Very satisfied with the room and amenities provided. Friendly staff and good check in experience. My only criticism involves parking. They seem to be a strange arrangement of disabled parking and some of the spaces are further away from the door than normal spaces. My biggest criticism is there is only one way in to the hotel. Most places I have stayed at have multiple entrances and exits to accommodate the need to park in different areas of the lot. Also, when I did leave through an exit only door, I found it was not latched and closed properly. It was during the day but had it remained that way anyone could have entered without a key and not in view of the front desk.

I am not one to typically leave reviews, but my stay at the Holiday Inn Terre Haute was certainly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. It began with trying to check in. No one was at the front desk, I waited and called for more than half an hour - nothing. Then when someone finally showed up, she checked me in, and let me know that the other employee onsite had quit. I felt this was weird considering there were papers strewn across the desk, cash laying near the computer, and a half eaten pizza near the front desk. Why is there only one employee on the premises anyway? The woman told me she would be giving me a discount due to the long wait and inconvenience - which did not happen. The condition of the room itself was unacceptable. Dirty bed, dirty bathroom, and it had a sour dingy smell. When trying to take a shower there was absolutely zero hot water, I let the water run for a bit, hoping it just needed a moment - no hot water AT ALL. Went to sleep feeling absolutely defeated. I reached out online to the hotel to discuss my experience and was told someone would reach out - they never did. Do not recommend staying here, just an overall unacceptable experience for $160 a night.

I’ve stayed here twice now. Very clean. Pool was well cared for. Friendly staff. Best continental breakfast of any hotel I’ve stayed at in the past decade or so. Quiet. Close to restaurants/stores. Definitely a repeatable road trip layover spot.
