This hotel experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, and the location is great.
The hotel was great and the staff was super friendly. The location is perfect for those of us that love fun and entertainment since the hotel is right off Oxford Street which has lots of pubs/bars and Crown Street which has all local restaurants.
The hotel is located right off of Oxford street and very close to everything. There is a fitness center and grocery store steps away.
Cambridge hotel is not too far from College Road, the street that leads to Museum, Botanical Garden, and ultimately to Circular Quay.
Stayed in 6 hotels in Australia, this one was by far the best.
very close to the center of the city. rooms are clean and cozy. good value
Excellent location, close to all attractions and public transportations, comfortable bed, staff were very attentive to our needs, allowed us to check in at 6 am when our room was available, will stay at this hotel again and highly recommend this place to friends and family.
everything was good/excellent BUT... i payed for a queen suite with city views and a buffet breakfast??? I was given the 1st floor inside room which looked onto/into a bricked box looking at the other guests frosted bedroom windows you could tell the guests were wearing nothing i bet they did"nt know we could see that and air conditioning units asked about the buffet b/fast the receptionist said it was"nt included, had to show them the receipt again after they lost the 1 i gave upon arrival?? friends stayed at the same hotel on the same night they only paid for a standard room and they got the 12th floor? PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT ONE? will def stay there again but will just book a standard room and we will see what happens. I do not hold O_ BI _Z responsible for the room i got.
Good location, very easy to get around, close to the Central station. Room is nice. Staff was quite helpful
Great location for Oxford street gay clubs and shopping. Right within a few steps to great restaurants, night clubs, and shopping. Stayed for Mardi Gras - perfect location for these events. 30-45 minute walk to Sydney Harbor, Sydney Opera House/Bridge, Sydney botanical gardens. Room was very moderns, comfortable bed wit red sofa love seat, large bathroom, desk, fridge. Hotel has a small indoor pool inside. Has an expensive Italian restaurant inside it and separate room service, Major drawback is there is no free wifi. It is charged by the hour or selected period. There are work stations in the lobby but they are not free either. this was the major downfall that really killed it. The hotel is a dead zone for wireless and it seems the hotel is trying to capitalize on it. However, if you haven't been to Australia before, realize you must use your room key to turn on power to the room and take the room key out when you leave kills all the power as well. This means your air conditioner, ceiling lights, phone chargers etc....will not be powered. becomes difficult when you have multiple people staying in one room. Also need the card to activate the elevator,
Really not what we were expecting. The lobby in the pictures looks cool, hip and modern but you get to the rooms and they are very old, concrete walls and not very fancy at all. Pros were that it had a little wet bar area, the location and our room had a balcony. Cons were the poor wifi, overall quality of the rooms, old bathrooms in need of updating, sloooooowwww elevators, there was also construction going on in the building next door which wasn't pleasant (they could have warned us about that prior to booking-not at check-in).
The hotel is located very close to Oxford St. where there many choices for food, especially Asian, and nice pubs. You can walk to Hyde Park in a few minutes and make it to Darling Harbor in a few more. Also there a train station nearby where you can head towards the Opera House. You are within a few minutes from the Australian Museum, which is certainly worth a visit. So location is a big plus. The amenities are basic, the rooms are a bit on the small size (if you are from the States), the bathrooms are fine. The breakfast in the morning is ok for $14 per person. There is no view. There was also construction when we visited next door but we really did not hear anything. The stuff were very helpful. I think it comes to the price. Everything I saw in Sydney was very expensive so we are not disappointed with what this hotel offered.
Location was not so great, but considering it, the price was reasonable. The staffs were very kind and friendly. The breakfast buffet was pretty good compared to other very expensive hot breakfast options in Sydney.
Cambridge Hotel is in a GREAT location...just off Oxford Street. The room was ok but had no chest of drawers! It had a small hanging closet but no place for anything folded. Also, while I was there the power went off in the building for about 8 hours. ONLY in the hotel. They had some electrical problem. The elevators were still working but nothing else...not even the front desk power.
A friend and I recently stayed at this hotel. Great location for nightlife, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel is close to Oxford street, a very trendy and eclectic area. We had a blast and the room was perfect. This would be a great one for mardi gras!
The pictures posted on the website are a little deceiving. The rooms are lot smaller than American hotels. But, they were conviently located and the price was better than most of the others in Sydney. If you're planning on doing a lot of exploring and not spend a lot of time in your hotel, this is just the right place.
The room is small and clean. But the noise of lift and outside footstep is very loud.
Staff very helpful regarding all aspects of stay, ie check-in, out, directions around area, booking day trips, being genuinely interested in your stay.
You pay a lot for very little. Everything is extra. A bucket of Ice, Internet service, converter, conenental breakfast, everything.
Cambridge Hotel has great location for exploring Sydney and some of the staff provided excellent service while others didn't. For example, I arrived before check in time and was offered a key to the communal luggage storage room but wasn't told high value items could be checked at the front desk The website says "For quality accommodation, with a hotel airport shuttle" but they don't actually have a shuttle, they are partnered with a shuttle service. Their site says "We can arrange for airport shuttle pick-up" but when I called they told me to just find the desk in the airport. It also promised "first drop-off" but it was actually the last place the van stopped, an hour after I was picked up at the airport. The rooms were small but clean. Small TV. View in the room I got was poor. The weekend I went the hotel seemed to be hosting large numbers of college age students and it was a bit loud.
