I have stayed at 21C hitels before, but never this one in St. Louis. The facility is beautiful! Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was huge! The amenities here are wonderful. The pool is beautiful, and the hot tub is huge. The check in process was smooth and quick, and we got a very early check in. The gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating and especially cordial. The only downfall was the neighborhood. That, however, is not a hotel problem, but a St. Louis issue. I always forget how dead the St. Louis downtown is unless there's a Cardinal baseball game scheduled. Walking through a pretty dark and desolate downtown to get back to the hotel late at night is concerning. I walk all over downtown Chicago at all hours and never feel unsafe, but I dont have the same confidence in downtown St. Louis.

Cool, but quite a few misses in my opinion

The hotel is in a good spot close to union station activities and everything else is 10min away which isn’t a bad drive. Loved that it was artsy and cute decor. Cute bar inside. Did not have enough time to experience restaurant but the menu sounded good. The fitness spa area is a nice accommodation and visiting the art free museum associated with hotel was nice to bum around. My stars were due to walking in not feeling like the staff was very accommodating and acted annoyed with me and eachother so that was different. Just weird attitudes kind of cool kids not really great concierges. But, Finding street parking was easy on a weekend so appreciated that. But, they are limited in carts and The elevators were all broken except one so that took forever. Room appeared semi clean. They left only a 1/4 used toilet paper roll and a few tissues back in tissue box. Just odd. So the staff didn’t even restock and there was food and drinks left in the fridge from previous people. So I felt like it was “fake” cleaned. There was a wad of hair on our bed and in the bathtub it had another wad of a dust bunny. The coffee machine would have been great but they didn’t stock any cups. Maybe they were trying to encourage you to go to their coffee shop. Which I did and it was good and the staff there were probably the most with the program. It was fine. I’d come back to try their Spanish restaurant but would probably stay elsewhere with my family next time. We did all like the decor in hotel

To start off the valet was amazing and the staff was great. The bartenders were on point and our waiter was very helpful too. The little coffee shop was great for a quick breakfast and the robes were like a hug from your loved one. Room were really cool with an older feel yet modern. The gallery was very unique and loved all the amenities. Only thing I would say I didn’t like was the pillows on the bed. But all in all would definitely stay again if ever in St Louis.

I’ve been visiting St. Louis for over 12 years and used to try different hotels — until I stayed at 21c. Since that first visit, I haven’t stayed anywhere else. It had a fresh energy, a unique atmosphere, and the kind of people that made it feel exciting. The real standout has always been the staff, especially the bar and restaurant team — people like Carson, Cam, and JoJo. Their effort, warmth, and attention to detail make every stay feel like more than just a hotel visit. Over time, they’ve become familiar faces and genuine friends. But on my most recent stay, I was let down — not by them, but by housekeeping and management. My room simply wasn’t clean: mould in the shower, someone else’s hair, stains left untouched, and amenities not replaced. Once you see it, you start noticing more — and unfortunately, I did. I raised it with the team (not even their job to fix) and they went out of their way to make things right — offering a credit and even leaving a bottle of their own gin in my room. Lovely gestures, truly appreciated — but the mould was still there the next day. The issue wasn’t fixed. For a short stay, I’d still recommend it. But for anything longer, if you value cleanliness and comfort, I’d think twice. The team out front are brilliant — but they’re being let down by what’s happening behind the scenes.

The property is very special, with a historic and totally renovated pool and spa, and a large art exhibit. The bar and lobby are loaded with art and beautifully designed surroundings. Only one of three elevators were working this week, so a lot of waiting and frankly feeling unsafe. The breakfast restaurant is good. There is no lunch option and the front desk has zero intel regarding outside options. The dinner menu is ridiculously expensive and not very enticing. Drinks are crazy expensive ($14 for 3 oz of sav blanc) The valet is $45/night in kind of a rundown, crummy neighborhood.
