Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Restaurant needs better menu - very limited. Pool was not open week I was there.
Bad part of town.... friendly staff but pool area dirty pool was Ice cold.. hot tub had no water in it... dirty dishes laying on a shelf next to elevator.... room was ok but dirty... lights didn't work in room.
The room had water damage that needed to be repaired. Our curtains were dirty and stained. In addition the walls had stains and need to be cleaned up. The bathtub did not appear to be clean. The bottom portion was stained and gave the appearence of dirt and grime. The rollaway bed was dusty. I would have enjoyed my room more and felt better about my stay if these simple things would have been cared for and repaired. The service in the restaurant was slow.
Expected more considering it was a Radisson and 3 1/2 stars. Kind of dingy and the pillows were huge and hard. The description made the room seem like it had a pull out couch bed but it does not have that option on the dbl queen. The toiletries were nice. TV remote didn't work. Neighborhood is really run down. Not good for families but I'm sure it's fine for adults or business.
Hotel was ok, stayed there because it had a hot tub. Got there hot tub was out of order, really wish there was a way they could have let us know via online etc. Also NO free breakfast and no hotel guide in room, had to manually switch TV over to the HDMI setting every time we shut it off. Have stayed at multiple hotels in St. Joseph it is probably or 5th choice down there now. If you need downtown convenience it's a good hotel to stay at.
Really only had dinner And slept here. Rooms were very nice and clean. Ate in restaurant and food was pretty good.
Did not have wash cloths in rooms. Had room service and they did not bring forks and knifes to eat with. So they remade the the food that took 30 min for pancakes and french toast and the forgot the forks again. I had to walk down to the restaurant and get my own and their wasn't a waitress in their at that time. Also so could not swim because their was a party and then they cleaned it all Sunday morning.
The lobby and associated amenities were lovely, beautifully appointed with marble floors and classic woodwork. The room was OK but could use some work as it a panel off the wall for some kind of plumbing repairs and the outside door handle only worked if you pulled up, counterintuitive.
My wife and I spent a very pleasant night at this property. Downtown St. Joseph isn't exactly a hopping place, but there are many great old houses, churches and museums a few blocks from this Holiday Inn. We paid a little extra for the breakfast option and it was well worth the cost. If the options are between this location and the generic places on the Interstate, I suggest you take the bypass to this fine place.
Beautiful lobby, excellent staff - Friendly professional & hardworking. You get upstairs and realize that this hotel is a bit old & worn, even though it is kept well. Works fine for a place to crash.
We did enjoy our room and stay at this holiday inn, it is just strange that a hotel at this cost doesn't have a continental breakfast. Otherwise, clean spacious room and quiet.
We were in town for an event at the Civic Arena and this location was perfect!! Friendly staff!
Stayed here twice. Can't say enough about the staff. Arrived extremely late both times. Host was alert and friendly. Room was clean & comfortable.
Had a great short visigt. Room was great, restaurant was wonderful.
Although the hotel was in the process of remodeling, it was a very nice stay. This was our second to last stop before arriving home. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We ate at the restaraunt located in the hotel, Houlihans, had a Tuscan Salad that was absolutely wonderful. The Rosemary Chicken was delicious also. It was a good stay as we make our journey home from our two week vacation. The huge pool and lounging area, which was closed for renovations, would be great for a family of any size when it reopens.
We just slept there but it was nice. However, we didn't have any soap in the bathroom. There were hairs in the sink and the food at the restraunt was greasy.
Working stay, so use of the restaurant room service and speedy, reliable internet service were great assets. And the housekeeping staff was excellent and concerned.
I requested non-smoking room and received a smoking room. There were cigarette burns in the carpeting as well as cosmetic damage to the furniture. Otherwise the room was fine. It reminded me of a cheap hotel though.
The hotel was nicely maintained but as with most Holiday Inns (not Express) their room furnishings are a bit tired. This hotel is right on the MO river so nice view but there is also a freight train line between the hotel and the river that is active ALL NIGHT (complete with blasting horns every 30-45 mins). The restaraunt has nice food and great kids eat free promotions. Indoor pool was nice with extremely warm water but a bit cloudy with massive chlorine levels.
Food was much better than usual for this chain of hotels. View of Missouri River is obstructed by elevated highway and railroad on west side of hotel is noisy at night. Best to pick a room facing east. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
