We were going to y.w.p and needed to be their early , so we booked into hotel for a night . The staff were nice , and helpful. The breakfast is a normal hotel , self service cooked or continental . The only complaint is the water dropping from the guttering into the flat roof !! The rain varied from light to heavy ! I'd opened the window , and wasn't able to get it to close until my friend did it in morning , a slightly noisy bed but comftable , I would stay again , but not open the window .
Stayed last night for business. I live in Newcastle and had a 8:30 meeting in Doncaster so came the night before to save an early start, or so I thought. Hotel very cheap looking inside, room very bare, small TV, and very uncomfortable cheap bed, but hey it's not expensive and it's better than getting up at 5 to drive down right? Wrong. Outside of my room (214) was a fire door in the corridor, the type that is supposed to be pinned open to the walls by a magnet and releases in the event of a fire in order to slow the spread. Long story short, this was broken, and clearly had been for some time so safety is clearly being compromised presumably because of cost. The faulty door meant that people leaving for flights between 4:30-5:15 AM were having to push it open, and when it swings back it not only slams, it bounces so slams a few times for good measure. As a result I was up at 4:30 and might aswell have stayed at home with my family and got half hour extra sleep, saved the room expense and driven down this morning. I went down to breakfast (which was poor), left half of it then went to check out. I was met with a lady wearing a duty manager badge (Patrycja) who never asked me how my stay was so I took the opportunity myself to mention that the fire door was broken, is a safety risk and had kept me and no doubt other guests awake through the night. No apology was given and I was thanked for letting her know and told she would report it to maintenance. On walking into the car park I got to my car (company vehicle I don't usually drive) and realised the registration was one digit different to the one I had given last night. I saw the barriers in the car park and presumed they were ANPR and I would have an issue getting out so I went back to get my reg amended. My check in form was taken out of a box and given back to me to fill in and then put away again. Somewhat confused as I walked away I was asked if I had the exit code? How would I have the exit code?! Or know it existed? I'd expect to be informed on check out of this maybe? Especially when being seen to by a manager in a hospitality environment. Yes there was a dish at the end of reception with bits of paper with the code on but easily enough missed as I did the first time and was about to the second. So, cheap plain basic room, poor staff, poor food and unsafe to boot. Some people reading this might feel it ok for an overnight before flying but I'm telling you I wouldn't have been happy flying this morning. My stay left me shattered and frustrated. Hotel management please don't respond to my review, it'll be the same firefighting dross always seen under negative reviews in an attempt to restore some credibility, just get it right first time because you certainly won't be seeing me again.
Stayed one night while working at the airport. Good size room but beware the walls are very thin and you can hear what is going on in the next room (The couple next door were having a great time, 3 times to be precise). Small TV and reasonable Wi-Fi. Parking included in price but breakfast extra. Nice staff.
Good service throughout particularly the lady who was in charge of breakfast (Sun 9/7). Room lovely and clean
We stayed at the hotel the night before our trip to save an early start from home. Very good value, plenty of car parking spaces and a comfortable room.
I recently stayed there as i was on a course for 10 weeks. Sunday to Friday, we called the Ramada 'Home'... The staff made us incredibly welcome, especially Brad, Jon and Anne... For the duration of the stay they were great from start to finish. Would recommend to anyone traveling or staying around Doncaster for work. Would rather stay somewhere nice like the Ramada where the staff are friendly than somewhere average and the staff are ignorant..
We stayed the night before we flew out to Cyprus as we had travelled down from Newcastle and had an early morning flight. On arrival check in was quick and the women on reception was helpful. Our room was ample for the four of us with a view of the runway so our sons were delighted to watch the airplanes takeoff. Once sorted we got a drink from the bar and took them upstairs so we could relax and the boys could get some sleep before our early flight. The beds were spacious but slightly harder than we are used too. The hotel is so close to the airport we had a 5min walk to the terminal building the next morning. On our return we collected our car from the hotel car park handed in our car park pass at reception and were given the barrier code - all very smooth! Our only concern about the parking was that the spaces were very small - we parked out of the way in a corner of the carpark but we could totally see how people could have their cars damaged as the spaces are so narrow!
Airport right opposite. 5 mins walk & your there. Check in nice & smooth. Room was ample size with nice shower room. Only niggle is the bed. They do need to update these but ok for a night. Didn't have food here so can't comment. Got 2 pints of Becks £4 each which is expected at these places. All in all a good stay & would deffo use again.
It's a nice place, close to the airport. You just leave the car, and walk a few hundred yards to the check in desks. Our only complaint was that we were on the ground floor, room 5. It is next door to the ladies toilets. In there is a very loud hand drier which you clearly hear in room 5 whenever someone uses it. Its not good if you want a early night for a early flight.
I parked my car in the hotel for two weeks thinking it would be safer than the airport car park. We stayed in the hotel overnight as we had an early flight. I parked my new car next to the entrance of the hotel. It got damaged during the two weeks, I rang them on the 17th June the day we came back. It has took them 10 days to tell me unfortunately we don't have camera's on the car park only on the path. Beware if parking your car in this carpark. I'm really upset.
