More of a boutique hostel experience.Top floor of a commercial/office building. Common area with view looking north up Dunhua Road and Taipei Arena. Can hang out in common area, drink tea (filtered cold/warm/hot water dispenser), and eat prepared food from the options in the area, including the ubiquitous convenience stores, and traditional market with upstairs food court at the SE corner opposite of the Taipei City Arts Promotion building. Was visiting family, and stayed four nights in a clean and basic room with a queen bed, private bathroom, and a view overlooking the Taipei Arena complex. I would have gone for a run at the public track right across the street, but was recovering from a cold. Was able to check-in at late w/o problem as flight was late. Things to note: No food in hotel itself. Not all rooms have a window. If come or leave during the evening, you will share the elevator with people perfumed with beer and cigarettes, as the building has a bar and hostess club.
Very clean, enough privacy, very good location, good value for the price. In the single rooms, I would add more decorations or carpet to make the rooms more cozy. And for my personal opinion the aircon was a bit too cold.
Liked · The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Taipei Arena which was perfect for me after attending a concert that night. The bed sheets are nice and so I found the bed very comfortable. I had a room that offered a view on Taipei 101 Tower (it is far away but still, the view is amazing!), so I really liked that! The hotel provides towels, soap, shampoo, a bottle of water, toothbrush, comb, hairdryer. Disliked · The walls and door are perhaps a bit thin so I could hear people passing in front of the room sometimes but I usually sleep deeply so it did not disturb me that much. The hotel is located on the last floor of the building, you may find it slightly difficult to find the building. (If the hotel can provide some indications by email on where the hotel is located, that would be great.) Otherwise, you can just use Google Maps, it is just at the corner, next to Toyota.
It is one of those places I would not think of going but circumstances made me end up here for a night, and I finished up staying nearly a month. The most friendly and efficient staff, service as could as you can expect from a hostel, but , in Taiwan, one of the best places to stay. Cozy lobby, nice atmosphere, simple rooms, but very clean, people who care running the place. I always stay at 5 stars, sometimes 4, and than I ended up here, and although I did go back for 2 days in this period to Sherwood, one of the best in Taiwan, i returned here, The price is very low, for good, but honest , simple service. No frills, no breakfast even, but free coffee and tea in the lounge, a little drink fridge. i recommend it to someone who travels on his own for 3 to 5 days. My circumstances were different, a month is too long for everyone in Taiwan, actually 3 days in that place is too long. But if you have too...ou.
We arrived by cab from the main station. Check-In was efficient and took about 2min. Room (Type Kelly) is with a great view. There are plenty of busses leaving from the intersection to all parts. Coffee shop is 100m away, although the hotel offers feee tea and coffee. You can also get a beer (can) to sip in your room, while observing life in the streets below. It is very clean and the bathroom has a bathtub in front of a panoramic window. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend MEI STAY.
The hotel at the highest floor of a large building. It is close the the MRT station and the neighborhood are is very safe and quiet. I had a private room. It is a good value for money : clean, cozy, quiet, comfortable enough and view on the 101 Tower. The staff was very helpful with all my questions about the city and they provided good recommendations
Meistay is located on a floor of an old building. The common area is quite cozy and comfortable. My room is Ok with no view, it is a very basic room to be honest. By considering for the room price, I would not recommend to stay here, I would rather stay in a proper hotel instead.
Standard, price reflects quality type of deal with this place. It's cheap, is in a building that is convenient (albeit right at the top). I found it to be very clean, and at that price its the only thing I really ask of budget guesthouses. That said, noise travels very easily, especially in the corner rooms and my sleep quality was not good. Originally had some partyboys a few rooms down, but they were respectful enough to tone it down when asked. The 24 hour nature of the guesthouse is a plus point for those travelers that have reviewed here when arriving at 1 or 2 am, but for the rest of us who are already checked in and trying to get some sleep the constant noise of trolley bags along the floor and doors shutting and late night showers is not ideal. The staff were alright. The wi-fi was good. I wouldn't say I recommend staying here because I've stayed in better, similar priced places in my regular trips to Taipei, but neither would I deter people from staying here because the price and cleanliness is decent. Overall I would say 2.5 - 3 stars.
This place was soo convenient. Check-in can be done until 5 am which was perfect cause we arrived around 1 am in Taiwan. Very cheap. Facilities very modern and clean. On the top floor like a 14th so you have a nice view in the lobby.
“麻雀虽小 五脏俱全” First time stayed in this area but it is convenient to go tourist spot, shopping area via walking distance metro or taxi! The standard room is small but clean with view facing stadium. I am impressed by the gentlemen at reception whom made my stay a warm and friendly one. Overall it is a value stay based on $$ you paid. I will try suite room next time !
