The staff was nice as they've noticed that it was our birthday during the checkout, and brought us a cake. However, the facilities were not very good. We had a dead cockroaches on the floor, TV was not working, and couldn't use the pool because we did not get any email in advance to book the gym and the pool under covid limitation.
The property is located in a historical location and the room is great, however, the service at the bar and near the poolside can be better. It took a long time (over 20 min) to get our beers and one custom drink (Mojito). In general, I think that the hotel can do a better job dispersing their staff. For example, there were too many servers at the restaurant but no employees walking around the poolside taking orders from guests for drinks. The breakfast in the morning was just ok however, the chef did take a while to make custom breakfast items such as roti prata and pancakes (over 20 min). There was nobody in front of us in the queue when we ordered. Some of the food items were cold even though they were in chaffing dishes and being heated. Pros: - Spacious room, clean, good amenities - Located at an iconic location, Fort Canning park is a stones throw away - 3 pools, all of which are very clean and not very chlorinated Cons: - Service is slow - Employees can be better dispersed around the hotel - Employees can be better trained as well - Seems more like a 4 star hotel charging 5 star prices
The property is located in a beautiful park that has nice walking trails and ample shade. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are welcoming.
Beautiful room and amenities are nice. A little trek to public transport and restaurants and such in the Bencoolen area. But, perhaps, that isolation also provides the privacy and quite.
Up to date property on a historic location. Very comfortable room with a beautifully designed bath space.
I missed my flight and the hotel went out of their way to extend my stay and ensure I was comfortable. big thank you !

Attended conference so stayed at the conference hotel - rather pricey but very good quality and a great location. Only significant annoyance: high-tech lighting/cooling control is confusing and unreliable; and it shuts off all power including the computer, so laptop can't be left to charge.
