Overnight stay to visit the Vivid lights. Good room, very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely room plenty of space and king bed very comfortable. Paid for their buffet breakfast which had plenty of variety and an egg station so you could order freshly cooked eggs to your liking. Location is close to Circular Quay if cruising, train station and ferries.
What made this better was the brilliant location and the great view from the pool. I like the fact that it has a bit of charm, not just a typical chain. Quality of room, fittings etc what I expected. Rooms were very expensive when I was in Sydney - well they always are but sometimes it's worse. So it's on the more reasonable end. Still paying luxury rates for a basic hotel. I was not there long but everything was smooth. Easy check-in and out. Would have liked more lighting in the room. Was too dark for me. Controls for heating were easy to figure out (small thing but so often not the case in hotels). Bathtub in my room was tiny. I guess it's better than no bathtub, would be fine for kids. Overall it met my needs and was in exactly the right location for me.
First time I used the property and was surprised by the quoted rate $220. The hotel is well located albeit finding the parking is a challenge. Rooms are comfortable and amenities ok - shower over bath doesn't work for me Staff were pleasant however I was disappointed at check out with the room rate for the second night increased by $100
As everybody's reviews state: great location, and an easy walk to the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, ferries and railway station. Some nice restaurants in the vicinity too. The Hotel is 'ageing', but the rooms are very clean, beds extremely comfortable and staff are helpful and friendly. A trip to Manly by fast ferry not to be missed - an inexpensive way to see the harbour views from the water. Would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn on a return visit.
This hotel is in a great location with rooftop views of the Opera House and easy walking distance to numerous bars and restaurants as well as Circular Quay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little small and dated but kept clean and beds are comfortable. Hair dryer, in room safe and iron and ironing board are all provided. We stopped to grab a drink in the lobby bar which was convenient. There is also a restaurant on the second floor but we never ate there so I can't say whether or not the food is good. The hotel is a good value given the excellent location.
Excellent location , very easy walk to transportation, restaurants, attractions. million dollar views from window and roof top, brand new matresses were absolute heaven to sleep on. Staff were above and beyond. Room service meals were nice and affordable. Vivid lights right at front doors. I would definitely stay again.
Great location, friendly staff and fabulous view from our room. Nice cafes nearby and easy walk to city, ferries and Opera House. Room clean and bed comfortable. Shower over the bath a bit of a hassle but I guess lots of hotels have that. Really great stay
We went to the Hotel to see the Vivid Festival and a play and wanted to avoid traffic and driving hassles. The location in the Rocks is within walking distance to many attractions and to see them all you would need to stay for a week. For us the hotel was perfect as we used their valet parking and walked around to see things. The rooftop area, where there is a pool and spa, was also a great place to look at the Vivid lights as you can see the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the city buildings whilst having a room service meal and drink. Very enjoyable! The staff were very helpful and attentive and we enjoyed several meals and breakfasts. I would recommend the hotel to people who are visiting Sydney to see sights, catch a cruise ship, go on the Bridge Climb, or just want to have a relaxing time with excellent access to many Sydney attractions.
Thank you Holiday Inn for a very enjoyable stay. The room are clean and comfortable, I like the touch of the embroidered pillows indicating whether they are hard or soft pillows. I was concerned about sleeping because we were just above the night markets, maybe I was exhausted from all the walking but it was not a problem. The location is fantastic, close to so many attractions and the Airport. The bathrooms are a not modern but clean and the water is piping hot. I really enjoyed my stay. The rooftop view is an added bonus with a superb view.
The location of this hotel is excellent and the view from the rooftop/pool area is excellent. The rooms are tiny and old. It is very pricey for an old hotel the service though was friendly and excellent
