First of all I'd like to say all of the hotel staff was very friendly and nice. Other than that my stay was very disappointing. The pictures featured on Orbitz.com are not what you will be getting when you walk into your room. It appears nothing has been updated other than the TV since maybe the 1980s. The shower smelled really funky and the lime build up on the shower head was disgusting. Also, the air conditioner was awful and barely working. I'm sorry but I will not be back.

We were unfortunately placed in a smoking wing; it had not been updated. Hall and room carpet old and wrinkled. burns on the bedspread. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was okay.Be sure you reserve a NON SMOKING room!!

We spent the night to be in state college for the next morning to shop. The bed was very hard and the layout of the room is kind of odd. Bathroom is very small. Overall price is fine. You get what you pay for.

Very nice stay for the most part. The only thing that was lacking was the breakfast buffet. It had very limited choices and there was not enough room for everyone at the time we went down. Would def stay there again though.

The hotel was adequate. Bed was like sleeping on a brick, we both slept poorly & got up with tired, sore backs. Breakfast wasn't too bad though.

The carpet was torn, the furniture badly scratched and the bed sagged. The room looked like it was not cared for. The front desk staff ran out of pillows. We will not be staying here again.

very close to the University's Rec hall...Very knowledgeable and helpful staff Will definitely stay here again

Staff was very helpful with personal info on historic downtown, restaurants and directions. Quiet location but convenient to shopping and eateries. Would stay there again

It was fine. I've had better and I've had much worse. Overall we were satisfied given a one night stay. Breakfast was very skimpy but an Ihop next door satisfied. We were there for a Mid-Atlantic XC event at Penn State. That was our main focus of course.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful but the actual hotel room was nothing to write home about. It was clean but had a strange odor. Maybe a hint of cigarette smoke. My sleep was not so good on the uncomfortable bed.

weight room good shower was great furniture from the fifties non smoking floor smelled like smoke Staff was friendly cookies for your reception continental breakfast was good Shuttle to stadium was right our front and that was great. No reading lamp and was hard to adjust the temperature so it was not stuffy.

Great Experience, everyone very pleaseant and helpful.

Overall satisfactory; good enough for one night, had all the normal amenities. For the price, I did expect a little more for breakfast -- after perusing the choices, I went outside the hotel for breakfast. While I gave all the features mentioned above average the overall rating was less as the hotel could use some updating. The room did have a little cooktop and fridge and had I know this I would have brought my own breakfast items ( or bought them). Given this, as an overnight lodging where I'm going to be out of the room most of the time, I'd probably stay again.

It is very convenient to visit Penn State University.

Stayed here since this was only avaikable room in state college. We are no smokers, room smelled of smokers. It was just cheap all. Around. Hotel is old and needs refreshing. Won't stay here again.

My daughter was invited to meet with some PSU faculty and perform with a school musical choir and on the following day to sit in on several classes. I was looking for a basic "flop house" but not a "hole". The accommodations were excellent for the price. Clean, free breakfast, friendly and attentive staff. 2 miles from the campus right off the main road to the campus. I would stay here again and recommend.

Location and staff were OK. Parking was good, however, bed mattress were well worn, soft and lumpy and the bathroom was extremely small.

We stayed at the Super 8 on Atherton, as we needed a dog-friendly hotel. The staff was great, the free breakfast was very good, and there were plenty of places to walk the dog. It is also convenient to shopping and to campus.

Teddy, Thank you so much for selecting the Super 8 ~ State College for your stay and for taking the time to review our property. Although we appreciate your comments about our staff, I sincerely apologize that your stay at our hotel was anything less than totally satisfying. We will undergo a renovation this winter when we will be renovating all of our guest rooms at that time. I have made housekeeping and maintenance aware of your experience as well. We truly appreciate your feedback!
