Excellent location. Great back view on Nevskiy prospect during breakfast and from lobby bar. Great quality of breakfast cereals and breakfast overall. Very expensive minibar, as usual in Radisson.
this property is absolutely not 5 star and the fact that is classified as such is ridiculously misleading. one experience sums it all up - we arrived to check in for 4 rooms in the evening - and there was not a single porter to help with our luggage - we all had to unload the luggage front the taxi and take them up to the rooms ourselves. same thing happened at checkout.
This was our first and last stay at this hotel. Very disappointing. Old, smelly, filthy facility despite a good central location. First room we were assigned had a horrible suffocating air probably from smoke and then cleaning detergent and no ventilation. The rooms are extremely small unless you want to upgrade for a hefty fee. Our room was not cleaned twice during our 6-night stay even after speaking with the reception. Two waitresses are too busy to serve people at breakfast and at least to clean tables. We went to one local restaurant. There are no place to park (even for taxi) in front of the hotel, no one opens the front door for you especially needed when you carry suitcases. The staff is indifferent. There are a lot of hotels nearby recently remodeled, clean and comparably priced. This hotel, based on all, is overpriced. Honestly, we wouldn't even stay there for free.
To say "centrally located" would not be enough of a compliment to this location for a non-Russian speaker. The hotel became the center of our world. English-speaking staff, numerous restaurants (Elki Palki and Palkin both highly recommended) in close walking distance. Fantastic room service breakfast available. Taxis have easy access in front of the building, along with the Autobus stop. Nearby Metro station (very short walk). Fly Station skydiving practice wind tunnel was a long drive but very affordable by taxi. Dans le Noir (eat in the dark, served by blind waitstaff) only a short drive for an unforgettable experience. Well-stocked mini bar and snacks. Very clean room; complimentary water (don't drink the tap!) Got the room in a package price with the airfare and couldn't have asked for any better value. Hotel has an outstanding reputation among the locals as being top of the line. Many expressed approval when we mentioned where we were staying. The American influence of KFC, McDonald's, etc. is creeping in on Nevsky Prospekt, but it makes it somewhat familiar to the average American tourist visiting a foreign country for the first time. All nearby restaurant menus have English explanations. Stern looking security at the front door, but nice to know they are on "your side" of things. Highly recommend this location, and we will be back again next year.
Most of the staff was nice except for that concierge. She always seemed too busy to give us her full attention. The room was clean and quiet and the location is great
The hotel concıerge was very polite and helpful concerning our questions and did her best to make us feel comfortable in St. Petersburg.
Room clean-up not attentive enough. We stayed for 6 nights and everyday we came back to notice... either the bathroom shampoo/ body lotion not replenished, or bottled water missing, or uncleaned coffee cups still lying there ... The currency exchange machine never worked.
