The first impression is that of a college dorm from the Soviet Union...., dark and uninviting lobby and hallways. Nice and helpful staff, the bus stop to old town is nearby, as well as a supermarket. TV includes four to five channels in Croatian, no English news. Breakfast is Ok. The only plus, is that it has air conditioning, specially needed in a city as hot as Split. It´s Ok for a short stay, which is what is needed to see the very few things the city has to offer.
An over priced, old and badly located hotel. Hotel staff were generally rude and not willing to help. Rooms were clean and breakfast buffet was nice. However when we ordered a breakfast from the menu it was terrible.
Nice staff is the only good thing in this hotel. No hair dryer in the room, no toiletries other then soap. 3 star hotel should have it. Everything is quite old but clean. TV is the smallest one I have ever seen. It takes 20-30 minutes walk to the city center, fortunately downhill. To get back we took a cab.
Nothing special about this hotel. Not located in a desirable neighborhood and no parking. Rooms and bathrooms are small but clean. Internet is okay, just serves the purpose. Serves basic breakfast and friendly staff.
This place is disaster. No parking. It's in a middle of nowhere. In the building you have offices...hostel, Loundry buisiness.. Rooms...no comment Only good side is staff, nice and friendly. Didn't had courage to go to breakfast. Avoid at all cost.
Travelling with a group, we did not have much choice about hotels. I still have to understand why anyone would want to stay in this hotel. The room is small, no decor, no working wifi. But the worst part is the location. It is over 20mn walk to Split centre and it is in the middle of an ugly neighborhood with nothing around. Croatia hotels are expensive for what you get but there is no reason to stay in this one.
I stayed in the hostel half of Hotel Dujam with a G Adventures trip and was very disappointed. The wifi did not reach any of the rooms on the second floor, there was no air conditioning and the rooms were insanely hot, the fan in my room was broken, the window was also off the hinge and broken as well, and the lights in the hallway were on a timer - whenever they were turned on, it would take a while for them to flicker on and legit looked like a scene from The Shining. When I asked the man at reception if we could switch our fan for one that worked, he looked at me like I had made the most outrageous request. The hotel is also a half hour walk from downtown through a sketchy neighborhood. Would not recommend at all.
The hotel is located just out of town and can be reached by getting the number 9 bus every half hour-ish. The rooms are small and basic. The wifi doesn't work well on the upper floors and the air conditioning croaks. The beds are immovable which means I was uncomfortably close to my travelling companion that snores like a freight train! Trust me, every cm counts. Breakfast was reasonable and the reception staff where very helpful organising taxis and providing advice for getting to the airport.
This hotel was selected by G Adventures when I toured with then. The hotel is not terrible but the location relative to the old city is very poor. A 20+ minute walk, through a neighbourhood with lots of graffiti, up a long hill (on the way back). If I was booking myself I would have never chosen this location. So that does impact my view. The location problem is exacerbated by the fact that Split does not have an efficient bus service (such a Dubrovnik does). So if you go set aside a little of your budget for cabs, which are generally quite available. The rooms and decor are spare, but not unpleasant. Decent size. The hotel is generally clean with a comfortable size bathroom. It seems that they use a cleaning product that makes the hotel smell like Old Spice cologne. Outside of the lobby wifi is spotty at best. Breakfast wasn't great. Reception staff were polite and generally helpful. One odd thing that seemed to "enhance" the smell of the hotel. The day we were leaving the lobby door was open and there was a pleasant breeze outside. The receptionist got up, I expected to open another door or window for a nice cross breeze. Instead she sprayed what seemed like Febreeze on a few spots on the curtains then came over and closed the open from door. not terrible but kinda weird.
Just a night spent here and it was plenty. No parking allocated for guest. The place is in 70's deco and need a lot of refurbishment. Room was tiny and bed terrible. Bad sleep and backache included in the price. Internet was rubbish. Couldn't even get my emails. Breakfast was average and served in a sad room. Too far from the city center. Need a taxi to come back. I would avoid the place next time.
