An old hotel, very well kept. More like a business hotel. Staff is very helpful. Location is wonderful. Near the beach and in the main city life line. Food is not so good, but then there are many other joints near by. Will use again
I booked the room at Omega Regency Hotel for me and my daughter for ten nights from Dec 9 thru 19, 2017. Since her company provided her with a nice apartment room nearby, she only came for breakfast, which is fairly good. The 24-square-meter Room 306, where I stayed, has recently been renovated and has a nice street view, a spacious bathroom, an armchair, a desk chair, and a big brand new clothes closet which I really love. The biggest room with a king-sized bed for two I have ever stayed in in my life! A lot of shops and mini markets and a big super market nextdoor, Arpico. So, I woul d say it was relatively good value for money. The downsides are : 1. the tv sucks. So, count it out , 2. the wifi is a fiasco, 3. the employees are nice but unmotivated, overworked, and maybe underpaid as well, 4. they insisted on my paying cash in LKR, I had to go to a money changer for it the day after next (Monday), they asked me to pay the 97% of the total cost with a receipt that day , and the remaining, fishy 3% without a receipt when I checked out.
We had breaksfast and lunch in the restaurant for more than 2 weeks at the Omega Hotel and we always enjoy it. They have good variety and Cook it on the range of Spice that you want. Good choice for very reasonable price.
We stayed in this hotel for 14 nights and honestly it deserves the 1 star displayed at it's Front Desk. The customer service was terrible, right from the get - go. Even after complaints made, no service recovery and their apologies were so empty and superficial; actually getting nothing fixed or sorted out. The room itself was clearly not maintained, the AC always leaking and making loud disturbing noises. The bathroom was poor, worse than my own at home. it also had a damp/old odor to it. Room Service and Housekeeping very inconsistent. The WiFi was exceedingly poor. at times there was no signal at all. Frequent power cuts and TV channels not functioning. The food was not bad, since it came from the restaurant downstairs but too much of their food will keep u on the toilet frequently. The only advantage was the proximity with Galle Road and the beach side. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here more than 5 days especially if you are with family or a partner.
I stayed 2 nights there with family. Hotel seems to be not maintained properly. Furniture are old and dusty. Some electronics in the room may not work some times. Bath rooms have odd smell. No car park. vehicles will be parked in the lane. Hotel rates are reasonable for it's offering. easy access to Gall road. You can find the restaurant at the ground floor which the food is great compared to other places nearby and prices are also reasonable. Hotel staff is very friendly and willing to help. This hotel can be improved with very little effort.
The tariff is reasonable, as its a hotel with very old decor, furnishing, fixture and amenities. Wi-fi signals is weak and even AC may be troublesome. If you complain to the authorities they are good at making excuses. Location is in favour - market place, railway station and indian ocean is the very close by. This place is best for families only. Not a good option for solo travellers and travellers on business trip.
They gave us a room on top floor and it was great room. Room was spacious and you could see Arabian Sea in distance. Room was dim lit but was very comfortable. Bathroom was luxurious and had a jacuzzi tub. Why do I not find those in most 5 star hotels I stay in? Internet speed is decent to get some work done. However, there are not many vegetarian options in this hotel. We definitely couldn't enjoy any food at this hotel. However, I would definitely recommend to stay here. Staff was very nice to us.
After the horrendous experiece at Cinnamon heights at Borella, checked in at Omega Regency. Its a tried and tested one for me. Hotel is ideally located and restaurants / Medicals / Shops stones throw away. Service is quick and friendly. Food is delicious and the breakfast menu is sumptuous. Wifi is good and rooms spacious. Stayed on 3rd Floor.
Highlly courteous staff with good value for the money in the busy road of colombo Me and my sir and along with another staff and his wife with a 1 year kid has visited colombo for a conference in feb 2016. We booked the room for 5 days. I was little bit in hesitation when I first booked this hotel because of its low price ( comparitively 40 percent less than other hotels) . Why I selected this hotel is that it is in Galle road and with little bit of my previous tours I can make out that it is in the centre of the colombo. Right from the day of booking I have mailed them 100 times and patiently I got reply for all my mails. Another reason why I choose this hotel is that most of the day time we will be roaming about in the conference. We needed a room with good beds, descent bathrooms with hot water supply. Actually we checked-in too early in the morning and immediately we were alloted the rooms. It is the busy road road of Galle and near to everything – everything I mean it. Hotels, Restaurants, shopping malls, bars , South Indian eatouts. The reception staff is very courteous , polite and infact one person by name Sameera at reception became a good friend of ours. Thanks to Shawantha Kulatunga for patiently answering our queries. Infact they have guided about good tourist spots in colombo and malls for shopping. They have arranged kandy trip. The rooms are very descent with daily sanitised bathrooms . It is best suited for an average indian who cannot afford to spend much on accomodation. There is a small attached hotel to it. You are provided with 24 hours unlimited internet which saved many of our phone call charges. I f were to get a chance we will visit along with our families next time. I forgot to mention we got free 4 hrs of extended time for check out as our flight was in odd hours.
The place is old and despite some renovations, a lot needs to be done. The lift works only half of the time. Sometime the doors will not open. Wi-fi is the same: now, it's on, now it's out. TV is old and outdated. Not a good value for the price asked.
