This is really a motel with all rooms entrances facing the parking lot, but the rooms and facilities were clean and modern. We did hear the train at night but it was not bothersome.

Cute, little boutique motel. It appears a lot of cosmetic upgrades were done. Good location to downtown, and the price was also good. Is half a block from the elevated train, but they supplied ear plugs for those who may need them. The desk staff were both very friendly and polite. The only negatives that I have are the walls and ceilings above are extremely thin. I could hear the people above me talking, and when they walked around you could hear them thumping about. The fan on the AC/heater makes a strange noise. Other than those, it was a nice play to stay.

The unit was very clean, however the hotel is in the very center of town with a number of vagrants and panhandlers. Someone should have shared that the adjacent wall was one of the towns many railroad overpasses

Not quite there
This is a very old motel/hotel that they purchased and basically just did the bare minimum to spruce it up. Pros - The people checking you in were very nice. The carpets looked clean and the overall first impression was good, it smelled nice when you walked in and they did a pretty good job of decorating. Cons- The doors is leading into the hotel room are ancient probably original to the hotel, you can see light coming through all areas, the windows are probably original as well. Which really wouldn’t matter, but you are facing the train tracks so it is incredibly loud. They did not put mattress covers on, so that’s gross. The fitted sheet was so small that you could see half of the mattress below it, which was incredibly tacky and annoying because they slipped off. The toilet chain was way too long, so the toilet didn’t flush unless you lifted off the cover and pulled the chain. The pillows were the cheapest, most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever experienced. Overall, they really just needed to throw a little bit more money at it to take it to an acceptable level. Replace the doors and the windows, add better fixtures and hardware. Replace the pillows. If you can’t find a fitted sheet that fits your mattresses, use a flat sheet so that it looks nice and doesn’t look like you’re staying at a motel, and 100% start using mattress covers.
