Fraser Suites Suzhou4.0 out of 5.0

I have stayed at Fraser Suites Suzhou twice. As of my most recent trip to Suzhou (last week) the hotel has been closed. Apparently Fraser pulled out a couple months ago. No one has been able to give me a reason. Sad to see it go. It was my favorite place to stay in Suzhou. There is a new (much smaller) hotel, called The PuShi, that has set up shop in the building. Their lobby/reception area is up on the 55th floor. As of last week, they had acquired 20+ rooms on 4 different floors. There are also a number of Airbnb units available on the managed apartments floors. It appears that the pool, cafeteria, gym(?) and the amenities up on the 55th floor are no longer available. I never saw the bar or observation decks open on the 55th floor either.
Visited this hotel for second time. Got room on 45 floor, with wonderfull view! Everything in hotel was in great condition. Service is perfect. Also they have wonderfull bar at the top floor, with view desk, where you can find beatufil evening panoramas of the city. Also took some great food for breakfast.
Everything was great. Spacious apartment unit. They allow early check-in. Housekeeping was very accommodating. One funny story, we asked for butter, but ended up with cheese (chalk it up to miscommunication. not a big deal) Near metro station and bus stop.
This is impressive with warm welcoming freebies to guests. The room is massive and great although the lounge is deceiving of what it can offer inside. The restaurant is small but its good it has great Italian restaurant within the block.
Not a bit disappointed. Got an upgrade and had even a bigger room which was perfect. Nice bed, huge bathroom, sitting area, kitchenette, everything ok. Staff was friendly and helpful. In new CBD but close to metro and in the old part in a breeze.
The hotel is at 金鸡湖工业区， not too far from 老城区。All good michelin star restaurants are at 老城区。But the hotel is within a few minutes walk to 凤凰广场，which has many good bookstores, and shopping malls around，there is also 永和豆浆 which opens at 6 am, Starbucks, Paris baguette, so good if want to get breakfast outside of hotel. From hotel room, I see Renaissance hotel on left and courtyard by Marriott on right. Stayed a few nights at hotel. The first night, I feel itchiness for hair and I changed another pillow and felt better. I feedback to the hotel staff and when I return to stay after a short trip to wuxi, the hotel staff had found the cause. It is because the pillow contains feathers which some folks can be allergic to. The hotel helped to change pillows for me. After staying at service apartment such as Fraser or ascott, it is hard to want at other standard hotels because the apartment is spacious, clean and has washing machine and dryer. The only con is of course breakfast at service apartment is mediocre.
I visited this hotel on July 2015. The cousine was really very cool, service is perfect. Hotel based in great location, near the city center, and near a big lake. Nearby you can find a couple of banks, and restaurants, which are native chinese, and european. Going to visit this hotel on 13 november 2016, so i'll try to make another one review. enjoy!
I came back to Suzhou after four Years and the GM found the way to give me the same room I have lived in for months, causing a great emotion, all the staff very attentive, a real Home for any long stayers!
This is a great hotel, I think they're managed apartments, very spacious and modern, I stayed in one in Sydney. You cant fault the rooms, size, location etc. Very well appointed with two flat screen TV's, one in the separate living room, along with surround sound, the other in the bedroom. The suites also boast fully appointed kitchen and dining area and very spacious bathroom. The location is good as its central to many restaurants etc. I did a lot of walking when I was here, the weather was fantastic and there's lots to see. One thing you will notice is the very wide clean spacious streets not generally typical. Apparently this is due to huge investment from Singapore and this is reflected in the style of the streets and the many tall buildings going up, great photo opportunities. One of my highlights was seeing the the gate to the east which is near completion. I really loved staying here, the only downside, if there is one or two. The bar/restaurant on the roof is hugely underutilized. The staff are really great but the food isn't, its very basic and not that tasty. Also the staff generally are not very knowledgeable regarding places to eat etc, getting a recommendation is hard work. Bearing in mind that Suzhou generally is an area where English is not widely spoken, especially in restaurants, in can be very challenging. That aside, I had a fantastic stay at Fraser Suites. I would definitely recommend you stay there
This is the second Fraser Suites Hotel I stayed in recently. It's 5 star all the way. We had a 2 - room suite with icing room,, dining area and kitchen. The master bedroom has its own bathroom & shower with a great view from the 33rd floor. TV's everywhere and even has a DVD's player. Breakfast was absolutely tops and they even have breakfast adjacent to the gym on the 6th floor as well. Omlettes made to order etc in both! My only negative is that they have an outdoor pool only. No indoor pool. That means I can only stay there in the summer months. Good sauna and steam room, but turn on beforehand as they take a good 20 minutes to get hot. Also, the subway is right downstairs seconds away. Overall, an excellent value for the money and it'll really feel like your 2nd home. Really, I'd give it 4.5 stars because no indoor pool, but since half grades aren't possible, it gets 5 stars. Howard S
