It's only about a three-minute walk from your room to the lifts. All the local outfitters know where it is and can pick you up there. There's a free bus that passes the corner every few minutes to take you into town. Nice views from our room. Good, large hot tub. The place is very well built (no squeaky floors or thin walls), and the rooms are nicely furnished. Close to restaurants and the action. Really enjoyed my four-night stay there.
We stayed in room 306 (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom). The size of the condo was fine for our family of 3. The kitchen was functional and adequate for our needs (breakfast and the occasional dinner). The lounge / dining area was large enough for 3-4 permanent guests and also for one evening where we hosted 7 for dinner. The two bathrooms were clean and functional. The main highlights were the reasonable price (and hence do not expect 4/5 star - it is reasonable budget accommodation) and the location (right behind 1 Steamboat Place). This is a five minute walk to the Gondola and a five minute walk to the bus interchange. Unlike most accommodation on the snow Snow Flower Condos do not operate their own shuttle service. This is not a major issue as Steamboat has an excellent free bus service that runs regular trips between the Snow, Down Town and the main Condo locations. You can even track the location of each bus using the transit service website site.
The signage to find this building was not very good. The building is less than impressive looking from the outside, but our unit #105 was very nice with 2 BR & 2 bathrooms including heated tile floors. Short walk to the gondola along with all the village stores and restaurants. Parking was tight but at least was covered.
Before arriving we knew the property would be Standard Mid-Range, however dirty, torn furniture - Dining Room Table Chairs were all Torn and Very Dirty - You could not even sell them at a Goodwill such bad condition, kitchen cabinet door hanging off, two burners did not work on the stove, faucet in one of the bathrooms hanging off, TV not working and had to wait a whole day before they did,,,, problem because of College Bowl Games. We were there 5 nights and not until the last 2 days did they even put down Salt on the Walk Way up on the 3rd Floor. Walking outside was difficult,, always slipping and a fall would have been a disaster.
We have reluctantly left Steamboat Springs and condo 206 here at the Snowflower. This was a truly great find, with a walk of say 200 yards to the gondola and the Christie Peak Ski lift. Almost ski in ski out location here, with a very very well equipped kitchen, Laundry, two bathrooms, two separate bedrooms, balcony, gas fire place, and the condos have a pool and a hot tub for use as well. The tea and coffee at reception is a nice touch too. All furnishings etc were in good condition and there is an undercover car park. My only comment was the bed was a bit soft for us, and seemed to be perhaps getting near the end of its useful life. A very family friendly place to stay and well worth the money. We hope to be back here again one day and will be recommending the Snowflower to everyone!
My family of 6 and one friend had a fantastic stay in the snow flower great heated pool & spa . The unit was great value and as expected great local for kid with no energy after a big day on the slopes.
I stayed with friends at the Snow Flower. We have stayed here before and we're always impressed by the location [ short walk to everything at the resort] , the condition of the condos, [well equipped and in good repair, all the amenities] always relaxing and quiet. The staff are always friendly and helpful and genuine! Great condo....Great trip and Great Spring skiing!!
I just got back from Steamboat for my 16th ski trip since 1994, and this is by far the best condo for the location and price. (And I have stayed in most of them, including "luxury" rated ski in/out). What's to like? Location is right across the street from One Steamboat Place at Gondola square, with an nearby elevator to take you up to ski shops etc. Other places promise "walking distance" which could mean a football field distance. Not here, this is right across from the Gondola as promised. 5 minute walk. Unit 307 where we stayed is closest as well as other corner units on adjacent floors. If you have young kids (we were all adults), the children's ski school is 5 minutes away. I remember steering my kids far greater distances when they were young, not fun. 4 bedroom, 3 baths, like 307, are plenty roomy for a large family or group. 2 master baths and one shared. Many places in Steamboat don't offer 4 BRs. Very nice outdoor pool and good size hot tub. Nice staff at the front desk. Covered garage with elevator. Near free city bus depot. And very competitive pricing, probably lower than others with great locations because it is a bit dated in room decor and bathrooms are on the smaller size. Still, small trade off for everything else. Did I mention location, location, location?
We really enjoyed our week stay in a 3rd floor condo. It was 4 bedroom, 3 bath and easily accommodated our 6 adults group. It had a full kitchen, cleaning supplies (dish soap, dishwasher liquid) plenty of linens, TP etc. They don't clean/visit every day but did a good enough job to keep the place clean. Directly across street is a very small grocery with most of basics and beer/wine; it seemed kinda an organic store. VERY convenient location to ski. We walked down 3 flight of steps (wanted exercise), across street and up 3 flights to next building and we were right at center of Gondola Square. We all rented from Christies rental shop and they kept our skiis/poles each nite at no other cost. They are very close to Gondola, so from our condo to Christies was < 10 minute walk. Condo has older TV equipment so if you bring a Roku (or other) stick it might not work. We did have good WIFI in our condo, PLENTY of hot water and great water pressure; especially for a 3rd floor unit. They do NOT have a ski locker for our condo but again we kept our skiis/poles at Christies anyway. When we checked in I asked if we could get a room facing ski slopes. We could not, and considered ourselves lucky for not getting such a room. There are so many tall condo buildings, one of them blocks each others views. Our living room BIG window faced west and had unobstructed view of far away mountains and all afternoon we had a really warm sun heating up our balcony. We sat out there each nite and basked in warm sun in t-shirt, despite snow all around. The bedrooms that were facing the entrance hallway of our complex had a bright light from adjacent building that tried to light up the bedrooms. We had to put extra sheet over the curtain to block this light. This was a big disappointment.
Wonderful location, quick trek to the gondola, village. Super comfortable. As I stated, we rented 2 units here; one from Vacasa-nice, and clean, but the sofa could stand to be refreshed. The second was VRBO #476171. It was a large studio, with a wrap around balcony. The owners were so thoughtful; they left a bottle of wine, chocolates, and oodles of nice toiletries. The unit was immaculate. I don't love to ski, but I so enjoyed this cozy condo. If you are hesitant about sleeping in a Murphy bed-do not be worried. Thus one was super comfortable. The sheets were high thread count and the blankets were warm and soft. The owners have thought of everything. We didn't use the hot tub or pool, but there is a nice view of it, as well as the mountains from the room. I loved this unit!!!
