The only memorable thing about our stay would be the mould spores in our noses. I can't believe you would put a family including a 1 year old child into a room that clearly had something wrong with it. The moment we walked through the door we could smell the dampness and mustiness, it was overpowering. It didn't take us long to find the source, the entire wall under the window, hiding behind curtains, was covered in mould. It even looked liked you had tried to hide it by painting over some areas. The window was dripping with condensation and running down the wall into the carpet. We brought up our concerns at reception and asked that our room was appropriately cleaned and deodorised/sanitised. After we returned, the room smelled slightly better and some of the wall had been cleaned but in the corners behind the curtains hadn't. Did you think we wouldn't see that? And our aircon had been turned to freezing levels, it's winter in sydney, why would they do that? It was to cover the smell. The room had most definitely not been deodorised. Not only is this a health hazard but how could you possibly expect us to have a good experience staying in a roo like that? It was room 503 by the way, you should stay in there for 4 nights. It's a shame because the hotel is in such a good position but we definitely won't be back or recommending it to anyone. In fact, the only people I'll be recommending you to is NSW Health.
Very noisy room. Worn carpet and very dirty marked walls. Very tired. Noisy banging in the walls throughout the night. Query plumbing issues. Great location, but very poor sleep. Staff were friendly and did try to improve our experience.
Great room and very handy location in the city as close to almost everything of city attractions. Would recommend to anyone that likes a basic but well set up Room. Even though the hotel doesn't supply or have breakfast facilities, on the information sheet it has recommended places to eat which was fine by me.
very poor would not recommend . Poor cleaning service, inadequate cups and glasses for 3 people, poor lighting unable to read or put on make up properly. Very noisy from the street with poor sound control. Bed not made properly, dirty cups left in room after cleaning. Fridge broke and leaked water everywhere.
This hotel was so disappointing. The rooms are so minimal it is like being in a hostel/back packers. The beds were clean but very uncomfortable as they had planks of wood with flattened memory fosm on top. The headboards were peeling & dropped there bits all over bed & pillows. Carpet was dirty & rotten in places. Toilet leaked all over the floor. Trash & plastic bottles under the beds. They only rinsed our cups & sat them back down with the water still in them - no clean ones given. Ugh. So nasty!!
I'd stayed here before and had made a mental note not to stay here again. Clearly it wasn't a good note because there I found myself again. The rooms are small and the carpet near the bathroom was wet so the room had a dreadful smell which wouldn't go. I asked for another room but was told they were full. This time will not be back.
Refurbish room 107 and possible double-glazing on windows overlooking the street. I found rubbish on the floor near curtains and the room smelt musty. Fantastic location to Darling Harbour and the staff made up for inadequate, noisy room
This hotel was perfect for us. We do not like to spend a lot of dollars on accomodation, but we do also like a clean and tidy room. It was also centrally located to all the activities we did during our stay. We will certainly return and recommend this Breakfree location.
I don't mind a hotel that has a small room and everything but it has to have a level of cleanliness. I don't know if it was the specific room I had but it was shocking. I felt like I was in a dormatory that had my own bathroom. For $200 per night it was quite sad. Staff at check in were very helpful and went out of there way to assist so compliments to them. Good location for central city.
The staff was very friendly and the location was great. However, the room was old and the carpet was dirty and has stain in it. I would recommend it if you want a budget hotel. Otherwise, look around for a better hotel such as mantra legend or BreakFree on George.
