This is my favorite hotel in Piter - very nice rooms and an exquisite breakfast. Add smiling and friendly staff and interiors from history, and you understand what I am thinking about. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I had a really enjoyable time at this hotel, Breakfast was absolutely sumptuous, and was accompanied by a pianist on 2 occasions. The room was spacious and the bathroom was generous in size. The hotel is close to the metro and to the main shopping strip in St Petersburg. My only criticism ( and this was true of all hotels in Russia), was that the heating was overpowering for us.

We stayed five nights at this hotel and enjoyed the room (shower, bed, pillows, space, decor). The hotel is in a quiet side street just half a block from the busy promenade. The lobby and shops are beautiful, and the bar is really terrific. It was easy to walk to many palaces and cathedrals although we used a driver and guide one day as there is so much to see. Uber works in Russia so don’t hesitate to use it (we got way overcharged by a cab driver one night before we knew) or let the hotel find you a taxi. I really can’t say enough about this hotel...it was lovely (and expensive). But really special. Oh, there’s a great local burger joint almost across the street called Farsh (you’ll have to figure out the Cyrillic alphabet!).

+ 1. very spacious and clean rooms 2. doormen at the building very helpful and friendly 3. reception and concierge knowledgable and helpful 4. great bar with live piano - 1. we had twice to remind the hotel that we would like rooms to be cleaned by 14 hrs. 2. also waiting for coffee cups lasted 30 minutes in the room service. -> however, the concierge realised and when we came back after the ballet, we found a bottle of champaign in our room ;) . They realised how to turn the mishap into an experience we will always remember!

Had a wonderful time staying at the Belmond Grand in St Petersburg Russia. Hotel is beautiful beyond compare. Concierges on duty (not just 1 but 3 at a time) were commendable. Beautiful room with minibar and coffee machine. Fruit platter on arrival was the biggest received ever in any hotel we have been with compliments from mgmt. Elemis to die for bathroom products replenished abundantly daily. World famous restaurant experience superb cuisine and charming Maitre'd. Close to all major sights in the city. Loved it!

We had an excellent stay in Grand Hotel Europe! This time we chose Terrace room and I have to say, that even in the winter time it's worth it! The view was just amazing! The location could not be better, walking distance to the main attractions and many good caffes and restaurants around. We stayed with a middle size dog and I was surprised in a good way how dog-frindly the hotel is! Many thanks to all the wonderful people, who work at this hotel, you make this place very special (special thanks to the Reception, Guest Relations and breakfast team). Looking forward to coming back soon!

Located opposite the clocktower on Nevsky Prospect, just a short walk from the Russian museum, this is a brilliant hotel. We booked through an agent and got a really great deal - this is not a cheap hotel. One of the best breakfast buffets you can find but why go past excellent sparling Russian wine, blinis and caviar for a lovely start to the day. Excellent bars and restaurants and facilities. Afternoon tea in the mezzanine area is superb - you won't need dinner afterwards. Another highlight is a vodka & caviar bar. Terrific service, very comfortable rooms. Excellent concierge.

So I will start with positive things: 1. The hotel is really perfectly located for visiting St Petersburg, especially if you are in the city for the 1st time. It is in a very center of the city and within walking distance to many sights. 2. The lobby of the hotel is cosy. 3. The room was quite comfortable (with some exceptions, which will mention with negative points of the hotel). The negative points: 1. The Service! We've stayed at the hotel for 3 night and we've faced several issues. 1st at the SPA of the hotel our reservation for massage was not noted or "disappeared". Which to be fair after addressing the problem to a guest relation, the hotel and SPA apologised for their mistake and tried to solve it as they could. 2nd when we book a 5 star hotel we usually hope to be able to rest in our room whatever the day is. Unfortunately we were given a room just under the ball room of the hotel and the 31st of December the music from the New Years party organised by the hotel in our room was as loud as, I guess, it was at the party itself. Nobody gave us any choice to choose if we wanted to sleep or not, when we addressed the problem to the Reception we were told that it is like that, that it is New Year and that they can't and won't do anything about it. Nobody ever mentioned to us at no point that we will not be able to rest all night of the 31st of December and that will be obliged to hear loud music from the party. Most probably we would have chosen another hotel if we knew about it. And when I speak about loud I really mean loud it was not just some small noise and tourists who try to find some faults, it was a real party in our room. 3d after return from our trip I have contacted hotel by email for the same problem, I didn't even receive any answer nor explanation. 2. The room was elegantly decorated and quite comfortable (except the noise) but the mold in the shower of a 5* hotel is unacceptable. 3. We've ordered room service one of the nights and the food was cold and really average. As for me the hotel is very far from 5* level so far. It is not bad neither but really not up to standards. It could be a nice hotel but the people, the service and attitude towards guests is inseparable part of the experience when we travel and on that point it was really quite a bad experience.

Just Few steps to Metro, Clean, Service is ok but not too impressive likes 5 star hotel. A variety of pillow choices for us to choose. Bed is hard which i like. Breakfast is ok. There are Red caviar, Champagne, Russian crepes, Miso soup, variety of bread, oatmeal, but limited the hot dish. By the way, They dont provide information to customer for the changes. They have changed the breakfast room without information or any sign in the hall or lift then we have to go up and down to find as well as the opening time of fitness center has changed without any information too.!

Everything about this hotel is perfect, and I never say that. Location is fantastic, our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and well appointed (thank you for the upgrade), restaurants all wonderful, breakfast is extraordinary, but most of all, the service is exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff all went out of their way to take care of every detail and anticipate everything an unwary traveller might encounter. The hotel is luxurious right down to its Christmas decorations. We enjoyed two dinners at Azia, and the buffet breakfast (complete with pianist) is something to be seen to be believed. I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
