Check out is 11am. I asked if they could store my luggage till I went to the train station at 5pm. They said they don't do that! I had to pay for a whole other day! I've never had a hotel do that to me before.
It was the night before a total eclipse and the hotel was full. The people at the front desk were turning people who booked online, and paid on line away. We were booked and did get a room! It was what we requested 2 beds for 4 guests. The room was clean, towel set up for only 2 but that was easily correctable. The air conditioning worked wonderfully. Refrigerator and microwave were in the room and appeared clean. Important points for us. It was a short night for us as we left before breakfast was out. It was much bigger and nicer than we expected.
We were called to Springfield for a family emergency. This hotel was directly across from the hospital. They could not have been nicer to us. Other members of our family stayed there as well. We all thought it was a good value for a decent place to stay. What I liked best was having the staff ask show genuine concern for our family.
Booked online expecting pool when we arrived, pool was closed. Wish they would have mentioned this online when making reservation. Latch lock on door missing. Overall quiet and got a good nights sleep.
The room might have been ok if it were the 1980's. Huge tv and old furnishings, even the phone was so old that I haven't seen one like that in awhile! Lobby and hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. Only stayed one night but could barely sleep because of the trains that passed every couple of hours blaring their horns. Extremely overpriced at $99 dollars which did include taxes. It's situated in a neighborhood that didn't look to safe. To top it off when I finally had to use the washroom in the morning there was no to flush so I had to leave my business sitting there. Explained that to the checkout lady who lives in the hotel and she said she would send the maintenance guy over. I was happy to leave that place. Only stay if you have to, but beware.
We stayed here the night before my husband had surgery and found it to meet our needs perfectly. It's in an ideal location if you will be visiting memorial medical center. The place was dated, but clean. The pool was nice and the bed wasn't horribly uncomfortable. We would stay here again if we woukd ever need to be at MMC early in the morning for any reason.
We got there at 2:30. I only mention that part because check-in is 3:00 and the desk woman let me know that this was sooner than regular hours. I told her we could wait the half hour but she said no that would be alright but you could see from her demeanor that she was unhappy. The room had 2 full beds with a refrigerator and microwave. It was supposed to have a coffee maker with set-up, glasses or cups, blow dryer and other amenities. None of that was there. You know what, not a huge deal but still...that was advertised. My bed was ok but the husband was in the other bed and it was far too soft. I suggested changing beds. The chain lock on the door was broken so there was only the turn lock. The big kicker was the second night. At 10 pm there was a knock on the door and a young man said he was sent by maintenance. I told him we didn't request anything and he said that the front desk sent him. Again, I repeated that we hadn't called. He then wanted to come in and call the front desk. I told him no he couldn't come in and closed the door. He knocked again and said he had to use the phone to call the front desk. I again said no and closed the door. I called the front desk and the woman answering said they did not send anyone and that they would "Turn on the cameras!" Shouldn't those have already been on?? On morning checkout I mentioned the incident and the young lady said they saw no one on the cameras. She then said there was a group of men in room 134 so maybe it was one of them. Um, I was in room 134 and I told her that. She then said he must have been from another room then. The two days we were there we saw only one other car. Needless to say we would never go back
I have PTSD & have a service dog & told the front desk this they said it was fine but would charge for the dog I said can't do that it's a service animal didn't care sued them and won & never went back.
Well you get what you pay for. I must say the beds were pleasantly clean and comfortable. Everything is old but we would stay here again since we just need a place to sleep and not a place to hang out. It was quiet and the staff made sure we taken care of.
Wow was our room disgusting. After moving all day in the hot rain in June. We priceline'd a hotel at like 10pm or so. The mansion view inn was our winning bid, they require a deposit and then do not accept anyone local. So they sent me to homestyle, a sister hotel... haha I walked into a room under the stairs, even tho there was like 3 cars in the parking lot. Our room smelled like stale @$$ and cig. The bed had burn holes and hair all over the sheets... the a.c. was broke, froze up, couldnt sleep bc of all the noise, then the bathroom was dirty, bloody handwriting on the wall that was still red and the shower curtain was slimy! WiFi never worked! Tables and chairs were broken, nothing matched, towels still looked dirty. Needless to say I will never go back there, for there price, drive a lil further...
