Hotel was nice enough. But the staff was AMAZING. The service was just top notch all around, room service, front desk, bell guys...all great. The food was also really good. We did have an issue with the AC one evening which was miserable but they fixed it once made aware of the issue. It's in the heart of all the action so it's a great location.
We booked our trip with Expedia for 4 nights including flights. We arrived at the Althoff hotel and check in was quick, we had a corner room on the 6th floor with views to the train station across the road and the park at the back of the hotel. As this trip was a treat for my birthday the hotel left champagne, fruit and towel art in our room, what a lovely touch - thank you! The rooms were of a good size and immaculately clean and serviced twice daily, with a turn down service at night. Bathrobes, slippers and complimentary water in your room. Staff were friendly and helpful, we also enjoyed drinks in the bar on one evening and the bar tender was very attentive. The location of the hotel is excellent, just at the start of the shopping centre and very close to all public transport, easy to get around. We would definitely return to stay here and we recommend this hotel to anyone.
What a wonderful time we had at this hotel. Very highly recommended and was a very pleasant stay. Michelin restaurant was totally amazing too. Thank you to the Management and Staff. Location is fantastic and so close to shops and DM store to buy milk and the basics. You have to ask for a kettle, but they charge a pricy penny for tea bags. Rather go to DM and get your coffee and tea🤗🤗🤗🤗 It was a little ridiculous that they wanted to charge me €16 for 2 tea bags and a little pot of honey.... Especially given the price you pay per room per night excluding breakfast. If you wanted breakfast it was €27 per person, however if you walk just around the corner you can eat a full breakfast for €12.....
This hotel is located next to the central station. It's next to the garden where you can take a really lovely walk. And on the other side of the street is koenigstrasse which I understand is their main shopping street. I drove there and it was very easy to find, and the turn off the street goes straight into the parking garage. The service is really good! When I got back to the hotel in the evening, the sheets have been turned, there was a little choc next to the bed. The tv was tilted a little towards the bed. The slippers was placed out next to the bed on top of a towel. Everything was super cozy, bed was good. It just made me feel really happy as a guest and I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Stuttgart! Oh and the breakfast is also really good! You can grab food from the buffet spread or order from the menu at no extra charge. I had egg benedict - YUMMMM!
We stayed here for 2 nights. Having arrived early we expected we would need to leave our luggage and head out but no a room was available for us straight away. Room was comfortable although a little in the small side. Bathroom just had a shower which had plastic doors and a crack in one of them. Bed a little in the hard side and pillows extremely soft. Whilst we had a comfortable stay the room was a lower standard than that which I would expect for a leading hotel of the world establishment. Great location though for our base.
I used to stay at this hotel a couple of times in the past years and was quite happy. This time, however, was a complete disaster. When booking a junior suite 2 months ago by phone I was not told that at the date I wanted to book there was major renovation going on. I would have booked at the Meridien where I stayed before. The following day of my stay the heating had been switched off completely at freezing temperatures outside (-3C). This was happening at all rooms, private and public. When complaining I was told that some mechanic failure happened in the process of renovation and would be repaired quickly. Checking out after 4days nothing had changed, still cold restaurant for breakfast, cold at the lounge and bar where I sat with coat and scarf (and this in a member of The Leading Hotels of the World). To make the situation more comfortable I was given an electric heater for my room. As a gratuity they cut off the cost for breakfast from my bill, which was after all not a real compensation. The breakfast buffet was good, the service was mostly unfriendly. Especially one female staff said. as a welcome: room number, Name!!! Neither had she manners nor a friendly look and would fit better in a cheap diner than in a 5 star hotel. She also let us wait for a table and talked to other guests instead. The once friendly porter was also missing and not replaced at all. Finally I must honestly say that this hotel has gone downhill and cannot be recommended to my friends. We did not, as intented, visit the Michelin star restaurant due to coldness and possibly rude staff (?).
We spent Easter at the Althoff Hotel Am Schlossgarten and enjoyed our stay greatly. It's fair to say that 1960's architecture has not dated well externally, but the interior is excellently maintained and finished to a very high standard. The John Cranko Lounge was an excellent evening venue, with reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. Our only negatives were the lack of storage in the room - just a very small wardrobe and no drawer space - and a shower screen that almost met in the middle! A very pleasant stay, thank you!
We didn't stay at the hotel but had dinner in the excellent restaurant. The food was of a very high standard, tasty and I think, quite typical of the area. The service could not have been bettered anywhere. It was a most enjoyable evening.
We stayed here for one night upon arrival to Germany and were grateful to have such a large and comfortable room. The service was good and we enjoyed our drinks in the lounge. The location was very close (3 minute walk) to the train station which was perfect for hopping on the train to visit the nearby Porsche museum. It is also walkable to shopping and multiple eating and drinking options. A great first night of vacation.
Stayed here with girlfriend for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Right next to everything in the centre. Easy access from the tube. Nice clean rooms. Breakfast was pretty good. Cocktails in the hotel bar are amazing. Reception staff very helpful.
