many People checking out (incredible lie, no one was there). I think we will Not come back because this is just ridiculous. And it was Not the First Time like this
Very nice short stay. We had our room upgraded to a more luxurious room. Staff very efficient and friendly. Fab swimming pool and sauna. There is also a beauty salon. Food good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This lovely hotel seems a bit ages..which is a pity because I love the location. This time we stayed in a seaview deluxe room on the 5th floor. View was nice, great balcony and spacious room. Breakfast was also good. Unfortunately there was some unpleasant smell on the floor we were staying in. I'm guessing it came from the bathroom/toilet. It's seems like they have problem with the drainage. We reported this to FO and they sent people to check our bathroom. But then I noticed it was not only in our room, but I also smell it on the hall. I believe this hotel needs major renovation, I really hope they do...
The location is the best. Walking distance to the beach and all cafe/restaurants around the hotel. The staffs are friendly, the room and facilities (swimming pool, fitness and sauna) are clean. The check in/check out is quite slow since there is only 2 staff and lots guests.
Lovely area and had the potential to be a great stay. I was there for business and noticed that my shower was broken - the water was spraying everywhere but onto me. I let the reception know so they could fix it for my remaining day stay. Unfortunately, they didn't get around to it and this really annoyed me. I mentioned this at check out and nothing was done in terms of a gesture or to make it up to me. I would not stay here again unless I was forced to.
It is probably one of my favourite hotels in Europe! I used it many times for professional reasons but it is great for families too. Its deadly weapon is its position, just on the dune of Kijkduin, facing the sea, hearing the waves. Easy to reach, with a reserved parking (price in line with other hotel parkings, however it could be possible also to park outside, maybe not easily in sunny summer days), around there are a lot of restaurants and bars and amenities for children, and it enjoys also its own summer terrasse in front of the sea. My room was exceptional, high floor with a view spanning from Rotterdam to Scheveningen. Clean, comfortable, with a master bathroom. Staff is nice. Breakfast can answer any need, with any food or drink you may like. Price is not cheap at all, but is understandable because of the position and the summer period. I just would appreciate some make-up or refurbishments in the common areas of the lobby and floors, that seem a bit "aged" and do not match with the usual corporate image of NH.
After staying last year I decided to return to this hotel on the coast. Once more it was a very enjoyable stay. When we arrived at check in we had the offer of having rooms up on a higher floor with a better view. Reception staff was very helpful. We were using public transport and the very regular number 24 bus takes you right into the city centre. You can get a day ticket for unlimited use of busses and trams for 6.50 Euros. The breakfast buffet is very good and a great choice for all. The star of the hotel staff is head barman Rashid, who could not do enough for you. A very hard working friendly man and can make a great cocktail. He is a great asset to the Hotel so please look after him. The only down side with regards to the hotel is the paint work could do with freshening up in some of the public areas and rooms. Starting to look a bit tired. Other than that it was a great stay.
Checkin is the worst I've had in any hotel in 40+ years. Problem is with hotel's system - not personnel. Room was really very very well furnished, clean, etc. The hotel is only 2 minutes from the brach where you will find some very good 'beach tents' serving quite good food and reasonable prices. But bad for the hotel because it's own resturant only gets good business when the weather is foul!
Nice hotel directly located at the beach. Its a bit dated but well maintained. Rooms are ok, prices are a bit high. Staff are professional and friendly. The beach has many beachclubs. The hague is close and reachable by bus. Great hotel for a holiday at the beach.
We have relatives in the area and have stayed at this hotel many times in the last 10 years - our most recent visit however was disappointing We arrived late in the evening after a delayed flight and had some hassle checking in as 'the hotel system shows only a deposit as you booked on expedia'. We also gave my husbands NH loyalty details (and they remarked how many times he had stayed) yet we weren't given the normal room upgrade - despite the hotel being very quiet for the 3 days we were there Instead we had a ground floor room with a view over the car park situated above a staff area with constantly clattering and noise (room 26). It is honestly the worst hotel room I have had in a long time and far below the level of those we have had at the Atlantic previously. The rooms are big enough and clean is a little tired and dated but little things were overlooked such as replenishing toiletries each day (and its a bit inconvenient to have to ask reception to arrange for some to be bought to your room when its 4am and you have an early check out). All in all this is an ok hotel - there aren't many others in the area which means there is no competition to keep it on its toes. One final plea to management - please either sort some ventilation for or close the toilets in reception, everytime you walk back into the hotel you are met with the foul stench of other peoples ablutions - its really not pleasant !
