Best Western Plus Centre Hotel

Excellent location, hotel OK.

The best of this hotel is its centric location at walking distance of the Hermitage. The staff is mostly OK except for the stiff face of the guy at the reception that check us in. The room atmosphere puts emphasis on simplicity and wooden furniture. Speaking about simplicity, it was taken too far in the shower for our taste since there is no door, curtain or anything isolating the shower (no bathtub) from the rest of the bathroom. This creates 2 problems - one is a possible lack of privacy while showering and the other is all the water that splashes and reaches well beyond the shower. We ended up throwing some towels around it to keep the water in check. You can see the shower in the pictures. As for cleanliness, the first time I lifted the bed sheets found some hairs that quickly shook way to prevent my girlfriend from having a heart attack. The floor is wooden and as far as we could tell it was never cleaned during our 5-night stay. And on our last day the room was not even made up at all despite us hanging the door tag requesting it. The housekeeper said that our room was not on her list any more. Drinking water was only provided once by 2 bottles already set in the room initially. The hotel book says that their tap water is safe to drink, if you believe them. Our room view was to a shared backyard but we didn’t really cared about it. All in all, for the price and location this hotel is fine if you can tolerate a few glitches.
