Despite some lovely decor and features, this is not a 4* hotel and does not represent value for money in my opinion. Rooms were small and fixed with masking tape, toiletries limited to a combination shampoo/shower gel/soap dispensers and rooms were not cleaned every day. Very disappointing.
We stayed at Baron's for a week and it had many issues. My son found a bug on his pillow which we preserved and took to the management next morning. Next night we had fire alarm to go off 3:19 am and the young kids working front desk did not know how to turn it off! Service staff was nice but they didn't use deodorant or take showers and it was unpleasant to talk to them. The lighting in the bathroom was dim, hard to put any make up on or see clearly. Bathroom towels were so worn out and old! No wash cloths either, had to go to the store to buy couple. We will not stay there again.
lovely old world hotel taken from a miss marple story, there is a lift from the 1920's,sweeping staircase and a revolving entrance door. The staff were very helpful and professional and nothing was too much trouble for them.Breakfast was varied and catered for all needs.Being in the middle of the old town makes it easy to see all the sights within walking distance.
Calling this hotel 'boutique' is pretty misleading. It's a decent 3* hotel, decorated in the 1990s and not updated since. Check-in took about 30mins as they couldn't find our booking. We were eventually given a room on the first floor (second in Estonia), which was mostly very cold (despite turning up the heating), had incredibly soft and uncomfortable beds and the curtains didn't even begin to cover the windows, which meant the room was always light. Breakfast was decent and the location is excellent. The building being an old bank gave it intriguing character. Value-wise it was pretty good, but I wouldn't stay again.
Arriving, the lobby smelled a little weird setting the mood for our one night stay. The staff was very neutral with everything. We stayed at a room on the second floor which was unpleasant. The decor was outdated in a unflattering way instead of the stylish boutiquesqe we expected. After changing to a suite the mood and decor was a lot similar, but the view down the street and the larger room made it more cozy. The breakfast was very delicious!
It's all down to the position of this hotel.. Everything else about the hotel is average, but adequate and all that is required for a city break. One step outside and you are in the heart of the old town, which is a beautiful example of medieval Europe. I would definitely stay at the hotel again as its so well positioned..
A brilliantly located and characterful hotel, located in the Old Town of Tallinn with good access to the City and major links (airport / train) The hotel has an imposing and beautiful presence amongst the cobbled streets of Tallinn, instantly recognisable and having a cultured history previously being used as a bank. The hotel welcomes you with an old revolving door, with the staff being most welcoming and helpful. An old wire framed lift takes you up to all floors, a quirky feature even if my first experience of using it was becoming trapped in the lift for a couple of minutes before it started to work again. The room was serviceable, a comfortable double bed and bathroom with views overlooking the City. I was on the 5th floor and there were no noise issues experienced at all during my stay. On my first evening, I returned to the room to find a plate of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. Breakfast was a continental style Buffett with a selection of cold meat and cheeses, cereals, some hot buffet items and juices / coffee / tea. For setting you up for the morning, it was just right for what was needed. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, at the front of the building and provides you views over the nearby streets. The room was cleaned and serviced each day and as a location always felt very safe. For travellers looking for a hotel with character and a few quirky features, this is the place for you and also an affordable city centre location to stay at.
There is a bar/club on the other side of the narrow street that plays music very loudly all night long. So if you want to sleep you will need earplugs. Hen they close a lot of noisy drunken persons stay in the square outside the hotel talking and arguing noisily. The location is good in the center of the old town.
Nice hotel in the old town. We ahd a very short stay but for sure will visit this hotel again with more time. Its situated few steps from all you need, nice restaurants, pubs, shoping etc. The interiör has something similiar with "old Uk hotels visited By Ms Marple".
This hotel is in a beautiful building in a great location a minute's walk from Town Hall Square. We stayed in a deluxe room which was incredibly spacious but lacked natural light; there were no windows only a skylight. The bed and bedding were warm and comfortable, but the bathroom towels were a bit thin and old. The breakfast was ok but the dining room is very dated and doesn't have a "boutique hotel" atmosphere. One morning when I went to have a shower at 9am there was no hot water left. Some staff were very friendly and spoke good English.
