I loved the overall layout of the room and private deck and pool The furniture was outdated and kind of old in the living room. That is the only negative thing. Otherwise perfect vacation!
The hotel was a quick.walk to a beautiful, beach with great.snorkeling and was not crowded. the rooms were adequate with a small pool. The receptionist was friendly and helpful but the.maid.service was.spotty. the room was quiet, which we wanted, except for the rooster at five am each day. I liked the area but I don't know if I would return to.this hotel. Electricity was intermittent and it was quite warm when we were there.
My husband and I stayed at the villas this past week. We had villa 112. The location is 1 mile from Red Hook in the East End where you can take the ferry to visit St.John. There are no amenities but you do have your own private pool which is a nice touch! Sapphire Beach is walking distance if you don't mind walking through rubble and rocky roads. (It's not as bad as it sounds) There are a number of restaurants in Red Hook. There's a small beaten down restaurant across from the office but don't be fooled. We went for Friday Fish Fry. It was sooo good, the best fish and chips (used grouper) Bill was the cook. He came out to serve the food real nice guy. The complimentary breakfast they provided is just bagels and muffins nothing extraordinary at all but it's good to grab when you're on the go.
This was my first time at Pavilions and Pools. When I entered I immediately felt tranquil. The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the fact that there were kitchen utensils and appliances to cook. I didn't have to leave the room unless warranted. The pool was warm and that was the highlight for my daughter. It was was right outside the door, accessible at any hour. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I can't wait for my next adventure!
Had sense room had sat a while not thoroughly clean. Floors were swept but not vacuumed or washed. We had toilet over flow and shower backed up had to switch rooms. We shared that room with mosquitos and cockroach. Kitchen and bath needed a good scrub down with bleach. property manager was not moved to check back with us if things were ok, let alone make any concessions. Definitely overpaid for this " resort"
My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved the privacy we had in room 112. The pool and open shower was wonderful. Overall the staff was awesome except for one front desk person. (you will no who she is). The food and staff at Torsido Taco was great. Saphire Beach was a short walk and a very lovely beach.
What a nice vacation. Hotel was everything we had read and expected of. Having a private pool was awesome ! It was only a five minute walk to Saphire beach , and of the four beaches that we visited on St Thomas island , Saphire beach was the prettiest and snorkeling the best . Red Hook was only a five minute drive away and had our choice of approx . 8 different restraurants , of which the four we went , we would go back to. Make sure to allow one day to vist St Johns , we went to trunk bay . A very very pretty beach and excellent snorkeling . The only downfall was the one morning we went to breakfast at the hotel at opening ,and I felt we had to wait for the staff to get their food before we could eat . If we go back without kids , this hotel would still be our first choice .
This hotel is just s short Taxi ride from Red Hook. Probably the best thing about the location is the proximity to Sapphire Beach. You can easily walk to the beach and relax or snorkel. We saw sting ray--squid--and a large assortment of tropical fish. White sand and beautiful blue water. We enjoyed the private pool. Our dishwasher didn't work the whole time we were there. The front desk staff was not overly helpful or warm. Almost abrasive in response to questions. We experienced the same feelings on St John so might be the island standard. It is very easy to catch the dollar taxi right our front. We forgot about the complimentary continental breakfast which was a nice ammenity. The restaurant and bar staff were interactive and entertaining. Happy hour tacos are 2$ and tasted great.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. Just wish it could have been longer but that's not their fault. The room was clean and neat. The welcome gift of rum and coke was a nice touch...LOL! The complimentary breakfast was good but would have been nice to have a few hot options but the view moe than made up for it.
The hotel is amazing! A private pool? Full kitchen? King size bed? Open shower? It can't be beat but it could be better. The restaurant/bar is great but the hours could be extended. The staff is exceptional! Location is real close to Red Hook which makes travel easier. Posted directions to tourist sites would be good & a better breakfast option. It suffices but is not always prompt and is extremely limited. Being a NYer, the bagels were cold and stored, the muffins are pre-packaged Otis Spunkmeyers and I could not drink the coffee. That said, buy your own in town. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
The staff that checked us in was not awaree of some amenities but once we found out , it was awesome
This was about our 4th stay at this resort. We enjoy the tranquility and easy access to most of the things we enjoy (beaches restuarants etc.). It is always relaxing and leaves us wanting more. Be sure to rent a car!
The condos are all individually owned. Our first room needed updating badly. I say first room, because we had to change rooms. The ac froze up in the night. Nothing like sleeping in 80 plus degree weather and high humidity, plus the ac fan rattling. The second room was great. Freshly updated and very well cared for. Had we been given this room to begin with, I would give it 5 stars. Room 108 was the first room, room 107 was the second room. The property was very quite and the on site restaurant was very good. Several locals and guests of other resorts came there to eat. The wifi access is only in the lobby area. My wife and I had a great time and are looking forward to a return trip.
The pictures that are on the internet are lovely. The room that we were assigned to was old, rundown and not only did it smell moldy it was moldy! It was not at all like the pictures! The staff allowed us to move to a cleaner room. The next evening it rained, you guessed it...."Rain Keeps Falling on Your Head". It is not easy to get assistance as the Front Desk is locked and is closed from 8PM-8AM. After calling the emergency number, the property representative did send 2 men to help us move to another room. We declined to move due to the fact it was dark and we did not want to have to go back to the room with mold. They did help us move the bed so we were not getting rained on. Our stay at Pavilions and Pools ruined our otherwise perfect vacation; we could not wait to check out. We would never return. The one highlight is the Happy Hour and Front Desk personnel, they were concerned and tried to help us out, however they are under management that is not customer service oriented. The property manager said the rain was out of their control!! Her only solution was for us to move. Please be aware of this property, I am glad we were not on our honeymoon!
This hotel was very peaceful and secluded which is what we wanted. The Sapphire Beach is a 5 minute walk from the room, which is worth the walk because the views are wonderful. The hotel has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room / dining room, a bathroom and your own pool, it is very private. You can see the pool from all the rooms except the bathroom. The windows are everywhere, we even saw an iguana walking by. There are TV's in the Living room and the bedroom with cable, but you probably won't use them that much. There is a also a DVD player and a radio if you choose to use that. The bathroom does not have a tub, it is a shower, but it works after you have sun tanned and gone swimming in the pool or at the beach.
I was a bit nervous. There was a review about a guest getting robbed there a WHILE back.Maybe thats why it was so QUIET there. They have tight security now.Room 106(caribbean suite)spacious, clean, private, great view of palms and the bay.Not a five star but WELL worth the price.Short walk to Sapphire Bay.This place is better than the big resorts.Hotel bar is awesome.Nice view,40 kinds of custom tequila, great Mex food.Would go again.Great staff,bartender([...]).More like a condo.NO KIDS! Very relaxing. Great for couples looking for quiet privacy.Would reccomend a rental car, although taxis are easy.
this hotel is great if you want a quiet place, hang out by your own pool, read a book and just enjoy the wonderful weather.Sapphire beach is just a few minute walk, and it is plenty of good restaurants in Red Hook, just a few minutes away by taxi.Nice friendly staff, and they really made us feel welcome!
Great place to realax and enjoy the privacy of your own little villa...pool is right there, beautiful beach just minutes away! Location is awesome, Red Hook is one minute down the road, with ferry service to other islands and great restaurants/bars, even some shopping.
The hotel had a lot to offer, but we were unaware until we discovered this because the person that checked us in was not interested in sharing add'l info...she only "checked us in". The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, but the airplanes take off VERY close by. Overall compared to all three places we stayed, I would still recommend this hotel.
We chose this hotel because we wanted an island experience minus the chain hotel feel. We got that and more! We stayed in the larger International Villa and had space to spare. It was like having our own apartment with a pool in St. Thomas! The living room furniture was comfy (couch and chaise), complete with TV (VCR and DVD player). The kitchen was well-equipped with all the utensils one would need - and my boyfriend loves to cook! The king-size bed was comfy and the bedroom looked right out onto the pool -- in fact, you can actually jump in from the bedroom into the deep end (about 5 feet). The pool was maintained well with a pool man coming to clean every other day and a pool skimmer left on premises for the in-between time. And the bathroom bears mentioning...the garden shower with a rain shower head is awesome. Overall the villa was a great experience and we're already planning our next trip back! Roberto's is the onsite Mexican restaurant and was quite yummy. The food is cooked with love. We had at least 2-3 meals in the week we were there in addition to times we just chatted at the bar. All the staff was wonderful and put their best foot forward. One night we came as they were closing and they still put a a couple of plates together for us! They really go the extra mile! Finally, the office staff is great too. All of the ladies at the front desk were friendly and very helpful...and quite charming. We would highly recommend Pavilions and Pools if you're looking to have some quiet private time and great service.
