We stopped in for a one-night layover in Taipei. Picked this hotel because it is situated in walking distance to the Rao He night market, which is a favorite with our kids. Room was beautiful and immaculate! Dropped our bags, chilled for an hour, and then off to the night market for eats, drinks, games, shopping. Super fun! And then right back to the airport in the morning. Got a great deal on Orbitz for our stay too! Only caveat to note is, several floors of the hotel's rooms are underground. This worked out great for us as it kept out all freeway noise as hotel is literally next to major highway, which was very loud in lobby and I was worried about. But the underground rooms were perfectly silent. My family was delighted with the windowless hotel room, but for any travelers who might be less cool with a windowless room, make sure to book an above ground room instead.

Room and bathroom were spacious. The bed was clean and firm. The sofa and desk chair looked older and had some questionable stains, not easily noticeable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They do offer breakfast but no in house restaurant. The breakfast isn’t fancy. There are so many great places to eat that in walking distance. That’s the main reason I booked the hotel.

Courteous staff. Where the common areas were bright and modern, the upper floors carried that musty old AC smell. The room was spacious, but dated and in need of an overhaul. The overengineered and underfunctional lighting setup meant the room was always too dim or too bright. Selectively conveniently located a 10-15min walk from Raohe market, metro and Songshan railway, it unfortunately sits at the junction of several major roads and two layers of overpasses going right past the windows, meaning none of those walks ever feel pleasant. Choose for functionality and relative value, maybe not for style.
