Great location and nice hotel. Have stayed a few times before and friendly staff and easy to get to work in Sydney. Stayed for 6 nights over new year and rates were fantastic. Will stay again most definitely.
I stayed here for 10 nights over Christmas and New Year. I live round the corner and my family were visiting and stayed at my place. I knew the location would be great (it was!) but I was really nicely surprised at how much I enjoyed staying here. The staff were friendly, the bed was super comfy and the room was modern and well equipped. It was definitely small but the price was fantastic and I could have paid more for a bigger room. I have stayed in much worse hotels and paid a lot more, so was very happy!! I would 100% recommend Hotel Challis and have already been telling all my friends about it when they have family/friends visiting. Thank you for a great stay!
Great location handy to Cafe's and Restaurants. Lovely spacious clean rooms depending on room type. King Balcony is excellent. Everything you need in your room. Staff friendly. Quiet location no noise from other rooms.
Great Hotel. Best location in Sydney at the coolest area. Not down town but within reach of everything . Short walk to the Key. Short walk to,the underground. Easy access to Bondi Beach. Staff is awsome. Do recommend a room with a balcony.
Great location and overall, a lovely boutique hotel at a reasonable price. Staff were helpful and friendly. Air conditioning needs to be more easily adjustable but the rest was just great. We'd definitely come back.
We took a taxi from the airport so finding the hotel was no problem. The taxi was slightly more expensive than the range the hotel sent upfront. The check in was quick and easy. I didn't realize that there is an additional fee if you pay with credit card (it was stated) so keep in mind that cash is cheaper. Our room was in the third floor (elevator was available). The room was nice and clean but really tiny, so if you need some space, go for a larger room, not the small one. The bed was soft but comfortable. The wifi worked without an issue, the bathroom was small but clean. The shower was good but might not be perfect for tall people to fit under ;). The hotel doesn't offer breakfast but there are some Cafés around. Check out worked well, too. We could also store our luggage until the afternoon. In general, if you are looking for a fairly priced hotel to discover the city I can certainly recommend the place. You can walk to most attractions within 30 minutes or use the train at Kings Cross 10 minutes walk.
Perhaps a little pricey (like London hotels) but much better value the same-priced hotels in Potts Point. Oksana was wonderful, solving problems and making arrangements for us. Clean. Walking distance to the Opera House, though the Royal Botanical Garden.
From a stress free booking, easy check in, confident , well trained staff, clean room and great location, this hotel has got it all. And at great value. The range of restaurants, bars and shops nearby make it a much better choice than staying in the CBD. I look forward to many future stays.
The Hotel is situated in Potts Point, a great neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Within a couple of minutes you can walk to King's Cross and most main attractions like the botanical garden, the opera house and harbour bridge are within walking distance, too. The rooms are equipped with most of the things you would expect. What's missing is a safety deposit box and an iron. At least the standard rooms are very tiny. It's difficult to position a suitcase on the floor and open it and if you're two people, you'll be constantly in each other's way. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall a good stay but the price is somewhat on the high side for what you get.
Great option for those seeking simple, clean and efficient accommodation in a great inner city suburb. My room was very quiet and having a window to open for fresh air was great. The staff were friendly and the property represents good value for money. Only a 20 minute walk to the city and less than 10 minutes to the railway station. Hope they fix the in room fridges - they are not very well controlled.
