It's rare to feel so welcome and well taken care of when traveling. Yolanda was delightful and full of great tips. Our best meals in town were always the result of her suggestions. She went the extra mile to make our visit memorable.
Yolanda is the best hostess! Her breakfast is always delicious, and she makes you feel so welcome. She is also a wealth of information on where to eat, or what to do! We have stayed with her many times, and have never been disappointed.
We love this Bed and Breakfast the place is clean out of the business of Taos but a short 5 min drive to the middle of everything. Yolanda is the owner and she is a sweet breath of fresh air greats you as a stranger and says good bye as family. We have stayed 2 times and both have been wonderful stays the room is very large plenty of room to stretch out. The Breakfast is awesome and the salsa that she made best ever!!!
This bed and breakfast was highly recommended by a friend, but our experience was disappointing. On the positive, the inn is quiet and has a rural feel with a prairie dog town on property. Another guest we met had been back many times. I booked 2 rooms which had to be prepaid (no refund in case of cancellation) and requested a room confirmation be e-mailed. It took 2 additional requests before I received it. I was disappointed that the only available wi fi is in the dining room. The patio had plastic chairs. In our suite, the bedside clock did not work, and there was no coffee maker. There was a tiny TV on the floor in the sitting area. Breakfast was granola with fruit. Hot water was provided for tea and coffee. Later, the owner brought in a tasty hot breakfast casserole and a pastry. The stay was O.K.; but for the price, we'll stay elsewhere if we return.
Wonderful host, delicious breakfasts, and delightful room (adobe style). The room had beautiful woodwork and was very quiet. The location is on the outskirts of Taos, very rural and pleasant. Some fixtures in room are dated but it was very nice.
We stayed two nights at the Taos Country Inn B& B. It was great! The host, and owner, Yolanda...couldn't have been any nicer. She is so accommodating, and helpful with anything you need to know about Taos and the surrounding area. She provides great recommendations for restaurants and attractions. And she cooks a hot breakfast for her guests every morning, along with a very nice buffet containing a nice assortment and variety of items. The B&B itself is very charming and completely immerses you in the Southwest decor and style. It is located just a short drive (5 minutes at most), out from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area, in a secluded, quiet, wonderful location. Nice, peaceful, serene setting. We loved our experience here and will definitely return on our next visit to Taos. You won't be disappointed.
We had booked a one night stay for our anniversary through Booking.com and were charged the full price at the time of booking. No problem. Two days before our anniversary my husband became violently ill with a stomach ailment and was unable to travel. We called immediately to cancel the reservation. We understood there was a cancelation fee. But because we did not cancel 7 days prior we were not entitled to any refund whatsoever. Very disappointing news. Thank goodness we booked only for 1 night. An expensive lesson, not to be repeated.
Wow. First of all, if I had to rate the innkeeper herself, I would give her a 10. She is a lovely, delightful woman. However, we are baffled by the absolute disconnect between the previous reviews of the Inn and our actual experience of staying there. Our room was completely outdated, dirty, and in disrepair - numerous burned out light bulbs, cracked tiles, torn and stained carpeting, dead flies on the bedroom floor, a dead cockroach in the bathroom, and someone else’s hair in the bathtub. We were so grossed out that we slept on top of the bedding. Based on the previous reviews, I don’t know if this was just some sort of weird anomaly or what. In any case, we will not be returning.
A wonderful B&B to stay at, close to the Plaza and heart of Taos, but just far enough from the traffic and lights - You can see some beautiful stars at night! Yolanda is a wonderful host, she cares for you like you’re part of her family. Breakfast served every day is hearty and warm (her blueberry pancakes were my favorite) with some lighter options too (some fruit, cheese and granola). The rooms were clean, warm and spacious - the house is a beautiful, traditional adobe style with custom, one-of-a-kind finishes so don’t go expecting “new and modern”! Very Cool, Very Taos. I will return!!!
An outstanding feature of Taos Country Inn is the profound quiet. The Inn is located off the beaten track of Taos, surrounded by fields. No traffic, no helicopters or planes, no nearby neighbors. Quiet. Dark – perfect for star-gazing. Just a short drive to all the action, though. The suites are charming and cozy – queen or king size beds in large rooms with nice linens, lovely ceilings and fine sitting rooms with fireplace. Public spaces include a wonderful great room with huge windows and plenty of board games, and the eating area which we used for nightly card games. Both of those rooms are far enough from sleeping rooms that they remain quiet. It is New Mexico charming, with tile, carved wood, plank and viga ceilings, and Indian and Spanish décor. Not fully accessible to wheelchairs.
