Candlewood Suites Terre Haute

This suite was incredibly clean and well-equipped. I dropped a bottle of juice ALL OVER--they were up in a minute and cleaned everything up--spotless--So nice about it! I think I would have been a little cranky if I had to take care of the glass and the mess I made.

I loved being able to cook my own meals at the hotel. My wife and I weren't feeling well and it was nice to be able to stay in. We had access to laundry facilities, easy parking, and were close to all that was available through downtown. There were movies available to borrow, though the DirecTV made it so we really didn't need to borrow any. On the negative--several times through the night, a train would roll through town blaring its horn, waking us up. The beds weren't comfortable, and one of our pillowcases had someone else's hair on it. Oddly, there was no trash can in the bathroom. Still, it's likely we'll stay here again when we return to Terre Haute. We have been disappointed staying elsewhere and this is a nice place overall.

Just as promised at a good price. All hotel rooms are too expensive.

It was much better than expected, Much better than south 3rd if you are not just stopping over night on I 70.

We chose to stay in Terre Haute when visiting the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival even though it meant a 30 minute drive each way because these accommodations were much nicer than the small-town places for the same price. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly staff member...check-in was a breeze. The room was quite large with a full kitchen and a DVD player (a definite plus). The hotel also has an extensive video library which you can borrow for free if you don't want to bring your own or find a Redbox location. The only negative was that they don't clean the room every day which wasn't really a big deal for us as they are quite willing to give you clean towels and/or linens if you ask.

The only down fall of this hotel is that there is not breakfast included

perfect location for visiting ISU, clean room, comfortable beds

The night clerk was absolutely terrific and the maid service could not have been nicer.

The comfort of the room is the absolutely best feature of this hotel. The high ceilings and comfortable furniture make it feel as if you are in a home, not a hotel. I will stay here every time I am in Terre Haute.

I initially booked a 2 bed suite thinking I was booking a 2 bedroom suite. The front desk staff "Maddie" was very helpful and changed our room to a queen suite. Every staff member was helpful and very courteous. The only drawback to Candlewood is there is no continental breakfast.

The suite-style room was very handy for storing and microwaving some food I brought along. Some of the rooms are also being used for dorm rooms by ISU students. Unfortunately for me, a downtown block party was going on just outside the hotel the night before I had to get up at 5:00 am to catch a flight -- it made finding a parking spot and sleeping very difficult. It was the best deal I found fairly close to Rose-Hulman -- a five minute drive.

Beautiful hotel, impeccable service. And LOW COST, too. What?? Did I wake up and find myself in a perfect hotel room for less than a $100? I will definitely stay here again.

Easy check in and out process and the service was great.
