Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Conveniant location close to some major landmarks and museums. Breakfast was the usual fare you get in a good quality european hotel. The staff are excellent and deal with everything in a very proffessional manner even under duress from some of the locals. The rooms I had was great, the views of rooftops was probably better than staring at a nondescript building.....Would definately stay again.
I've stayed in several Renaissance hotels and while this is not bad, I was expecting more. Our rooms overlooked an internal courtyard so they where gloomy at all hours. So try to get one that looks out onto the street if you can. Having said that the hotel is reasonably well situated and the service was good, although English is not their strong point, this is true of all Russia, not just this hotel. Breakfast was great
Stayed as a single traveller at the duplex suite for four nights. Split level room with living room and two toilets. Not the most modern five star hotel in the city, but it is clean and extremely spacious. Bed was comfortable and for a double, it certainly can easily fit four people (ok, maybe three people, if they are all my size) Located virtually across from the iconic St Isaac' cathedral and a walking distance to the heart of St Petersburg main artillery, Nevsky Prospekt. Carrying luggage to the nearest station is not the easy, but hotel can arrange taxi if needed. Staff were amazing. Encountered a bit of an issue when tried to borrow an adapator, with one staff insisted the only available adaptor is only for sale for $10. However, another staff intervened, lend the adaptor from the conference room with refundable deposit. Breakfast was amazing with various continental and Russian selections. Egg stations, cold meat and fish and fresh food were a great start of the day, although it got a bit repetitive after the second day. Surprisingly, the daily welcoming shot of berries smoothies were my favourite. A small gift shop is attached to the hotel with great selection and reasonably priced Russian gifts and Knicks knacks. The shop assistance (Daria) was patience and friendly, and has deep knowledge about St Petersburg. I ended up bought three Feberge eggs from the shop. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. It is always nice to know there are amazing room and incredibly friendly people waiting for me after a long walk around St Petersburg.
At check in we were greeted with a glass of champagne. For me that's a nice way to begin a stay. Due to our Marriott status our room was upgraded to a two level suite, which was nice, although a little dated. That said, we did enjoy the extra space. The staff was excellent, especially the concierge. They were very helpful in getting us tickets to the ballet, arranging tours, making excellent restaurant recommendations and anything else we needed. The location is very good, within walking distance to most attractions. All and all a good experience.
This hotel has a great location. Just steps from St Isaac Church, the hop-on-hop-off stops on the side of the church. Employees speak very good English and are all very friendly and courteous. Employees at the store are also very nice. I had all my meals at the hotel because as a solo traveler had some difficulty with the language on the the streets. The food was excellent and don't regret having my meals there. The only down fall is that the hotel needs a little upgrade but even though, I highly recommend it.
Great staff, very polite and willing to help find your way around. My room was a bit small, the breakfast buffet was good, a bit pricey. The location was excellent as is walking distance to many beautiful and interesting sites.
The staff you meet, the concierge and front desk are very service-oriented and helpful. The location of the hotel is first class as you have many of St. Petersburg's sights within walking distance.Rooms facing the atrium are quiet, though a bit dark without light emitting.Renaissance offers good toilet items and comfortable beds
Stayed here for 3 nights in Sep 2017. The location is good, only 50m away from St. Isaac. Hermitage palace and Palace Square is around 800m away, a nice stroll while admiring the city. Hotel staff was also friendly enough. A champagne welcome drink is a nice touch! All in all, it was a good stay. Would be better if they renovate it as the hotel is a bit dated. But its still clean though! Also, the room is quite small, expected more since its a 5 star hotel.
Everything about Hotel is disappointing. On website it indicates that it is near the Hermitage but it is a long walk. We are still staying at Hotel and are Platinum Marriott members. Rooms old and small. Breakfast was a chore because there were not enough seating. Had to eat in lobby. Staff indifferent. No one brought silverware or napkins. Could not get coffee etc. food just okay. Simply not a first class hotel or worth the high price. Only one elevator working. No one seemed to be in charge
I stayed in this hotel for some days for business. The hotel is greatly located with a walking distance to many great sightseeings. The design is classical& conservative that is even hard to remember. The room was clean, the conditioner worked well. Breakfast had a goid variety of choice with very helpful staff! For me, it would be really boring there to stay for a week end or for some time with friends, but for work it is Ok;)
