First floor room is best because of if the elevator out of service you no need to use the stair. Room is very dark because of no window even window in bathroom( it don't help) No bottle of water set up on first night but the next OK.

the hotel was convenient in terms of transportation. the members of the staff were very accommodating. nice and clean room.

Lack of toiletries. Overall, hotel is comfort and nice hotel. Please look in to the room cleanliness, found lot of cobweb

Although, not a new hotel , was better than expected for the price. Was a good size shower, bathroom area, flat screen t.v.,free 2 bottles of water every day and coffee, friendly helpful staff. I particularly liked how quiet the hotel was and loved the thick wooden doors that would not slam shut, often while staying in hotels am woken up by slamming doors, that shake the walls. Not a bad location and do not mind walking, but is a fairly long walk to nearest MRT.

My wife and I and my 11 month old child checked in for one night stay. When we checked in, it was pleasant, but when Intried calling the front desk to request an extra towel for my son, there was no response. I tried many times to call downstairs but no answer. I hoped that their service would be better. Later on when We checked out, I literally had to insist that the front desk personnel call us a taxi. He was telling me to just hail a cab outside, when I was outside looking for a cab, none stopped. It was a total waste of 10 minutes of my time. Then I came back to tell him to just call us a taxi. Let's hope they can be better at costumer service.

This is a great budget hotel (clean, safe, right across the street from a hawker centre). The only real drawbacks are that 1) the room has no real window, just shutters that cannot open and 2) the bathroom is separated from the room by obscure glass and not a wall. However, the shuttered windows provided plenty of natural light and the obscure glass provided enough privacy for two people to be comfortable.

Room is big, comfortable. Nostalgic feeling, like as tho we were in the 80s.. Breakfast is delicious

Breakfast is very delicious. Room is nice, comfortable and has simple, old-school features.

We stayed at this low class "Hotel" last month. the location is bad as it is surrounded by Industerial area, during the night and the evening it's not nice to walk around. The "hotel" is very very basic, and the water from the bathroom us running to the room during taking a shower, windows are not closed properly, and the staff dosent care about that. I will not reccomend this place at all !!!

get a superior room only. standard rooms are dark closets. hotel tries for retro funky. succeeds in public spaces. rooms though, give off an institutional vibe, like a refurbished (mental) hospital or correctional facility. not a problem for a short stay. hotel is close(r) to airport than most and a bit far from the action. if we went to singapore again, would try to score a hotel in the chinatown or bugis area. overall Kam Leng is pretty good value for money (for singapore).

Checked in late - about midnight. Got a free upgrade to corner room... which apparently has a lot more space. But even so, just need somewhere to sleep for the night and shower, and given singapore is pretty pricey, this was a good option. Rooms very well kept and the hotel has a bit of a funky retro theme throughout. Opposite a 24 hour food court. Was about a $25 cab ride from the airport, but if you can get the metro you will save some $.

Our second stay at the newly renovated Kam Leng, and every bit as enjoyable as our first. Wonderful sense of historical style, tastefully decorated - pleasant balance of old architecture and fresh, new fixtures and furnishings. Comfortable beds. Great food court across the street open 24/7, we ate there every night and morning. Excellent wifi, fast and reliable, and printing services at front desk completed our IT needs. Looking forward to our next visit! Great value for the dollar in Singapore.
