Radisson Royal Hotel, St. Petersburg

This prime hotel's biggest strategic advantage is its location right smack in the heart of St Petersburg's shopping street, Nevy Prospect, within easy reach of the metro, department stores, cafes, Neva canal as well as the train station to Moscow. Its posh factor is underlined by a formally attired doorman and a concierge desk which even offered well-priced tickets for sellout Mariinsky Ballet shows, amongst others. Breakfast was excellent, with champagne, caviar and freshly pressed orange juice thrown in. The well appointed room had a Nespresso machine which was a plus point. The only gripe is that the bathroom floor was a mite bit slippery, and their wardrobe had those dreadful "don't steal me" hangers which cannot be removed from the rail. 5-star hotels do not need to be so cheapskate as to fear guests walking away with the occasional hanger.

4 nights experience in this hotel. rooms are very clean and large enough. The location is great. Nevsky street in the heart of city near to shopping center and restaurants. Breakfast was good enough. Anyway I think it is a high level 4 star hotel (not 5).

We stayed here for two nights in August and would definitely stay here again if we ever returned to St Petersburg. Our room couldn't have been better. It was spacious and tastefully decorated with a bathroom to match. Our breakfast was excellent - they even offered omelettes cooked to order. Service could be a bit hit and miss but the staff were friendly and very willing to help. The building itself was once a spice merchants home and is very centrally placed on the main shopping street with lots of nearby restaurants.Thank you Radisson Royal for such a pleasant stay.

We stayed two nights as part of a Great Rail holiday. The rooms are probably the best we have had on our whole trip with everything you could want other than the absence of a plug for the bathroom sink! However, excusing that, there is no other problem with rooms. However, the "group meal", which was served by the hotel was not good and probably reflects the competition of restaurants and other choices in the immediate vicinity. Breakfast was good though, but not up to the very best standard of breakfast which we have had in other hotels. One young member of the bar staff ahead of our evening meal got very flustered and said she couldn't serve us and even became 'cross' with one or two of our party, because they didn't have change available; a training need probably; however others seemed fine. Very central location for St Petersburg. Would stay here again for sure, but dine elsewhere.

We were so lucky to be transferred here from the original Hotel we booked which had electrical problems. Initially I was a little concerned that we wouldn't get the the quality of accommodation we had booked but this was certainly not the case. Our welcome on arrival was very friendly and professional, check in was quick and easy. As I was travelling with my son we had requested a twin room our room was rearranged to accommodate two single beds immediately. The Hotel is very clean and the attention to detail by the staff is excellent. We had booked on a bed and breakfast basis and breakfast was really good with lots of choice and again the staff were very tentative. The concierge was so helpful providing advise and directions whenever we asked nothing was too much of a problem. I accept the Hotel doesn't have a pool but in city like St Petersburg there is so much to do and see I think it would be unlikely to be ever used. On summary an excellent stay in one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. Thank you

i want to start with pool. 5star hotel and dont have a pool why??every hotel have a pool.. in breakfast time we see the fresh orange juice you can Get juice..but when i arrived in morning at 8am the waiters told me the orange is finish. Servitor can speak english a little so what can i do?? i want a tissue and she/he can't speak english and at last when i arrived to this hotel they dont have Toothpaste and i told them with pantomim😂 TnQ alot

The most unpleasant part of our stay in this hotel was our room on the 5th floor that had NO window except for a small skylight! Even the room was renovated and nicely furnished and comfortable in size, the windowless experience was definitely not pleasant and nor recommended! Otherwise, the general location and ambiance was good enough although the 'hermitage' green color scheme is instantly dated! Breakfast was pretty decent in a pretty crowded space but there was no waiting for a table. Other members of our tour group seemed to enjoy their rooms that had windwos on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

This hotel had a Very good renovation not long time ago - you can still feel it! The Location is in the very deep centre of St.Petersburg. You can walk easily all over the key places downtown from here. Good service. Good lobby bar. Very active concierge management. Absolutely a hot spot in town for business or tourists demanding a proper quality of service!

After 6 weeks this hotel laundry service was best value. Very close to Nevsky prospekt and faberge museum. Breakfast in dining room was quite disorganised but to be expected. The staff were trying to be very helpful but expectedly language took a few turns. You have to order toast as there was no toaster out for our use. First day they had run out of white bread. Also have to order coffee unless you will drink the flasks of Americano you can get at your table. You can order hot food to your liking and staff member cooks in front of you.

The Radisson was a lovely hotel to spend two nights in. Our initial room was a bit dark with low ceiling and interior facing. When I asked to be moved to a street facing view they did so with no problem and even left a note and some refreshments in our new room. The concierge ( a man--don't remember his name) was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was great. Only complaint was that the hotel was at the end of Nevsky Prospekt and was a bit of a walk to the Hermitage. Might stay closer to that part of St. Petersburg next time
