I keep coming back to this place. Every year I visit the Royal Easter Show I stay here and it is always good. Could it be better? it could but it has everything you NEED; comfortable beds, adequate air conditioning, CLEAN and most of all convenient. This time I had 3 different rooms. First one with a queen size and a single as there were 2 of us, then I had to move into their boarding house as there were no rooms in the main part (I wanted to extend) I was a little worried but I would stay there anytime, it was quieter than the main part and the bathroom bigger. This week I am in a single with just a queen, again its fine. I will be back next year.(God willing)
Spent 3 weeks here. Rooms were very basic. No microwave. Room was enough for sleeping only. The restaurant only served scrambled eggs along with what appeared to be deep friend sausages. Twice a week you had bacon. Baked beans or spaghetti accompanied these every morning. The breakfast i give a 6/10. The dinner i passed on after my 3rd night. Just terrible. I give the dinner 3/10. This was a paid for dinner and i could not bring myself to eat there anymore. You leave a sign not to ha e room service but they do it anyway. The reception staff were polite but minimal contact was made except checkin and out. This place i would avoid if i had my own choice.
The Metro Inn, Ryde is an older style hotel but the rooms a well appointed and very clean. It’s in a great location. Only a five minute drive to Sydney Olympic Park and DFO, and a short walk to Top Ryde shopping centre. The buffet breakfast is only $14.50 and has a good range of hot foods, cereals and fruits.
Wanted to stay in Sydney to see Mama Mia. The parking in the city is scandalous so settled on the Metro in RYDE. Nice clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of off street parking a coffee shop across the road and a bus stop the city (number 520) right out the front. What more could you ask for 👍
We booked this hotel as we need to go the event in Olympic park; The hotel is in good location and closes to all transport ( train station and bus stop 502 is just 2 mins Away) Staff is very friendly in reception. we had the dinner in the restaurant, the food are very nice, price is reasonable with large portion. Room is very clean as well. sharing laundry is provided is handy.
Positives : The housekeepers were friendly and the room was clean. The A/C worked and the window opened about 1/2 way. We ate dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the meals. The shower had good pressure. The communal laundry has a washing machine $3 and dryer $2. Ample parking at the rear of the property. The bus stop to go to Circular Quay is close. Shops are close, about a 5 minute drive away. Negatives : The motel is situated on a main road and so noise was definitely a problem. We had a room facing the road so it woke us up each morning. The security latch has been installed incorrectly. It is vertical and therefore is of no use. They need to be horizontal to work. The pool needs to be cleaned. There is filthy black grime all around the top tiles in the pool. The bed was too hard and the pillow was not comfortable. (This is a personal preference though, so some may not have an issue here.)
Comfortable, clean motel located in Ryde and close to Olympic Park. Free parking. Close to great walking/ cycle path. Restaurant onsite not great with options however, excellent coffee shop across the road and walking distance to Top Ryde shopping centre. Excellent laundry facilities onsite plus has swimming pool.
I travel around Australia ( National Account Manager) and constantly met with the approach that I will steal or damage property. I stayed here a few months ago . Paid in full in advance. Minute I walked through the door, was asked for credit card. Naturally, I asked why ? Incidentals came back the reply ie we reckon you'll thieve and damage. Refused to spend another cent , had every meal out including breakfast. Much to my horror today, I'd booked the same motel by mistake for another 3 nights, again paid in full. Same response. Haven't learnt from my last experience. However, this time it's worse. It's hot in Sydney and they've set air con at 25 degrees. Like a sauna in that room. 39 tomorrow and similar on Thursday. Seriously, give this joint a wide berth. Shocking in all aspects. There are plenty of other places to stay in Sydney. Take this one off your list!!!!
Three of us stayed one night. Booked a double plus sofa bed with breakfast but were upgraded to a 3 bed room. Bathroom was somewhat cosy but the shower was hot and powerful. Room clean, aircon unit good and not too much road noise, even though we had a room facing the road. Breakfast was not spectacular but there was plenty of choice. Good customer service. Only downsides were the too firm for me foam pillows and wi-fi that was patchy to connect (in the morning) and a little slow, but overall I would stay again.
Upon returning to our room after dinner. A loud yelling at our door in the hallway. A man had forgotten something in our room.,when he had checked out. The staff made it into a huge deal. When all they had to do was give the man back the bag he left behind. They the staff went into our room and rummaged through our belongings. Even though the item had been given to the desk earlier for the man to pick up. WTF?
