We arrived very early, and were thrilled to learn that our room was ready at 8:30 a,m, It was a great Swedish modern room, creatively appointed. I loved the bathroom/WC double duty glass door, but the bath itself is not for shy people. If you're not with a spouse or sharing with a friend, the large window into the room and the frosted glass door, combined with the mirror leave nothing to the imagination. The lobby was undergoing renovation during our visit, so we had to walk outside and around to the room housing the large breakfast bar. There were many meat options, but the scrambled eggs were runny. It also had really good fruit and salad options. Did not like the idea that the pool was an extra charge.
I have stayed here several times in the past and been satisfied, but going here during summer was a big mistake. The hotel is filled with tourist that put a much bigger load on the staff, and the venue can't handle that. Lines everywhere (check-in, elevators, breakfast). Rooms are not cleaned properly (smelly rooms, hair in bath tub, soap not refilled) and they don't even let you in to the breakfast sometimes.
hotel is ideally placed for travel to airports etc. there is no resturant as advertised when we booked. picture still on website! room ok, breakfast is Butlins style in a large room , food ok but is cold by the time you sit down and eat. i did have a massage and that was very good, perhaps a price reduction would be in order while the alterations are in situ?
This hotel is very big and is currently under renovation so I understand that some facilities are not as good as they should be. Our bedroom has excellent design, except for tiny short wardrobe that cannot take anything longer than shirts. Good points include numerous fast elevators, charging station for smartphones in the lobby, very helpful concierge, good location and excellent buffet breakfast. Breakfast times are allocated according to floors but they were just a joke. We were given 10 AM, far too late for tourists so we just turned up at 7 AM. It is unforgivable that the use of swimming pool involves a fairly high fee, more if you go in the afternoon. This must be the only luxury hotel in the world that does so. If they continue this policy, this hotel should be classified 3 star.
We've chosen this hotel after reading countless reviews on Tripadvisor. It was a very good choice! Good things: Hotel is situated 250m from main Stockholm station. 20 min with Arlanda Express from and to the airport. Thich station (Centralen) has got commuter trains, tube, buses and trains. You can get anywhere from there. Price is standard for Scandinavia. It is wise to book a larger room to avoid disappointment. Rooms are well equipped, tea, coffee, safe, fridge, bathroom, tv. Buffet breakfast is included in the price. Good quality meal with a lot of choice. Superb hotel staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Made our stay a pleasure. (Thanks Niklas!!! :) ) Wifi - top speed and free. Not so good bits: Hotel was undergoing refurbishment so the restaurant was closed. Top floor bar is small hence always busy and noisy. Room service prices were extortionate and menu left in the room out of date. Meals were of good quality but they cost their weight in gold. It would be wise to lower the prices at least for the duration of restaurant being out of use. £20 for an approx. 50g piece of brownie with some garnish is taking a mickey. Great skip outside which caught fire during our stay is not anything to be proud of. Especially that it was left there to smell instead of being replaced. Aircon fan in the room was really noisy on higher settings. Overall is was a great stay since Stockholm has got so much to offer. Hotel was used as a sleepover base and it did the job. I would recommend it to anyone and would return there anytime.
The hotel is well situated. We arrived on the Arlanda Express and it is a short walk up the road to the hotel. It is very angular and modern in its style. Check in was OK but they gloss over the fact that because the dining room/breakfast room is being totally up graded eating options are limited. The room was a reasonable size and the bathroom OK. The only odd thing was that the wardrobe was three quarters size in height so it was difficult to hang long dresses etc. We had not asked for a disabled room as the only ones available had double beds and that doesn't work for us. Although it was a twin bedded room there was only one chair and one mug to go with the tea and coffee making facilities and this had the coffee sachets in it and there was no milk. We only stayed the one night so we didn't bother asking for any. We ate our evening meal in the foyer to the Spa and beauty area on the top floor from a limited menu as people wandered through for treatments and to use the pool. The alternative was to eat outside with the BBQ and the loud piped music in the open air - with the same menu. Breakfast was in a temporary room and time of breakfast was assigned by floor of the room in which you were staying. You had no chance to negotiate this. We were on level 7 and our meal time was from 0830. We had to be on a ship by then so we ordered room service. On checking out they tried to charge us the 95 SEK each for this service. The price of our accommodation included breakfast. We negotiated! It was disappointing that there was no apology in the rooms for the major works and the inconvenience caused. WiFi was free but there was a charge for hotel guests to use the Spa and Pool.
We had high expectations of this hotel however experience was rather poor despite friendly team. Room was tiny and not clean as it should be Breakfast (temporary solution) was bad. Very dark and crowded. A lot of choice but not high of quality Reception is small & dark and very crowded. This hotel feels more like a factory and seems to me too big to ensure high quality experience which you expect from a 4* hotel Our room was in a corner, 10minutes walk from the elevator To end with a positive note, Stockholm is great and location is this hotel as well
Rooms are not what I expected, stains on chairs, beds not always made up properly, could do with a good cleaning before new guests arrive. Good location though and Reception staff very helpful. Disappointed with facilities and no access to pools without having to pay.
The Clarion Sign Hotel is a very crowded hotel by groups of tourists and is well situated, walking distance to main attractions, pedestrian street till the Grand Palace. During our stay in June 2017, they were renovating the restaurant so they used an amphitheater for breakfast purposes and it was so dark and not at all practical. Nice heated pool at the rooftop with Spa offering very good massage. Rooms are clean and spacious with free wifi.
Good location, close to the train station etc. Urban in style. A very very busy hotel. Generally good facility, sometimes shabby on the edges snd certainly lacking in service and in attention to guests wellbeing. I loved the decoration on the front of the first floor: restaurant, lobby, bar etc. I less liked the dining room at the rear end of the first floor, where the food is served and a big part of the dining tables are situated. It is dark, functional but lacks any character - amazing contrast behind the wall. Definitely choose to sit in the front side of the restaurant, where it is bright and beautiful. room was OK, as well as bathroom. very few amenities, quite basic, i would have expected a little more pampering stuff . one big negative is the service: very busy stuff with no time to give you proper attention. Reception always busy with ques of people almost at any time of the day and night. I would recommend to management to please put receptionists in all the stations rather than have people wait for such a long time to be attended to. There were lots of complaints i heard during my stay. Another negative was the BAD wi-fi connection and system that kept asking for passwords... was totally not friendly and annoying. Breakfast was good with nice selection specially the hot bar with the nice chef who prepared all kinds of eggs. But most annoying were the evening waitresses 2 specific young ladies at the restaurant when we came to dine one evening. They were arrogant rude and actually lied to us in order to not let us sit where we wanted. They insisted the table was reserved but it stayed empty during the whole evening. This was shameful and not begitting.
