great location. nice and clean hotel the enterance is horrible. smelly and old the elevator didn't work (part of the time) not good for old people and for handicap. the matrixes are very old. BUT the staff are just great, everyone were very helpful polite and a lots of will to help - especially NINA - I couldn't give the exact grade - it is 4 not exellant
One of the girls in the reception was very service minded and friendly. She spoke English very well, and helped us with the information we needed. The hotel had also a perfect location! The room was clean and OK. April 28 - May 2, 2016
The hotel room was clean and the breakfast was fair enough. It is a small hotel but in a good position, 10-15 min walking from the very heart of the city. The price is at the moment very affordable due to the weak ruble and the low season. Nothing to complain at, although the decor of the entrance and the stairs could be improved and the room interior needs some renovation.
I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times and in my estimation it has gone down a bit since my last stay. The room was small but ok. There was no fridge or tea and coffee making facility. The staff had some English, but it was quite limited. There were a bunch of noisy people staying when I stayed and they weren't told to keep their noise level down. The good thing about this hotel is it's location. It is just around the corner from Sennaya Square and the metro, and a five or ten minute walk to Nevsky Prospect and the major sights of St Petersburg. Good if you're on a budget.
Last night I was staying at the hotel my macbook pro and kindle has been stolen from the room. I was out for an hour. Somebody just opened my room with a key, took all valuables he could find, closed the door with the key. Obviously this person is related to the hotel staff. After reporting about the issue to local police I was answering stupid repeating questions for 4-5 hours. Next day I had a 18-hour flight without my laptop or ebook. The room itself equipped with 2 twin beds instead of one queen. Mattresses are so old that you can feel every spring. Shower cabin doors broken. Shower holder broken. TV remote doesn't work. One light bulb doesn't work, another makes high pitch noise. Floor, curtains, blanket, everything is smoked through. Despite I asked for non-smoking room. Hotel staff is unfriendly.
We stayed for two nights, the hotel is very well located, the building is very old and worn but we found it rather charming, room was spacious and clean and quiet, beds were comfortable, staff speaks only Russian but they were very helpful and nice, and seemed so sincerely concerned when water pipes froze and I couldn't have a shower on second night it made me not mind that. Reception is open 24hours. Breakfast is included with room and although simple is available from 7 to 10.30am which I think is rare. Good Wi-Fi. All in all, simple and a good choice for a couple of nights.
My last visit was in June 2014. I haven't changed my opinion, the price is quite reasonable considering the location, which is very important for me (close to the universities I have to go to), good breakfast and always friendly staff (at least I never had a misfortune to get no help or no answer). There is Coolmart on both floors; and it's very convenient as I did not have to buy water to drink. Wi-fi is always useful though sometimes the signal is weak, but most of the times it was OK. This time I was also pleased to see many friendly guest of the hotel so we were greeting each other, like at breakfast time or meeting at the corridor. I would recommend this hotel for both tourist and those who come on business but I would like to advise those coming not to expect a "5 -star hotel service" for such a price. Then you'll obviously be quite satisfied.
The "hotel" is very dirty. The recepcionists pretend speak English but do not understand anything we say. One of them tried to fool us by saying that the taxi from the hotel to the train station was 400 rubles and time changed to 500. Breakfast is also dirty. The building is very old and the stairs are destroyed.
Many of the reviews are rather objective: the hotel is basic and clean but nothng more. The location is quite OK (central and safe), the breakfast was surprisingly good - a buffet breakfast, modest but for all tastes including fried aggs and porridge (really didn't expect after all) but it's hard to find the entrance - I agree, just one medium size towel per person - a great dissapointment (I don't have a habit to take towels with me when I'm travelling), and the staff is rather indifferent to guests. No tea and coffee faciliteis (all small hotels in SPb have them already for guests) - I asked for a cup of tea and I get an explanation "only for breakfast" though the next morning I realized that they have a cooler. All small hotels in SPb provide free tea and coffee 24 h for their guests and I was really surprised with the refusal. The hotel is clean, the room was extremely small, the sheet really doesn't cover the mattress. It's not noisy from the outside (important) but you can clearly hear the voices of other guests (but it's not the feature of only this hotel). The Wi-fi is free and good. Briefly: OK but for the same price you can find the plenty of mini-hotels not rated but better in quality.
This so-called mini-hotel is located in the very center of St. Petersburg. It’s a three-minute walk from the hotel to Sennaya Square, about ten-minute walk to Nevskiy Prospekt ( Nevskiy Av.), windows of some of rooms of the hotel face Griboedov Canal. The nearest subway station is 2-3 minutes away and there’s also a bus terminal which is on your way from the hotel to the subway station. There’re some restaurants, fast-food outlets and two big trade-and-entertainment centers nearby. So, the location of the hotel is AAA. The interior of the hotel is pretty good. The hotel is located on the second storey of a historical building but there’s an elevator if you care. The interior is simple but there’s everything a regular traveler needs. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathroom is equipped well and kept clean. At least in room #11 there we stayed. This rooms is located right next to the cafeteria, so you don’t have walk far for some hot or cold water – they have a water dispenser in the cafeteria, no kettle in the rooms. They serve breakfast which are included in the room rate. I can say that the breakfast is pretty good. Some people say that the choice is limited and everyday it is all the same but I say that it enough to start your day in the city. You can even ask girls to cook a scrambled egg and sausages if you want. The personal is polite and not intrusive. And I must say a couple of words about the hotel management. I can assure you that these people care about their clients and do their best to help them. In my particular case it was like this. I made a non-refundable booking in another hotel which also belongs to the Comfitel Hotel Network. But later I found this last-day offer in the Demidov Bridge hotel. It was about the same price but the location of the hotel and condition of the rooms were better. Although my reservation was non-refundable I decided to call the manager ( Anna Drozdova) and ask if it was possible to change my reservation from one hotel to another. Well, I’ll drop the details and say that they did it and we spend a few days in the center of the city right on the New Year’s eve. And we even were presented with a bottle of Champaign and a bar of chocolate on New Year’s eve. The bottom line of my story is that we were pleased to stay in this hotel!
