Avoid this place like the plague. Several weeks after our stay they charged our credit card for our stay, which they claimed we hadn't payed, even though we had payed in cash, and the receptionist said our payment was sufficient. A bit over a month after we had come home they claimed that we stilled owed them several thousand rubels and charged our credit card. Even though we tried to explain the situation in several e-mails that the receptionist had given us the price we had payed, they refused to admit any wrongdoing and to refund even partly the sum. There are several nice places to stay in St. Petersburg. This is not one of them.
The hotel itself is very small, but the stuff is friendly and kind. The rooms are very good. During morning, from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, they serve an oppen buffet breakfast. Tea and coffee are offered for free 24/24. In your absence everyday, they clean your room and change the towels.
Dear Alexandra, Thank you so much for your wonderful service! You helped us with Russian; navigating St. Petersburg: cabs, bus, trains and metro; as well as the small things like making sure our postcards got into the mail. Truly excellent, personal support. Your hotel is wonderful too, a great value for the money. Conveniently located near a 22 bus stop and small market. Rooms aren't fancy, but they are clean and comfortable. We will stay again when we return to St. Petersburg. Staying at the Admiralteyskaya eliminates the problem of where to stay! Best wishes and many thanks!
Very wellcoming staff. Lovely hotel. Good food. Breakfast and transfers are included in hotel price. Hotel is located in a quiet island with lots of river/canal walks and about 30min walk to city centre (can also take taxi or public transport) We were allowed to park our car in hotels private driveway , which was very nice of them. There is a security guard at the entrance and loaction is very quiet (no through traffic) Very worth the price we paid. Only thing I wish was better is the walls in our room, they were in need of a lick of paint as the walls looked worn out and lost the white colour. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on a budget. Also they bake biscuits, when you get there, make sure you have some from reception.
People who are working in the hotel have really been doing their best to make it up for the smelly rooms, stinking rusty shower water, poor or no cleaning, worn out bedlinen with holes in it and towels that look as if wild dogs just finished fighting over them. References left by obviously real people did not match the reality whatsoever. I had to change rooms three times in a desperate attempt to find one that actually is suitable for people with sense of smell but it was probably taken. My poor travel pillow was left behind as I was rushing to another hotel and when I called to claim it I was told that it was never found...makes one wonder... I got an impression that people working at that hotel are held responsible for the feedback the hotel is getting so I want to emphasize that they did what they could to keep me happy(with an exception of a cleaning team: somebody's hair in my bed is just not ok).
First time here,TOO short, enjoyed very much, most of all in the night, beautiful cathedrals and buildings lighted, visited many things but missed a lot, reason to go again and in the same Hotel!! A lot of good restaurants, pubs, shops in StPetersburg
remember you are in Russia not USA ,nice budget hotel, the staff are so friendly , they will help with prices of taxi and distances, they won,t let you overpay. one day taxi did not come and receptionist hop in her car and gave us a ride to Hermitage. breakfast is Russian breakfast and well. St Petersburg is unbelievable beauty and safe. we walked around the town along the water first day , 20 min we were at Hermitage.
This hotel is really good for stay for a short time. Free breakfast buffet is served every morning. Good restaurant, very delicious food. Free shuttle bus is provided to nearest subway station. Pricing is good for winter, for summer- little expensive.
My wife and I were put here for 4 nights as part of a package tour and loved the place. It is on a quiet island across a small bridge from the rest of town. It is about a mile from the Mariinskiy Theatre and about 2 miles from the nearest metro station. However, the hotel operates a free shuttle that runs in the morning and evening (but not in the afternoon) to connect to the Metro--and they will drop you anywhere along the way as well. With a little planning, you can manage just fine. We really enjoyed the quiet out there. The room was very comfortable with a solid bed and a good-sized bathroom. Breakfast was basic, but good. Most of the staff does not speak English--this is not an American tourist place at all--but we managed just fine. All in all a delightful place. Oh...the square where the shuttle let's you off has lot's of cheap little cafes and some of the tastiest bread you ever encountered! We did not encounter a single person speaking English along the way, so if that matters to you, you might want one of the big tourist complexes. But again, we loved it!
The Hotel was very beautiful inside and the service excellent. the people incredibly helpful and multi lingual . I will be returning here soon. Hotel so efficient well laid out the beds and the decor was so charming vintage and beautiful I felt like royalty . This place is absolute gem.only issues is it is about over a mile and half from the city center.
