Stayed in Bentota for two nights - along with family and friends, superb resort value for money and great food, loved this place , the beach and lot of activities to do in the area, sea food is at its best. Would recommend Bentota for families
Very clean rooms and bath rooms are clean and neat. Friendly staff members and they upgraded our room to a deluxe while we checked in. Pool is very beautiful and there's many water sports including jet ski , banana boat & etc. food is great and it's a very good place for a relaxing weekend with your family and friends.
We visited this legendary hotel with high expectations…..only good helpful security service……front office staff ridicules. No welcomes we collect our keys and find our rooms…even some of us no welcome drinks…… We heard about hotel to be closed for a renovation …. Rooms old type…..we reserved double room but another bed in the room. I called to front office and they said additional bed will be removed at the evening but no one came…. Bath rooms not good. No soap in our bathroom and I asked for a room cleaning service and then they give soap. Good pool, nice garden, clean beach, good wifi…. Foods are delicious but less varieties… Restaurant staff full busy Poor service ….poor attending…….
Had a Deluxe room with a wonderful view. Room was spacious apart from the tiny bathroom available. Off season time, hence not much variety in food. Had to face a headache and staff came in a flash and helped. Appreciated...
We went on a family trip back in March to Bentota Beach. The architecture of the place looks wonderful. During check in we received a standard room which was not very good. The room looked dark and uninviting. Toilets were horrible, the bede shower was not functioning and it looked like they have not done a proper cleaning of the toilet in a while. Come out of the toilet and tried calling the reception to clean the toilet and to see the phone in the room was not working. Took some snaps and walked to the reception and showed them and they immediate upgraded us to a new room which had a fantastic view of the river. Went for breakfast the next morning and the baby chair they gave us was broken, they didn't have a replacement and we ended up feeding the baby on the broken chair which was very dangerous. He staff was helpful, it's just that they had to work with a old and tired hotel and equipment. The hotel garden and pool was very good and we had a very nice time. My advice to travelers is to check your room and toilet before you unpack otherwise you will end up repacking and shifting rooms.
Won a gift voucher of a one night stay for 2 full board. Arrived around 2.15PM and the room was given within 5 minutes. Whats more, the voucher was for a standard room but they upgraded us to a suite! Nice start to our holiday! The room was beautiful, spacious and cool, having 3 ACs to cool the entire suite! Food was superb as well and staff was very helpful and polite. Whats more, we requested for a late checkout time of 1.30PM which they were ok with as well! Overall awesome stay and this remains by far the no.1 hotel I have visited in Sri Lanka!
We are staying at Bentota beach currently and the service does not look like close to 4 star or 5 star.. We are at the restaurant and there are hardly 3 Vegetarian items on the Menu and upon requesting the manager to cook a veg dish he.arrogantly denied.. he says we cant prepare any Veg dish out of the Menu and guess what they did serve Yellow Dal and Lady Finger dish as part of a Prawns dish.. I believe this prooves the manager wrong when he claimed they cant prepare any veg dish... I have stayed in Many 4 stars and 5 stars acccross the world and they go out of the way to make your stay pleasant.. The property also looks run down.. I last stayed here in 2010... on 29th dec 2016 the property looks run down.. leakage in the room.. infact I heard many guest complaining the same.. water running out of bathroom into the bedroom.. we litterally had to put a towel to stop water.. the cleaner came to clean the room saw the towel but left it as it is ... I would not recommend at least the restaurants and this property if you are a Pure Vegetarian.. The restaurants staff behave as if the whole world has turned NonVeg and over night all Veg food has vanished.. Rrally pathetic experience...
A beautiful beach hotel, had a lovely time throughout the stay ,the front office manager roshani was superb caring us throughout the stay as she helped us alot at habarana village earlier also..she made the stay very pleasant..please look for roshani and the team for any help at front desk as they were excellent. And also the food was amazing..Thumbs up for all the services provided...
We had stayed for 7 nights at avani which is the hotel next door and wanted to extend our stay in the beach area by a few days and thought that it would be nice to try a different hotel. The hotel has a very authentic welcoming feel to it. The rooms are well kept and have nice balconies and large shower rooms. The gardens to the hotel are lovely to walk around and there is a separate sports and spa area which is well worth a visit. Further the hotel is next to the river so there are water sports available also. The only downside to this hotel are the staff. The people of Sri Lanka are lovely and friendly and at the two other hotels we stayed at the staff were exceptional. However at cinnamon we found the staff unspeakably rude. We were asked consistently what our room number was whenever we went for dinner even when we were halfway through our meals. We were ordered where to sit at breakfast by a very angry and unfriendly looking woman. On our last day two staff bundled their way into our room without even asking if they could come in, and proceeded to see if we had used anything from the mini fridge and then left without a word. When we first arrived the fridge was locked and we wanted to use it to keep our water cool. It took six calls to reception before someone came to open it. Overall this is a lovely hotel but needs a whole lot of new staff to better reflect the lovely people Sri Lankan's are.
What a drive to this southern countryside of Sri Lanka. Peaceful and serene, the small cafes are a must to try local cuisine if you'd like. The place offers fresh ground spices. A better time to visit could be towards the end of the year for the weather but the hospitality of the locals doesn't make you feel so humid. Dont miss it!
