For two days, I had the best experience at Radisson Sonya. The location near from Nevskyi Prospect is wonderful and the room services are perfect. I have dreams everyday since my checkout about the breakfast. Congratulations!

4 star hotel, large luxurious single rooms, great food, nice&quiet atmosphere, heated floor in the bathroom if you're visiting in the cold season, free Wi-fi, tasty breakfast buffet. The staff was really nice and helpful and spoke very well English. The hotel location is fantastic since it's placed close to the city center attractions (e.g.: the circus, main rivers, churches and cathedrals) and shopping area.

I visited this hotel the second time as my company books it for the employees. The location is great, staff is polite and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast has a good selection and the hotel has gym/sauna. I definitely recommend.

2 of us recently stayed at the Radisson Sonya Hotel for 3 nights and we agreed that it was one of the best hotel stays we’d had in ages. Even before we arrived, the staff were fantastic. Special mention goes to Mariya Sorokopud who helped us enormously with documentation for our visas. The hotel also arranged for a taxi to collect us from the railway station very late at night as we arrived by train from Tallinn. As promised, the driver was waiting on the platform. We were happy with our twin room, not least because the beds were blissfully comfortable! Our mini bar appeared to be locked, which was a little odd. However, we got round by placing our bottled water etc., on the ledge between the two layers of window . It kept our drinks ice cold! The bathroom was spacious, with a particularly large rainfall shower and high quality complimentary toiletries. The hotel generally appeared to be well maintained and I particularly enjoyed the Dostoyevsky theme as his novel, Crime and Punishment, is one of my favourite books. The hotel bar was very nice with friendly staff and a good choice of food and drink. Prices were as expected for a hotel - i.e. on the high side - but not ridiculous. Special mention goes to the bartender, Timofey Petrov, who gave us some great tips of things to see and do in Saint Petersburg. He was great company one evening and hen we spent a couple of hours in the bar. The hotel is well placed within the city centre and we walked almost everywhere. It took a good 25-30 minutes to reach attractions such as the Hermitage Museum but we enjoyed the exercise - even if it was -6 at the time of our visit! If you don’t want to walk, Uber Black operates in the area and is very reasonably priced - particularly if you hail from Western Europe as we do. Finally, I must praise the fantastic breakfast. There was ample seating and the selection of food was very appealing and high quality. In addition to the food on display it was possible to order dishes such as eggs made to order. Again, the staff at breakfast were highly professional but friendly. I definitely want to revisit Saint Petersburg and I would definitely consider another stay at the Radisson Sonya Hotel if I do.

Still a bit uncertain on how to quote this hotel... but regardless the staff was very helpful . When you enter the hotel, the bar and restaurant are on the left side but the restaurant is way too small and the food of mediocre quality .The rooms were very dark but spacious, the ceiling was not finished yet and trying to use the light switches was a real puzzle . Great bathroom but dark and a curtain hides the ironing board....bizar. A free bottle of water was present . Luckily this is not an expensive hotel .

What a weird but wonderful hotel. Dark gloomy corridors to get to your room. To be honest the rooms were as well but all in the name of art. Slept like a log as it was so quiet, restful and such a comfy bed and pillows. Great food. Situated in walking distance of so much. Great place.

I stayed here for 6 nights and was impressed by the comfort of my room and the welcome of the staff, who were very attentive. The hotel has a sort of old-world charm but also has all mod-cons. The room was very clean and had excellent facilities including a very modern bathroom. Breakfast was extensive, I can recommend the Russian pancakes, when they are available...! I liked the good quality tea, too.

I recently spent ten days at Radisson Sonya, St. Petersburg. Overall impression positive. Value for money. What I liked : - Efficient, helpful and friendly staff at reception and restaurant. - Location conveniently close to major landmarks. - Very clean room. - Sixth floor room with a view over the roof tops of the city. - Old world atmosphere of hotel. - Well sound-proofed room. - Free strong WiFi connection everywhere. - Wide TV screen with multiple language channels. - Adequate and varied breakfast buffet in spacious atrium. - Good restaurant with reasonable prices. - Good reading lights over bed. What I didn’t like: - For a couple of days breakfast buffet was moved to the restaurant due to an event in the atrium. Cramped space. - Very basic room furniture, limited and open cupboard space. - Few toiletries. - Corridors, furnishings and lighting rather sombre. - Apart from a tiny writing pad, no stationary in the room. - Small fridge door difficult to open.

Enjoyed my stay here last week. The hotel was very helpful in planning my stay to Russia and were quick to answer my questions regarding the visa request application and transportation. One info changed but I found out before I departed home. They had ordered a driver to pick me up from the airport through the concierge, but before I left I emailed to confirm (because they didn't know what time I was arriving) and was told they didn't have concierge anymore. Had I not confirmed I would have been lost and waiting for my nameplate. But luckily I checked and they informed me and then ordered a city taxi to pick me up. The atmosphere of the hotel was nice. I liked it a lot. Kind of chic and a bit modern. The room was very comfortable, nice comfy bed, clean, not terribly small like sometimes in Europe (not huge either), bathroom was nice (apart from the shower which is why I have to knock a star off). That shower head is very, very small. You can see the pic it takes too long to wash and rinse with that little thing. I'm sure if you got a bathtub room it would be fantastic! They had a plug/outlet in the bathroom which is perfect. The mini bar was a little lite (no vodka even) and only one beer. I guess I could have asked for more but I spent a couple of evenings in the hotel bar which I liked very much. Will review that separately as well, but for me to spend 2 of my 3 nights at the same place says a lot (even had the same meal twice), the russian salad with chicken is delicious! Bar did not have a lot of beer options but I enjoyed myself obviously. I would stay here again for sure, and definitely recommend.

We arrived in a group and were given our keys. No one told us to put our keys in the slot in the lift to enable us to go to which ever floor we were on.Having worked it out we then arrived on a dark and not very welcoming floor, we found our room and went in.The room was also quite dark and quite small. There are no drawers to put your things and only six coat hangers for all your other things. We had a writing desk at one end of the bed and something resembling a mantelpiece at the other end of the bed with the tv on.You couldn't lie in bed and watch the tv very easily as the tv is higher than the bed but at the foot of it( dont expect too many English channels other than the news) We went down for our evening meal, what a disappointment. The starter of a tomato and cheese salad wasnt too bad but we asked for something different for main course as we don't eat salmon to be told we would have to wait and see what they could find us. They said that they would do some chicken but it turned out to be pork. The dessert was apple charlotte and not too bad ( all small portions). The second night it was a salmon starter so asked for salad and was was given a plate with a few lettuce leaves with a tomato and some cucumber thrown on top. The main course of chicken was chewy and there wasnt many greenbeans no other vegetables were served with it. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is ok . You can't move the shower screen to be able to turn the taps on etc. Breakfast was served in the same room as the previous nights dinner and was so much better in quality and choice. The hotel is on a busy road where you will find plenty of shops, places to eat and takeaways. There is also a spar shop near by for those little things you need. All in all a three star hotel and not a four but you must remember that other countries star standards arent as good as ours. Oh yeah dont be a vegetarian as they dont understand what that entails as one of our group was given just vegetables for hes evening meal on both nights exactly the same vegetables each night.
