Facilities downstairs were ok. Reception area clean. Restaurant clean. The bathroom was very much in need of an upgrade. Hot tap dripping all the time. Bathroom door squeaking when moved. As a result had to leave it open in case I needed to use the loo during the night. As a result I could hear the dripping tap all night.
Arrived early around noon, checked in our car reg at reception to avoid any parking charges and walked the short distance into the city centre. Returned at 1-45pm, checked in, room good, bathroom generally fine, great shower, the exception was the toilet seat that called for a member of staff to give it a thorough clean before we were happy, all done without any fuss. Quiet night in a comfy but if anything, a bed that was a bit on the small side(we are used to kingsized ones) Continental breakfast was included and the choice was pretty good. All in all I would definitely stay here again, very good price, free car parking, free wi-fi, location, staff excellent, polite, helpful and courteous. Well done Days Hotel
Arrive at hotel first of all over flow car park awful and parking was not great check in fine but lack of english was yet again a problem room was big but damp everywhere throughout the building and as being summer i know we are british and that its wet but it is not cold for some reason heating was on through the whole hotel spent all night tossing and turn the bed was two singles pushed together something of a pet hate of mine but to look over that and the beds to still be as uncomfortable as they were but the one plus was the restraunt downstairs food was perfect couldnt complain was very impressed but breakfast was where it all went wrong i was under the impression that breakfast included meant breakfast included i and my partner was shocked to recived a bill for what i can only describe as the worst breakfast weve had i feel you should be made aware of extra charges for a cook breakfast no just be charged no knowing
Great hotel, free parking, 10 mins walk to city centre. My sister and I spent 2 nights here and really have no complaints. Clean room, was rather warm but reception bought us a fan which was very welcome. The beds were really comfy too, yes the decor could maybe do with a little tlc, as in the wallpaper was peeling slightly but really nothing major. Staff were friendly and the whole hotel was kept clean, staff were continually sweeping and pottering around. The continental breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and good quality. We shall definitely return. The only gripe we had was that we were near the door that led to other rooms and it was very squeaky! A little annoying late at night as I'm a fairly light sleeper!! Maybe just a squirt of oil would work!
Pre - booked two rooms for a one night stay, great price from trivago. Had two disabled rooms, they were fine, very clean no problems not being clean, cant vouch for other rooms. But ours were fine, could do with redecorating. Only had the continental breakfast, no problems this was fine and included in the very reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful no problems there.
This was one of the cheapest places to stay in Coventry, but unfortunately the quality reflected the price. The hotel is located about 20 min walk from the train station, but the neighbourhood is not particularly pleasant. As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms were too hot as the heating was still on in july. I fortunately got moved to an ac room on request, but this was still hot as the ac was old and did not work properly. Shower was nice, but appeared to leak. Decent choice on the standard continental breakfast.
I am quite a particular traveller usually but, having to travel to Coventry for work at relatively short notice and, finding a real lack of accommodation in the town centre, I booked a two night stay at Days. As the day approached I started planning my trip and that's when I looked at the reviews more closely. Oh no! What had I done?! The place sounded like a dated nightmare, with no heat control in rooms and tired throughout. An Indian restaurant's a great idea next to a hotel - but in your hotel? I looked on Google street view and saw that it was bang in the middle of a rough residential area too. I tried to cancel my stay and requested a partial refund of the £140 I paid for two nights. The hotel refused within minutes. It's the fastest I've ever known a hotel respond to an email! Oh well - I've paid for it. I might as well put up with it, I thought. When I arrived it was every bit as bad as the reviews said - and worse. A lamp didn't work in my room and the decor was old and tired. I don't know what other people's standards of cleanliness are like, but it certainly wasn't up to mine. Couldn't sleep due to the heat and when I cracked open the window it was too noisy even with earplugs. In the end I only stayed one of the two nights, decamping to the Ibis across the city on the 2nd. There are good, no-frills hotels and then there are places like Days - tired, unloved and, in a day and age where there are good chains and better B&Bs, utterly pointless. What a waste of money.
The first thing that struck me about this place this week was how hot the room was once i checked in.The radiators weren't on in the room but they were in the corridors which for the end of June is ridiculous.I had to leave me windows open all night and with it being on a mega busy main road meant i got very little sleep. On a plus side the restaurant was fantastic.I had a spicy chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice and a chilli naan which was outstanding. One of the best indian curries i have had recently. With 3 pints the bill was a shade over £20 which was great value.Service from the guys in the restaurant was first class.Sort the temperature in the hotel out and i'd be back in an instant.
from the time we parked in the hotels car park and walked in reception we where made to fell welcome the hotel is quiet modern and clean we where on the second floor a lovely room very bright with a good view over the city the bed was comfy the bathroom was a nice size with shower over the bath .we decided to have a meal in the restaurant which had a good choice of indien and English food at a reasonable price the staff where very friendly and helpful the breakfast was continental but you could have a full English at a small cost all in all a very nice 5 days and we would definatly stay again
The hotel was a little rough round the edges, some old mattresses and other rubbish left outside in the car park which would have been better hidden but it was in a good location, plenty of parking on site and the staff were always polite and helpful. The room was clean and had all we needed (including tea and coffee making facilities) but we did have to ask for towels as only one pair had been left for two people. The room was extremely hot (we walked past a radiator on the stairs that was pouring out heat too) so we did have to push the window wide open for the whole of our stay which meant we got some traffic noise. Breakfast was continental, choice of cereals, fruit, some cakes, yoghurt, cheese, jams etc and was very pleasant. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
