This was our 5th or 6th trip to St. Augustine. We usually stay at the Summerhouse complex but it was not available for this trip. Overall the stay was ok. The location of the unit is great, very close to the beach. Renters have access to 2 pools, tennis courts, basketball court. All great. But what didn’t make it so great is a week long drilling and dust all over the patio that we couldn’t really enjoy until evening each day. It was the selling point for me for this condo to pay the premium price so we were disappointed to say at least. Condo inside was very clean and well stocked but the outside furniture required quite a bit of cleaning prior to first use and then throughout the week due to all the dust from the constructions on units near by. I wish host disclosed this prior to booking, we would not pay the premium price to stay at this unit. Also note for other renters who may travel with kids excited for pool. Neither pool is heated so the water last week of March was still quite freezing in both pools. Unit also has zero beach equipment, the storage that usually contains some basics like sand toys or boogie boards was locked so nothing provided. That’s quite unusual for a beach rental too.
