My family spent 5 days on the island. We are all flexible travelers who have traveled around the world and appreciate camping to 5 star hotels. The good · Really beautiful island that was very well landscaped · Great snorkeling off the dock. Health reef. Nice wall for diving · Good kayaking · Nice open family room area and dining room on the water. Kitchen worked fine and was adequately appointed. Beach side of the island has a nice beach and was great for swimming · Boat captain was great and knew the area well · Number of decent grocery stores are close The bad · The roosters! The island has 2 or 3 roosters. They woke us up every morning between 3:45 and 4:15 and kept crowing until 8am. This drove our group crazy. Not a vacation waking up at 4am! · Housekeeper did not come for the entire 5 day stay (supposed to be every other day). The bathrooms were getting bad. · You could hear loud music from the mainland until around 10pm every night. · Mosquitos were pretty bad, and there were holes in some of the mosquito netting · Cats were annoying. · Grill was an open fire pit with a grate. Conclusion The island is a special place, but we felt there was a big disconnect between the price and what you get. We had a nice stay, but all felt it was way overpriced for a little more than a private campground.
