Stockholm Quick Picks and Tips
Conventions

Home to trade shows like Formex, SKYDD, and M.A.X, Stockholmsmassan is the main event destination for guests staying at Stockholm hotels.

Dining

Before and after shopping, nothing hits the spot for guests staying in Stockholm like a mug from Wayne's Coffee, whose Skeppsholmen location provides a stellar view of key sites. The Kungshallen is a 15-restaurant fast-food trip around the world with correlating nearby movies.

Major Point of Interest

The Vasa Museum intrigues historians staying at Stockholm hotels. The primary exhibit is a 17th century wooden ship accented by numerous intricately hand-carved details, including ecstatic human figures.

Shopping

Tomtar and Troll is a purveyor of souvenirs illustrating Sweden's traditional tales. Souvenir hunters from Stockholm hotels can also snag deals on genuine Kosta Boda crystal at the Skavsta Airport’s duty free shop.

Sports

Physically active families staying at Stockholm hotels can rent bikes and baby carriers at Sweden Bike and enjoy a delightful daytrip around the city. Public ice-skating rinks and Nordic walking are popular in winter, while downtown fishing is available in the warmer months.

Story Hotel Signalfabriken

Stylish Hotel in Sundbyberg

We stayed at the Signal Fabriken for a ten day trip to Stockholm. Our room was small (especially the bathroom) but clean and stylish. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was served 6:30-10:30 AM so we never missed it. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to please. The restaurant and bar appeared to be popular. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood about 10 km from the city center, but it was a mere three minute walk to the metro, commuter rail, trolley, and bus center. Even the Arlanda Express Bus stops there, although public transit to and from the airport was simple. Large supermarket is directly across the street.

Scandic Continental

Nice hotel. Close to most tourist sites.

My family rented 3 rooms for a family vacation. The staff was friendly and helpful in directing us to tours, sites, etc. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was really well done. Lots of choices. The location was close to most visitor sites. I would recommend the hotel to others.

Scandic Malmen

Good stay but no parking

The only bad part was that you have to park your car at a pay lot that is underground. For some reason in the mornings, the door leading down to the garage was locked. This forced you to walk down many stairs and around the road to get to the entrance. This was a pain with luggage and very inconvenient with rain and snow.
