Beautiful hotel. We stayed in this hotel five nights. Choosing this hotel it was good decision. Rooms are very big and comfortable, bathroom is ok. Very friendly and attentive staff who spoke English. Good view, we had two balconys. Pool is not too big, but it is sufficient. I would definitely recommend.
It was a friend recommendation so we decided to stay there for one night. No doubts it was a good decision. Quiet and clean place with excellent and super kind staff. So, if you need such place for rest, in Skopje, Vergina would be an excellent choice.
We stayed here for 2 nights in a triple room for a very moderate rate. Previous reviews were on the mark. Trying to find parking in Skopje is not easy. Take advantage of taxis to get you back and forth for about $6. This place is quiet and clean. Breakfast is nice. The pool is very small but who needs more? There is an aqua park right down the street if you like. Do expect a smile at reception and to be treated with respect. Breakfast is included and very nice as well. Parking is free and safe. Television with satellite, fridge, and hairdryer in room. Plenty of fresh air.
This small hotel is a great find. The people are very friendly and accommodating, and many of the employees speak fluent English. Their rates are very reasonable, and a full breakfast is served with the price of the room.
This was our second visit to Hotel Vergina and we enjoyed our stay again. The staff are very friendly and we enjoyed relaxing with a few beers next to the small pool enjoying the sunshine. Breakfast was adequate with a selection of cheese, hams, cereals, fruit, eggs and bread. Rooms were a good size equiped with a fridge with those in the second floor having balconies. The hotel is a 40 min walk from the centre of town along a pleasant walk by the river. Taxis are about 200 MKD but be aware of taxi drivers trying to overcharge in the evening. One tried to charge us 1800 MKD!
After going to Skopje, for more than six years, in different occasions, to a business trip, or with my fiancee, this was the last time that i was changing hotels. Finally i found the one thing that i need, because hotel Vergina offers me exactly that. To start first with the value of this hotel, the price is a bargain compered to what it offers and how well equipped, and what comfort it has. The service is on the level of a high class five star hotel, what is almost supriing( great work for the manager). The outdoor yard, with two swimming pools(my favorite jaccuzi), is a story for itself and a great relief in the warm Skopje summer. The sleeping quality is supreme especially if you take a room facing the west side(slept like a baby). There is a safe parking, free of charge which was of great meaning for me. The location is according to me maybe it's best side because altough is not in the center of the city is fairly close to it just a mile or two, but on a walking distance to a load of restaurants, cafe bars the biggest sports hall, the beautifull quay of the river Vardar, always full of people, where a usually get the free rent a bike from the hotel. Families with kids, businesmen, solo travelers, couples you will all find your place here. All in all for me a home far away of mine...Keep up the good work guys!!!
My wife and I were travelling in the region and wanted somewhere to stay in Skopje where we could park easily before heading on to Kosovo and Monetenegro. Hotel Vergina fitted the bill as it's easily accessible from the motorway. The parking was free, the rooms were a good size and had a balcony; there was free wifi; the breakfast was fine; and the service was friendly. Having said all that, the location is quite noisy and a long walk from town (if you don't want to bother with taxis), the room smelt of smoke, and there was no kettle in the room which was a drawback since there is no cafe or restaurant nearby (MacDonald's was a 1.9 km walk along the main road). All in all it was OK for what we wanted but if we visited Skopje again we'd probably opt for somewhere else a bit nearer town.
We stayed at this hotel for one night in route to another city. It is located about 5-10 min drive from the center of town, or about a 20 minute walk. It is located in a more industrial location, near a car dealership, but it is not a bad area of town. The front service was helpful and friendly. We stayed in a large room as we have 3 children and really had no problems fitting everyone. We did not use the pool as it was not yet filled for the season. This place was a good value for a family as Skopje tends to have high prices for these type of rooms (if even available) closer to the center of town. This hotel is not fancy but is nice and well worth the price. If we ever return to Skopje as a family, we'll likely return to this location.
I really do enjoy staying here in Hotel Vergina. I spend half of my life in Hotels all around the world because of business reasons and I regret that nearly no 5 star hotels can beat it. The reason? The mediterranian feeling. The beautiful garden with 2 small pools and terasse, the frienly and nice staff. I feel like home and for me it means much more than any fancy elevators and golden inserts in big elite Hotel. All the rooms are equipped with aircon, wich is a must in 38 degrees and there is a small fridge, where you can store your beverages in. Not a minibar for a fortune. On the other hand, the Hotel is located directly beside a busy highway which makes the garden a bit noisy but I asked for a room on the opposite side and it is quiet. They have free WiFi in the rooms and outside as well. There is a small gym with basicly one multifunctional machine which is maybe not the best for serious body builders but any who wants to make some excercises can find enough function on it for most of the muscle groups. The gym is also included in the price. Just like everything else but the drinks. By the way, the breakfast is not the best. The quality is OK, but the range is a bit poor. I missed the vegetables. The only real disadvantage is the location of it. The busy highway and that it is really in the middle of nowhere. There is only one restaurant in walking distance and that's it. Only gas stations and car dealers. The river Vardar is about 400meters away where you can jog, ride a bike and it leads you to the city center which is about 45 minutes by walk. More lazy guys should take a taxi which is quite reasonable. About 3-4hundred Denars to the center. (about 6 Euros) I would recommend this Hotel for Families with small children, for a group of friends to make some party outside and business travellers who wants to feel like they are on holliday after work. In winter time I would take an other hotel closer to the center If I had to stay for a longer period.
We stayed here for 3 nights as we were visiting Skopje to watch soccer game : Macedonia v Ireland. The hotel is just outside the city and is basic, very clean and has excellent staff. There were 14 of us in our group and we would recommend the hotel for groups looking for good value accomodation. The one thing all visitors to Skopje need to be aware of is the taxi drivers, many of them will try to over charge you, we would suggest you agree a price before the journey starts.
