My husband & I had never stayed in a Budget Host so we were a bit apprehensive, but we certainly were pleasantly surprised! The room was very clean, well appointed, and the front desk staff person was very friendly. They have a great selection of items for breakfast and the breakfast room is very pleasant. We would definately stay here again on our next trip to St. Ignace.
Whenever we go to Michigan and there is good snowmobiling, we stay here. Still clean, still updated and modern, still great service. My only recommendation is that you check the calendar so when there is Hockey week and you want to rest at night, you will need to stay away from here. Guests were loud, music cranking, drinking past 11 pm. Breakfast is okay but not properly stacked at all times. Awesome place that we would stay again IF not a hockey tournament is happening.
I stayed here overnight for a work trip to St. Ignace and it was a perfect fit for me! I’d easily stay here again and recommend it to friends. Originally I was looking for the Holiday Inn Express in town or some other familiar chain name in town but my options were limited because so many places in town were still closed for the winter - common for tourist towns in northern Michigan. I almost missed this option just because the name sounded like it would be a total dive but luckily I saw pictures on trip advisor and it looked like a great option. When I arrived I was not disappointed. Granted it isn’t a 5-star Hilton but I’d EASILY put it up against the best hotels in town and I really liked that it was within walking distance (~1 mile to the southern edge of town) of several bars and restaurants, unlike all the hotels on the northern end of the main drag. The room was very clean and updated with flat screen tv, exterior and interior hallway access, immaculate white sheets and nice thick mattress. There was great water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water and the free breakfast was on par with standard offerings of hotels of this caliber, fine with me! I only regret that I forgot to bring a swimming suit because a soak in the hot tub would have been really nice - especially given the fact that I pretty much had the hotel to myself (not enough snow for snowmobiling and not really enough ice for ice fishing). I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area for work or fun, no matter if other hotels are opened back up or not!
Stayed there for Midget BB tourney. Super friendly staff. The look of Newly refurbished property. he rooms were clean, the Breakfast was a nice change from just Waffles. The pool and Hot Tub were easily accessible. And its only 3 blocks from the Rink.
The hotel is clean with a nice pool and hot tub. The morning breakfast is better if you get there early. The poatoes were scarce by 9am when I got there. My only regret is paying $177 a night for the room. Many other dates of the year the rate is better.
I stayed here for one night after taking an impromptu road trip to the UP. Nightly no advance rate for a King room was $108.00, which I thought was a good deal in mid-August, but it probably helped that I stayed on a week night, and not a weekend night. There are cheaper motels in St. Ignace, but I liked that this hotel was walking distance to a bar and grille, and it looked very clean. Most rooms also have a small balcony; Room 211 did not have a balcony but did have a huge Jacuzzi spa tub in the center of the room which was slightly strange. But the room was very clean, as was the hotel very clean over all. There was a pool and a hot tub, as well as a hot breakfast (egg patties, sausage, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, and hot/cold cereals) at no extra charge, and I think WiFi was free. Nice hotel and I would stay here again.
St. Ignace has the best hockey tournaments. We have been three times to tournaments here and stayed with the Budget Host Inn & Suites twice. It is the hotel of my choice in St. Ignace. The staff are great with adults and kids. They know the kids want to have a fun weekend. They keep the hockey team together so as to not disturb other guests. The rooms are great, beds are comfortable, clean and functional. Breakfast is good! They put it out an hour early for the team as we had the first game of the day. All the little things that they think about makes this the perfect hotel to stay in while here. Love it and I hope if we are so lucky to go back for the tournaments again we get to stay at this hotel.
Very clean hotel. Cleaning staff should train other hotels. Shower great, bathroom well lit and bed wonderful. Not a new Hotel but has been kept up and maintained. There is definitely pride in ownership here.
We picked this hotel for location and price, one with a pool, right across the street from the ferry to Mackinac Island. We are glad we did. The room was large and clean, two queen beds and had a small refrigerator. We were on the second floor, all the rooms have a small balcony, ours faced the lake. The pool was quite large, had a nice Jacuzzi with a television next to it. This was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK, nothing special. I will stay there again if traveling to the U.P.
You can't beat the price for this hotel and it's accommodations. We have stayed here in the winter for snowmobiling. The outside is well maintained. It's close to the docks if you were heading over to Mackinac Island. The rooms look like they've been renovated and clean. That's all I look for. I've stayed in top-notch Resorts that don't give you anything, to staying places deep in the woods. This hotel has free wi-fi, decent parking, the staff is friendly, and yes there breakfast remains the same but what do you expect?? This is not a resort. You just need your basic breakfast to get you through the morning. Bathrooms were really clean and they give you basic toiletries which is fine for a short weekend. We chose this hotel over one in Mackinaw City because we enjoyed it here. Oh...shower head huge!
