I was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews so I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Check in was smooth and staff friendly. Discount tickets are available for purchase for ferry and this kept us from having to stand in line for tickets when we got to the ferry. We stayed in what I would call the motel part and yes it has some age but the room was so clean and smelled so fresh. Plenty of hot water, I mean really hot water for showers with good pressure. Comfortable beds. Also room cleaning daily which is hard to find these days. Breakfast consisted of pancakes, waffles, sausage, cereal. Plentiful and easy to find a place to sit. Short walk to many restaurants. Ice machine close to our room and fridge and mini coffee pot in the room. Loved the dial soap dispensers at bathroom sink and in shower. We did hear our neighbors at times but this can happen anywhere. You can see Lake Huron from the location. Also St Ignace ferry is less populated than Mackinac City ferry so great to stay in this quaint little town. We would definitely stay here again.
Its fine for the price. Dont expect luxury but it’s definitely not gross.

Cedar Hills Lodge has seen better days. It is close to all the tourist venues but that’s about all it’s got. The AC unit was very loud and blew straight on our faces while in bed. Linens and comforters need updating. The outside lawn area is very nice with a fire pit and volleyball.

The hotel has just changed owners, so I hold out hope that major improvements are going to be made. The afternoon front desk staff was efficient and friendly. The morning staff, not so much. The maintenance guys were the friendliest staff we encountered. The hotel had an overall musty smell, probably just from lack of updates such as new carpet in twenty years. The beds and pillows were quite hard and lumpy. The bathroom fixtures were either broken or screwed so tight they were hard to use. Housekeeping did a good job keeping towels and toiletries stocked. Due to the convenient location, this would be a nice place to stay, if major remodeling is done. As is, I would not recommend.
Great little place to spend the night. I wish the hot tub and pool were available but I understand why they were not.
It's in a nice location. The lobby is great. The only complain was the wifi was not working. I have to go lobby to get connected. Cross-street fish market for smoke white fish is a must-go.
It's a nice property in a pretty area. There are hiking trails across the road with food and shopping within walking distance. My only complaint is, the rooms do not have microwaves. That's minor, but when you're leaving before breakfast is served, a microwave is handy.
Really liked this place. The staff was very friendly and location was perfect. One of the best continental type breakfasts (pancakes!). My only complaint is the bed was clearly old and was super uncomfortable....like I was awoken in the middle of the night due to pain. Besides that though, loved this little place and I would probably stay again but would request a room with a newer bed.
Ac in Room to loud and out dated . Thresholld plate to bathroom torn and sticking up in the air.. could not close bathroom door. Told staff and they did absolutly nothing.
