This place just feels greasy. The pool is closed for 'sanitation reasons' according to the very high clerk at the front desk who wouldn't even turn down the music he was blasting to answer us. There's practically no breakfast. Just an old, unclean, gross waffle iron that makes soggy waffles covered in soot and grease. No butter, no syrup, no coffee creamer. Get the idea yet? We were on the second floor and the whole floor smelled so strongly of pot smoke that it was horrid. Windows in our room wouldn't close all the way or lock. Room was not clean; including used bars of soap open in the shower, open toiletries, etc. The front desk is worthless if you need anything. They don't even turn down their music, which is blasting and can be heard a floor away. Don't get me started on the neighborhood.

No creamer for the coffee, and the staff can't be bothered to even answer questions about if there are any more of these things. The room carpets make you want to wear shoes 24/7. Strange stains, used soap bars in the showers, open toiletries, and the area can be pretty sketchy. Just.... all of it. No. Stay away.

When we checked in the entire place smelt like marijuana and cigarette smoke even though it was non smoking. The lobby is nice however the room we had was disgusting. Stain on the one and only chair, stains all over the floor carpet, reaked off stale cigarettes. It was so bad that we asked for another room to which they said they had none. The front staff were not being friendly at first when we asked for a refund since they could not accommodate another room. After them finally going and checking out the room themselves they stated this room should be out of order and then were nice and approved a refund for us. The lobby is deceiving. The rest of everything else is old, run down, and dirty. It isn’t the best part of town however about a 2 min drive is the best western plus which was amazing. Very clean, new, full breakfast, bar in lobby and not much more than the Thea.

Loved the comfortability of the hotel. Staff were amazing and great to work with. Great options for continental breakfast. Make your own waffles.....yessss and yum!! Option of drinks, cerial and a breakfast sandwich. Listen best breakfast options ive seen since before covid!! Great pricing, microwave and mini fridge, and 24 hr pool and hot tub(only open to adults during the after hrs. Really nice). Liked it so much we stayed another night. Way better then expected for the area its in. Will definitely be booking again and recommend for future

We had to repeatedly ask for towel refreshes. After the 4th phone call we just went down to the desk ourselves to exchange them. Still on the issue of towels, the the pool was rarely sufficiently supplied. They would run out, we would report that, and yet they would remain empty the rest of the evening. The variety of breakfast items on Friday and Saturday was rather meager. At least on Sunday it was very nicely stocked. Finally, some concern about the area. One in our party went outside to smoke a cigarette since the facility is nonsmoking. They were approached by a person who offered them a sexual favor in exchange for a cigarette. The immediate area on the surface seemed fine, but my understanding is that only a few blocks away it becomes very rough. There appears to be some bleed over of that worse area.
Carpet and chair had stains on it.
Property is definitely going thru renovations. Wish I would of known this beforehand as I wouldn’t of stayed there. Also room was right next to freeway so very loud.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Requested maid service. The room were never touched. You pay good money and could not even get room cleaned. No breakfast provided either. Needless to say I won’t be back.
Staff need some customer service// hospitality training ....not even a good morning or a friendly smile smh

One person on hotel staff was terrible. He threatened multiple times that he would have me removed from the hotel. I had asked him for new key cards because they were demagnetized. The guy is crazy. I called the police because I didn’t feel safe with him on duty. I reported it the staff the next day, but I never heard back from anyone. I will never stay there again. Horrible stay!!!!
Bathrooms definitely need updating, broken tiles and bathtubs looked like the grout needed deep cleaning. Microwaves are so old and not energy efficient, worried we would start an electrical fire by using it. Staff was super nice, room was secure, but having a safe in the room would have made me feel a lot better especially with the hotel being located in the area of Tacoma it is. Loved the veteran parking! Loved the pool & hot tub being open 24-hours. Wish the continental breakfast has a few more options and that the syrup machine was closer to the waffles or the butter/jam bin. Also, there should have been little sauce cups for the syrup so people weren’t forced to rub their freshly made waffle against the machine that everyone has touched. Also, it wasn’t clea what cups should be used for the juice machine. There were cups for the coffee and little clear plastic cups next to the water descender. Not that we are heartless people, but there was a homeless person every few feet or so on the surrounding sidewalks and corners. We also found a razor blade in the parking spot next to us on the hotel grounds.
The only thing I didn't like was the bathtub. It was not comfortable for reclining to soak.

Hello Wade, We would like to apologize for your experience with the smell, we implement a strict no-smoking policy and make sure that guests who violate those are reprimanded. We would appreciate it if these issues were reported during your stay as we could have sent back our cleaners and done a more thorough refresh of the room.
